That's not the case in Asian countries. In Japan, India, South Korea etc etc there is no such necessity. That's why the concept of joint families exists here where parents, grandparents, kids live together. So here when Yuri talks about Mor, he feels responsible for her as they don't have it in their culture to survive on their own.

just to point this out. all three have superpowers. anya is obvious but Loid has speedreading, advanced social prediction, the ability to make lifelike masks in seconds and superhuman agility. Yor has superhuman strength, Poisson resistance and immunity, superhuman speed (speed and agility are different), and the ability to turn all food into poison.

Seem Yor isn't really a spy. She kinda dense and very innocent. Not really great for infiltration and misdirection. She's more the powerhouse, which a nice dynamic to to pair with Loid's wide ranging skillset. And Anya's being done pretty well too. Being a telepath would be completely broken if it wasn't in the hands of a four year old that often misinterprets things and acts a little bit selfish. Very cool show.
