Five years? Wow what's it about?
@feebasfifi3 жыл бұрын
@@smg4reblooperd182 its been since I started drawing 😂 main theme is childhood trauma, following characters as they address it and progress from it, all from a child's lense (so it's gotta be done delicately). They're also elemental fairies with cool emotional fight scenes cause I like me some big emotional fight scenes 😂 still only a student though so I'll be continuing to build it before pitching it to anyone
@smg4reblooperd1823 жыл бұрын
@@feebasfifi I'm interested to say the least. Fairies you said? Are we talking like your average modern tinkerbell Kind with a magic wand and looks like a winged lady? Or even like the show Winx Club? Or Faeries the less sparkling but very mystical variation that's more closer to the original. Where they more curious and at times more dangerous. Or Fae, used as the catch all term for magical creatures, from kelpies to pixies. Often there would be various types of Fae, using King Arthur’s Seelie and Unseelie court is common. Most Fae aren’t either particularly evil or particularly good, they tend to suffer from a vastly different morality then humans, and different types can range from angelic to demonic. Or Fey the Really old types of fair folk, the type that’ll snatch your babies and curse your milk. They’re not tiny, glittery things with wings. They’re dangerous. They’re evil. They don’t have souls and moral compasses like humans. They’re entirely, utterly, other. Beings we can hardly comprehend. There's so many different versions that your not limited to one kind
@feebasfifi3 жыл бұрын
@@smg4reblooperd182 In terms of the story, so far they're a hybrid of pure Fae and human (canonically at the moment, humans were the only species that their DNA could meld with and the higher Fae needed some lackies, essentially), but I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology in their creation. Stuff like changelings exist, as when a new elemental fairy is reincarnated they need to switch out the babies, etc. I have yet to determine how dark I want them to be as it is still a kids show - my third year dissertation that I'm doing research over summer for is looking into how children react to trauma in animation so I can see what they understand, what would be too scary. I do have character designs and short animations on my insta (@thefeebastheoryart) if anyone's interested. Some of them are iffy and bound to change though.

@@feebasfifi as a series pitcher myself I'm taking the book route first as it gives me more control for my paranormal mystery story. Best I can describe is a mature ground between gravity falls and over the garden wall. Both good in their own right but gravity falls is generally more light hearted. And as a side project a more adventurous pirate themed one. Which I'll work on more after the main one is done While I've had drafts for the main story going as far back as 2017-2016 I didn't officially start chapter 1 until February this year. Currently I'm on chapter 5 and I like how it's coming out so far but I'm not closed off on advice either

In my opinion, It seems like the days of pitching to studios are over. More and more creatives are making things without “ big studios”. Creatives should make their own stuff and team up to create beautiful and unique animated stories!

We will be using everything here to continue our journey forward. Thank you 😊

I know this has been an open secret for years, but it's pretty disappointing to hear Nickelodeon flat out admit that they're only interested in comedies, to the point that they retroactively brand shows like Avatar as a comedy because they have comedy bits in them (like everything else).
@sporetv573 жыл бұрын
Yeah because I was going to submit a show idea called Reign in which the style is heavily inspired by anime. However, my series will gradually get more mature and darker and now I highly doubt Nick will pitch because of humor. I wish Nick today explored more mature themes and take more ideas from Cartoon Network and Disney Channel.

I appreciate Nick for doing this and explaining…… But tbh ALL OF US should be making our own content and putting it out independently until the bigs come to YOU. Don’t let these major companies be the “end-all” for your creativity. I’m creating an urban cartoon platform that will have all the things that all the major companies lack. They’re still playing the television game… not realizing more ppl watch YT then cable tv. If they were more aware they would ALL change their format. I’m gonna be the Kanye of this animation business. It’s already in the works I just have to get out of my comfort zone and grind everyday. I was watching this as a scape goat to see how I can make money quickly but the truth is. We all have to grind for what we truly want. Imagine being an employee for Nickelodeon vs being a PARTNER with Nickelodeon or Disney or CN. You guys got this! CREATE n BE GREAT ! 🌊
