While it isn't as bad as the black plague let alone the grey death in the game, people who are safe from the virus are those with money, meanwhile poor people - as in those in or just above the poverty line - are fucked, whether they got the virus or not. It's not completely accurate but the fact that it happened and played out similarly to the grey death pandemic, in addition to how it is possibly man made, is quite astonishing.

It's happening, or at least the building blocks for it to happen are there and continually being put in place with EU wide laws and directives EU wide but increasing scepticism and calls from nations to leave the EU are kind of making the level of things described here more unlikely in the future. Sucks too, because a European trade alliance promoting common interest and cooperation amongst independent equals is certainly a great thing on paper, but the EU have knecapped themselves by trying to go too far and tarnishing their image in the public eye.
