Wow ! it’s all About him ! See this more then once ,they cheat,are violent,lies,manipulate and now he is crying ! You made your bed sleep in it ! My ex was similar ! Took me for ever to get a semblance of a life after I left after 18 years ! I stayed thinking he was honest and sincere to be better ,but every time I forgave him he just got worse and worse ! Because that is what abusers do ! The harderI tried the more the life was sucked out of me ! He wanted comfort and I was it so When I walked away he lost his anchor ! Selfish to the core ! And still to this day 5 years later ,he is still doing the same things and expecting people to forgive and forget ! Self pity parties ,are the crutches for the drugs,alcohol and the cheating !

Classic BPD- often over-looked in men. But, the shoe fits- not a put down, just explains a lot if you think about it. A big thought distortion with BPD is that you feel so empty that you tend to think that one specific other person is the source of all your well-being/pain. If a person can get to the point of having some true sense of a "solid" self of their own, it gets them off the merry-go-round of idealization/splitting.
