Love your dark colored Jerseys with the almost black face and side markings. Glad to hear you're feeding a high energy feed to your high producers and lean milk cows. Some are just slow eaters or poor digesters, gotta give them a chance to prove themselves out. Consider the 5000 kelvin bright sunlight bulbs. Try some hydrated lime on the cow walkways and high movement areas sprinkled on. Sticks to the hooves. Kills lots of bacteria and disease protozoa. Kills calf scour problems dead in the calf bedding areas. Goes right into your muck tank. Would not put it in cow bedding areas so the cows won't breath it in. High rainfall grass fields loves a less acid soil.

He is a normal person, who loves his Animals, and the priority he gives the herd is great to see, Tom I love the videos you are doing, farming is not always easy, there is up's and downs daily, would love to visit your farm some time in the future, within 2 years, I live around farming families and have helped out on them on numerous occasions, your talking in the videos show how farming really is, bad day, good days, even when things don't go right, I like your attitude, true gratitude, your father even sounds like a man who knows the up and downside of farming, it is either in you or not, michael power

Grass lice I used to call sheep coming onto any excess grass in the autumn! When we switched to autumn calving- 260 cows in 8-9 wks, we stopped the sheep coming- over wintered grass has a positive value for getting the first lot of safely I/c cows out, mid Feb!

Thanks for always sharing the changes you make, why you feels its better or why you felt an improvement was needed and what you find works. Love that you share your information for other farmers and to know what products are out there that you feel is good for your cows. Love seeing your dad and the spring in his step. You know he’s living his best farming years through you and being part of the changes your making and having him give his input as he’s able to be part of the future of farming with you. 4:39 you could consider hanging those clear rubber flaps wich are also used in front of the opening from big freezer cels to keep the wind out. They work like a dream and the cows are not bothered by them and they don't chew on the them.

Tom, have you thought about hanging a large piece of canvas to go over that doorway. One you can fold back to let the cows come and go. Would make a real dent on the wind and also keep the rain out. Also, just another gentle hint to slow your voice down and keep your face to camera when talking we can't her you when you face the other way. I'll also add what I added once before. If you don't slow down you are a major threat for a heart attack and none of this is any good to you, especially Joannah if you're dead.
