Devanagala raja maha viharaya(Temple) is situated about 6km away from mawanella town,Kegalle district in Sri lanka.Thers are three road with steps to access on the top of the devanagala rock.
The history of the temple goes back to the Anuradhapura era. It is also related to polonnaruwa and kandyan era.
There are two rock inscriptions on devanagala rock. Oldest one is belongs to polonnaruwa era. It was established by king Parakramabahu great. Other rock inscription is belongs to kandyan era and it was established by king wimaladharmasuriya 1.
From the top of the devanagala rock you can enjoy with beautiful sceneries. The environment here is calm and quiet.
