This explains a lot about how these popular background scores a.k.a bgms in Tamil Cinema and other regional cinemas are so much in sync with the screen visuals and feel very seamless to experience. From your demystification, I could see the music is only making the audience listen to what actually has been shown on the screen. I've had thought at times why this bgm feels so good and intoxicating, but now I know the answer as it is keeping the ears and eyes in synchrony. Fabulous, as always !

Well essentially that is the role of background score for motion picture. Typically though initially it was created to keep the audience engaged in the silent scenes to prevent them being distracted by the noises of projector or something else around, seeped in to emote the scenes and performance. I myself a composer look for minuscule details as even as small as lifting of an eyebrow, to be emphasised, and it is because of the music such details are noticed, without music such performance goes missed. Here, Deva a versatile composer and a genius takes no excuse to miss the details! Thank you @suvaissance for this beautiful and educational breakdown!

I love all three of them very much… Raja, Rahman, Deva all are like gurus for me… The films that Raja sir did after 1992 - that alone would be the number of films that some major Hollywood composer did in their lifetime… Hollywood would faint when they see us calling that number of movies as a “destroyed” career - just an alternate thought 😂…

Thanks… A lot of times, the initial few people I show the content suggest trimming the video… I am glad I didn’t trim that footstep part out… I actually felt it was fascinating that it was so hard to find any normal footstep that was as crisp as the Baasha sound effect. I know it’s a made up sound effect and humans can’t walk like that… even if they are superstars… but it’s amazing how it instantly turns smart and crisp after you remove the second impact sound. And instead add dust sound.
@loh-gain7017 ай бұрын
That’s so true, it’s all about the sound design and how much effort they should have put into making it sound so crisp and sync well with the scene for the main Badshah theme song. ‘Naan Autokaran’ and ‘Badshah’ having the same tune is another brilliant analysis. Again, I just loved the way you compared different kinds of footsteps, which eventually made us realize how crucial it can be and the importance of just footsteps can actually make such a big impact for the overall sound and feel. As a musician and music producer, I always try to analyze all the sound elements whenever I’m listening to a song. And now you literally made me be more precise and give even more detailed attention to a simple sound and the science behind it. Glad that I found your channel a long time back, it is very interesting and will be very useful for a lot of musicians out there. Thank you so much ❤️🔥🦾
