Such a large amount of space around it, I feel like there need to be restaurant and retail space in the front, it would make it much more lively.

... Is it reopening as a museum, office space, shops and/or apartments or is it reopening as a train station located smack dab in the middle of Chicago and Toronto?
@MichaelPernaTV5 ай бұрын
A little of everything except apartments. There’s a small luxury hotel going in & very limited train stops. The actual train station in use is about 2 miles east & north

They better not turning into a fucking business park, Detroit is making a comeback and needs a proper station. Not whatever the hell its using rn.
Ford spent 950M of their own money refurbishing the train station, the book depositary building and the surrounding park. Ford did receive future tax breaks, but no tax dollars for the project.

@@richkroberts He or she likely believes that the Postal Service is funded by taxpayers as well. These types most often live in states that are net federal tax recipients, getting more funding back than what was paid in to begin with.

two replies that know nothing about finance or liberty... Ford's (and others rightly so) cars put the Railroads out of the passenger business; Amtrak is government funded; so Ford rehabs a Roman relic in Detroit and builds cars in Mexico... does anybody remember the Ford Pinto?
