It's a good video and makes me appreciate DMC5 even more than I already do. It's oddly nostalgic yet moves the story and gameplay forward in ways that still carry what makes DMC one of my most favorite series.

I really wish at the very end there was a segment of Nero defending earth from an army of demons while Dante and Vergil close the gate. That would have been pretty epic lol

So basically. Half Vergil (V) hires Vergil's brother (Dante) and Vergil's Son (Nero) to fight the other half Vergil (Urizen) in order to combine half Vergil (V) with half Vergil (Urizen), so that in the end Vergil (Vergil) and Vergil's brother (Dante) can fight. .... neat!!!

Good job, but I disagree with you that Nero with his DT surpassed Dante or Vergil. Nero entered into a fight were two brothers had already weakened by their own fight. Also, I might be wrong at some point here, but Vergil seem to be stronger than Dante because Vergil didn't unleash his full Sin DT like Dante did (Nero is no way equal to him right now, unless he is weakened + Vergil had no strong motivation to fight Nero like he had with Dante). Just look what happened to Dante by getting Sin DT - New Sword form + completely different moveset. Vergil on the other half has none of it, he acts as if it's his simple DT but with skin of a Sin DT & under a state of being as strong as his twin (or maybe it's just a developers miscalculation). This leads me that he still has a way to evolve his Sin DT, thus be stronger than Dante (by the logic, his Sin DT should have been equal to Dante's but it's not, fully).
@AShadowLink
@AShadowLink 4 жыл бұрын
I believe Vergil's Sin DT allows him the use of Doppganger and also that super Vergil missile attack he uses in both fights. He definitely gained some new abilities that he only uses when in DT but yeah he does still fight like it's regular DT
@firerath
@firerath 4 жыл бұрын
I agree regarding Nero. There’s no way that DT matches the power of Dante and Vergil, but I’d say it’s superior in terms of raw strength, meaning he can punch much harder but that’s the only advantage he has over them. As for Vergil, I’d say he and Dante are truly equal, with his DT just manifesting differently, or Doppelgänger being his version of the Sin DT

Fire Rath given the fact Dante literally runs through basically all the powerful bosses in the game to include 3 str8 up fights with his equal Nero should have some kind of strength advantage lol but in no regards is he as strong as his father or uncle....in time possibly.

Arthur's Little World only time Vergil was absolutely stronger than Dante was in DMC 3 n the novels before the events of DMC3 once Dante awoke his Devil within he quickly matched Vergil n I dare say with ease...I believe their strength differs in their reason to fight thorougly explained by Dante during mission 17 where he says “strength is a choice and u fight like hell to protect what u love....” vergil being greedy for power will never matter to Dante because he knows obtaining & maintaining are two sides of the same coin

Well Sparda left his son's with his swords a third of his power each, Nero was able to restore Yamato on his own he fights without his demonic power for most of the game. Nero isn't stronger than either brother as they are now but the final fight implies he will surpass them in the future. I think future games will focus on Nero trying to maintain control of his demonic side now that it's been unleashed and isn't tied to a physical object like Vergil or Dante with their swords. Bloody palace implies that there is a lot of Urizen in Nero.

Notice-This is part 2 of a Semi-Rewrite of Devil May Cry 5, I recommend you search for my comment with the longest amount of time before reading this comment. The next cutscene is a quick flashback cutscene with V explaining things off screen. V would explain that Sparda had planted spies within the Underworld after his betrayal and found out that Mundus had been freed from his imprisonment and once again rules the Underworld. Knowing that Mundus would seek vengeance, Sparda decided to venture to Mallet Island (Wielding Alastor and Ifrit Devil Arms, visually explaining how they ended up on Mallet Island) and use its Hellgate (Using the Philosopher’s Stone) to enter the Underworld. However, since he didn’t have the Devil Sword Sparda, he couldn’t use his full power and in the end, was defeated by Mundus. But V would then explain that Mundus did not kill Sparda, instead he decided to imprison and try to break him like he did Vergil, except he had no intention to make Sparda his servant. After many failures, Mundus decided to use a mind reading parasite demon to see into Sparda’s memories and find out about Sparda’s wife and sons, leading Mundus to order a group of demons to kill them. Using his magic, Mundus has Sparda witness the death of Eva and the attack of Vergil with his own eyes, finally breaking the Dark Knight Sparda, with Sparda believing that Dante died in the fire. After finally breaking Sparda, Mundus decides to leave Sparda in his imprisonment, not believing that he is worth killing anymore now that he is broken. V then explains that many years would pass while Sparda was imprisoned, until Sparda would get a visit from none other than Vergil as Nelo Angelo, almost as if it was instinctual. However, Sparda would not recognize him or his power. Sparda dismissed him at first, but then Nelo Angelo would throw the broken blade of Yamato in front of Sparda. Sparda was enraged, believing it to be an insult to his family’s memory. Sparda would then transform into hi Devil Trigger form and Nelo Angelo would teleport away before Sparda would break his chains. But Sparda acknowledged how pointless his freedom was, as he was not powerful enough to defeat Mundus. However, Sparda then looks at Yamato and remembers the power it wields, as well as the demon he once was, Sparda then slowly walks toward the broken Yamato and then falls to his knees. Sparda picks up Yamato and uses the broken blade to stab himself in the chest and remove the love and compassion from his heart. It would then be revealed that the embodiment of his compassionate and humane side would be none other than V, whose appearance is that of a younger Sparda in human form. As for Sparda, it would then be revealed that Urizen is actually Sparda surrendering to his true demonic side. Urizen would dismiss both V and the broken Yamato and go on to conquer the Underworld until Mundus's return. V then explains that after a few weeks passed, eventually Mundus returned (Shortly after the events of Devil May Cry 1), but was weakened by his fight with Dante and so was easily defeated and killed by Urizen. V then explains that after that, Urizen set his sights on the human realm, as without his humanity, all he sought was power. And so Urizen began searching for Yamato to escape the Underworld. We would then see a full created cutscene of Vergil and V would explain off screen that after his defeat as Nelo Angelo, Vergil's soul would return to the underworld and would recreate his incomplete physical form, as he was still weak from his fight with Dante. Vergil would wander the Underworld until he meets V, causing V to cry for a moment. The next cutscene would show that V and Vergil have recapped each other on the events of Devil May Cry 3. V cries for a moment at the realization that Dante is alive. V then convinces Vergil to join him in defeating Urizen and reclaiming Vergil's power. The next cutscene would show V coming from Fortuna and V (Off screen) would then explain that when he was born, he took Yamato to the Order of the Sword in Fortuna to keep it a distance away from Urizen, but kept a shard of the blade in order to return to the Underworld to find a demon who could defeat Urizen. The next cutscene would show Vergil (Weakened) and V fighting against Urizen, while Vergil explains off screen that V's plan was to knock down Urizen and use the Yamato shard to seal Urizen within his body. Vergil and V knock Urizen down and then Vergil jumps down and jams his hand with the Yamato Shard in it into Urizen's center eye, beginning to absorb Urizen into his body. V off screen then says that something went wrong. Urizen then decides to counter his absorption by trying to absorb Vergil into himself. V explains that after seeing this, he used all of his power to enhance Vergil's power so he could absorb Urizen. V would jump behind Vergil and stab his cane into Vergil's back, giving him all of the demonic power he had. Vergil would then say off screen that while he succeeded in absorbing Urizen, he also absorbed V. The cutscene ends with Vergil all alone and using the Yamato Shard to return to the Human World. Due to word limits in the comment section, I'm ending part 2 here. I'll post part 3 tomorrow, as it's getting late where I am now and I need my sleep. I hope you like part 2 of my semi-rewrite of Devil May Cry 5.

I love this game, but I felt that the story shouldn't revolved souly on Vergil's return since this is might be the final game in the franchise. But I actually thought of a few ideas, along with an INSANE story on what could've made this game a better finale to the Sons of Sparda Saga and would have changed the way we see Devil May Cry 5 entirely. These ideas would help fill in the gaps between games in the franchise before DMC 5 and answer the biggest question of the franchise. Don't worry I won't be taking anything away from the game, I'll just be changing and adding a huge plot change that will change the flow of the story. These ideas will retcon a few things from the manga, but to be honest, we mostly focus on the story from the games anyway. So I hope you enjoy this Semi-Rewrite of Devil May Cry 5 First I wouldn't have had the game milk Vergil's return by making it super obvious, so I would have switched a few cutscenes around. For example, the flashback scene of Vergil splitting V from himself would have happened after V revealed Vergil to Nero before Dante's battle with Urizen. I also would have switched the numbering of a few mission just to give the multiple playable characters more turns in between each other, but that's just a nitpick to me. So when it comes to the INSANE story change, it wouldn't happen until after Mission 17, the final boss fight against Urizen. The cutscene where V attempts to revive Vergil would still be the same except after stabbing Urizen's center eye, V would rip the eye open to release the crystalized Yamato from inside Urizen. Before Dante could reach V, Yamato would be released from its crystal prison and shine a blue light, revealing a revived Vergil, except that V and Urizen are still separated and from here is where things would get INSANE. The next cutscene would show Dante and Nero surprised at Vergil's revival. However the moment is interrupted with Urizen gaining more power from the fruit as time passes. Vergil tells everyone to leave this to him and then we get a boss fight between Vergil and Urizen. After the boss fight, a cutscene would play showing that not even Vergil alone can easily kill Urizen. V convinces Vergil that they need to retreat and Vergil reluctantly creates a portal for everyone to go through. However, a mad Dante kicks Vergil through the portal, knowing that he was planning to stay behind, and tells himself that Vergil's got a lot of explaining to do. The next cutscene show Team Sparda reunite with Nico, Trish, and Lady. An enraged Dante punches V and demands to know what is going on. Vergil would then cut in and tell Dante that V was keeping his end of the bargain. V then tells everyone that he told them the truth, but not all of it. V then tells Dante that since Vergil was Urizen's vessel, Vergil gained the same power from the Qliphoth Fruit as Urizen did, allowing him to equal Dante's new found power (Sin Devil Trigger). V then tells Dante that to explain the whole plan, he would have to explain the biggest question on his and Vergil's mind. Dante asks, what question? V then says "What happened to Sparda"? Due to word limits on the comment section, I'm gonna have to cut this one short, but don't worry. I will post part 2 in a few minutes, as the next big story change involving Sparda is going to be long and make this comment longer than the word limit in the comment section would allow. I hope you enjoyed part 1 of this Devil May Cry 5 Semi-Rewrite.

Dante was inspired by Vergil, using him as his literary self's guide through Inferno in the Divine Comedy (DMC takes A LOT of inspiration with names and locations from this text, and by extension the author.) William Blake, in turn, was inspired by Dante's work, thanks to John Milton's extensions to the spheres of Hell and Earth. Even if I hadn't seen V's hair turn white when he used his familiars in the prologue, I would have been able to deduce his identity from this literary connection alone. Then again, I read "Inferno" for fun and "Paradise Lost" and Songs of Innocence/Experience for classes during my years as an English major.

Nero physically is the strongest among the 3 Sparda bloodline due to him doing wrestling moves to larger opponents. Skill and weapons mastery Dante, the one thing though gameplay wise if you're good with Royal Guard that Dante doesn't do in the cutscenes, Dante is as good as the player can be. Technique Vergil with limited weapons he can can still go toe to toe with Dante who has an arsenal of weapons and even Nero's strength though he was beaten.

Notice-This is part 3 of a Semi-Rewrite of Devil May Cry 5, I recommend you search for my comment with the longest amount of time before reading this comment. The next cutscene shows present day with V explaining to Dante, Nero, and everyone that after all of that, Vergil reclaimed Yamato, returned to their old house, and released him before Urizen could take over Vergil's body. V then tells everyone that that's when he decided to go to Dante. Dante is shocked to find out that his father is still alive, but then becomes angered, asking V what he plans to get out of reviving Vergil. V then tells Dante that his plan was to have both Dante and Vergil defeat Urizen. Vergil cuts into the conversation and tells Dante and V that he has no intention of joining forces with Dante at this moment. Vergil then claims that his wandering the underworld at the end of DMC 3 was Vergil attempting to search for Sparda after finding a clue from information he stole from the Order of the Sword during his time in Fortuna in DMC 4. Believing that if he can defeat his father, then he can defeat Dante. The cutscene continues the same with Dante attacking Vergil, except that V would realize that he may have made a miscalculation and then decides to leave to face Urizen himself, despite his weaker power. Nero tries to talk to V, but V escaped by getting carried away by Griffon before Nero can say a word. The cutscene continues as normal like in the original game. The next cutscene is the same cutscene of Vergil creating a throne to wait for Dante, except an extra piece of dialogue has Vergil saying that it looks like he will have to settle the score with Dante before he can finally defeat Sparda. Mission 18 would replace Dante with Vergil facing V's three familiars, who were released from their contract with V by Urizen. After defeating the three familiars, they would explain what happened to V after he left earlier. Mission 19 would have you play as V going to confront a full powered Urizen, with the both of them arguing over why they exist and their reason for gaining power. After the boss fight, a cutscene would play showing V entering his Devil Trigger and summoning Nightmare in order to fire his domination beam, while Urizen would counter and clash with a beam of his own from his center eye. The cutscene would end with a huge explosion from higher up the Qliphoth Tree. Missions 20 would be Dante's fight with Vergil (I would create an option to have you play as Vergil to fight Boss Dante or Dante to fight Boss Vergil for this fight) and Mission 21 would be Nero's fight against Vergil. After Nero's boss fight with Vergil, the next big change would be Nero convincing Vergil to work with him and Dante, saying that he is it to him as a Son of Sparda and as his father. Vergil reluctantly agree since he lost the fight and in an epic fashion, the Dante and Vergil transform into their Sin Devil Trigger forms, while Nero transforms into his Devil Trigger form and they all fly to the very tip top of the Qliphoth Tree to face Urizen/Sparda. Mission 22 would begin, as the next cutscene would have Nero, Dante, and Vergil land in front of Urizen and revert to their human forms with their weapons in hand, while V is imprisoned high up by the Qliphoth roots, leaving V to spectate the upcoming battle. Urizen claims that despite sharing blood, they are too weak to defeat the true Sparda. Urizen would then transform to resemble Sparda's Devil Trigger form (Emulating Dante's Sparda form from Devil May Cry 1) and then Dante and Vergil transform into their Sin Devil Trigger form, while Nero transforms into his Devil Trigger form. The final boss fight begins with playing either as Nero, Vergil, or Dante (You get to choose before the mission begins) and with an infinite Devil Trigger meter for the first half of the fight. While playing as a chosen character, the other two act as partner characters. (Similar to Dante and Vergil at the end of the original DMC 5). Due to word limits I'm going to end part 3 here, I hope you enjoyed this part of my semi-rewrite of Devil May cry 5.

I don’t know why everybody hating on a stand alone Nero game. I’ve been a fan of this franchise since “Devil may cry” I love Dante he can’t be replaced however when Nero was introduced in 4 I instantly liked him. Yes he can be irritating but he has the chance to grow and we as fan can follow that journey. Does Dante or Vergil need to not ever come back fuck no but Nero will never gain the respect he deserves with them around so a game or two without them won’t hurt. To much of anything and you’ll get bored it’s ok to “miss” them for a while actually the whole “missing” thing works look at how we all responded to this the actual sequel to dmc4. Not to mention that’s when we first see Nero so this is only our second game with him Let Nero get his proper shine the Sparda bros need a rest. Not to mention he’s voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch (the second black mighty morphin power ranger Adam) which is mad dope to me.

Notice-This is part 4 of a Semi-Rewrite of Devil May Cry 5, I recommend you search for my comment with the longest amount of time before reading this comment. After getting Urizen/Sparda’s health to a certain point, a cutscene plays showing Dante using The Luce technique, while Nero uses his Maximum Bet technique, both combined with Vergil’s Judgement Cut End attack, causing Dante and Nero's attack to explode point blank at Urizen/Sparda. However, Urizen/Sparda is still standing and his aura pushes back Nero, Dante, and Vergil. Meanwhile, while flying back from Urizen/Sparda’s attack, Vergil uses Yamato from afar to release V from his bonds. Dante and Vergil are knocked down and are nearly out of power. However, Nero stands tall against Urizen and gives a speech about finally gaining the strength he has been searching for, the strength to protect what matters, the strength to love another. Nero then claims that it’s because of that strength that Sparda stood tall against the Underworld and Nero does the same by raising his sword to Urizen/Sparda. The second part of the boss fight begins with playing as Nero without his Devil Trigger meter, as this would be the third scripted boss fight that Nero would have to lose. After the second half of the boss fight, a cutscene plays showing Nero getting pushed back, causing his sword Red Queen to be tossed into a nearby wall, but then he gets back up. Urizen/Sparda rants about how Nero has used up his power and is no different than a weak human. Urizen then claims that the Sons of Sparda even together cannot stop the Underworld's second coming. Suddenly, V jumps, throws his cane past Nero and then teleports behind him. V then stabs his cane into Nero's back and transforms into Sparda's Devil Trigger form, giving what is left of Sparda's power to Nero. V then reverts back to his original form, with his body quickly beginning to crumble again, as Nero transforms into his Devil Trigger form again. V then shouts to Dante and Vergil, telling them to give all of their remaining power to Nero. Without hesitation, Dante pours all of his power into Devil Sword Dante. As for Vergil, he is hesitant, but then whispers to himself that this is his repayment as a father and pours all of his power into Yamato. Dante and Vergil shout to Nero and throw him their swords. Nero flies up and catches Devil Sword Dante and Yamato, dual wielding them and taking on Dante and Vergil's power. Urizen/Sparda questions this combined power Nero possesses, with Nero replying that this is the power of the Sons of Sparda. The final stage of the boss battle begins with Nero in his own version of Sin Devil Trigger (Which is just Nero's Devil Trigger Dual wielding Devil Sword Dante and Yamato, while flying) and has an infinite Sin Devil Trigger meter. Nero would have new special attacks and combos that would be enhanced and unlocked in the Skill Shop. After the boss fight, a cutscene plays with Nero landing into the wall that Red Queen was pushed into and grabs it with one of his wing hands. Nero then jumps forward toward Urizen/Sparda while he's charging the beam from his center eye. Nero then holds Red Queen with both of his wing hands, sticks Devil Sword Dante and Yamato out to his sides and spins like a drill toward Urizen/Sparda, which would be a special move called Power of Sparda. Urizen/Sparda unleashed his center eye beam and clashes with Nero's attack. Dante, Vergil, and V begin shouting to encourage Nero on. We cut to Nero's eyes that are closed and then a quick flash of Kyrie (Who is finally seen the only time in the story) and then returns to Nero's eyes that now open with determination. Nero then pushes forward and pierces though Urizen/Sparda's center eye, bring Urizen/Sparda to his knees and having Nero land behind Urizen/Sparda awesome anime style. The next cutscene would have Urizen/Sparda question his defeat, V then approaches him and tells him that in the end, the power gained from the separation was for naught, as the Sons of Sparda lived on and surpassed them in every way. Urizen/Sparda begins to shed tears, remembering why he sought power in the first place (To avenge his family from Mundus's attack). V then stabs his cane into Urizen/Sparda's center eye and begins to slowly combine back into their true self. Nero, Dante, and Vergil see a weakened and shirtless Sparda, finally seen after years of being missing. Dante and Vergil both catch Sparda before he can fall from being weakened from the fight against his children and grandchild. Sparda begins cry tears of joy and expresses how he is glad to see his children again, while Dante and Vergil try to keep their cool and try to not get emotional, as Dante slightly bared hatred against Sparda for going missing and for having demon blood, while Vergil does not want to embarrass himself in front of his father by getting emotional. After Sparda expresses how proud he is of Dante, Vergil, and happily greets his grandson, Sparda begins to disappear, telling his children that he has to join their mother now and tells himself that he will be with Eva soon, ending the cutscene on an emotional note as Vergil sheds one tear while looking up to the sky, thinking about his parents. In the next cutscene after Sparda disappears, Vergil tells Dante that they have business to attend to. Dante and Vergil raise their sword to each other, but then Nero intervenes, telling them that he's still not going to let them kill each other. However, the Qliphoth Tree begins the shake and Nero tells Dante and Vergil that the Underworld is still taking over. The cutscene continues as normal with Dante and Vergil going into the Underworld to cut down the Qliphoth Tree, while Nero stays in the human world, putting an end to the Sons of Sparda Saga. I hope all of you readers have enjoyed this semi-rewrite of Devil May Cry 5. I agree with you a lot of what you said but, Nero can't carry this franchise alone. Leaving it that way is much better besides, the series suffered dormancy twice with separating a lot of longtime fans.
@vanyadolly
@vanyadolly 4 жыл бұрын
I think they'd at least need Dante and Vergil around in the next game to help Nero along. D&V just have a more interesting dynamic that should still be explored, and the same goes for Nero's relationship with Vergil. I'm up for DMC VI: Daddy Issues.

@@Godslayer1975 It's dead because of the reboot, tbh. But yeah, action games like these are at high risk in selling well let's say less than 5-10M copies sold. I'm fully aware of how the DMC community got divided and I'm not really happy about it. As a conclusion to the series, it's okay. Just an average game between the rest of the other games recently.

Wouldn’t that make Nero 25% demon and 75% human? Sparda 100% demon, Vergil 50% demon, so Nero would be 25% demon. For the next game I would like to see a prequel with sparda as the main protagonist. As for DMC: Devil May Cry they should continue that alternative universe with different ideas and outcomes not seen in the original universe. The DMC: Devil May Cry version of Dante I like just a little bit more is because Dante is half angel and half demon. It just makes more sense in my opinion. The ultimate good vs the ultimate evil within him.

Excellent review I'll just say two things and leave it at that number one seriously it took this long for that kid to figure out that he was related to either Dante or Virgil? He's the only other white haired guy in the whole f****** game. And to let me just say this I wonder if our ancestors had had such a problem with naked ladies if we would all be here right now one does Wonder. LOL excellent review however thank you

Just for the record when nero beat Dante and Virgil he was nowhere near as strong as those two mind you they had just got through beating the crap out of each other so they will relatively nowhere near there full best it's just that Virgil was just too stubborn to take a rest that's how he got beat by Mundus

Bro fr DmC wasn't that bad. It was fun for what it was and tbh I wouldn't be mad if they made either a remake of the first game or a sequel to it. Just write the characters better and make the combat like dmc 5. Attack me if you like people 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey youtuber, Nero DT come out because of a plot armor(because just screaming emotionally with care cannot give you a DT out of nowhere, that's not how it works in DMC) and also a telephone which only god knows how it is working up there in a hill, a big shame indeed. So please focus on Nero plot armor too. Its the most powerful thing in the entire game. DMC5 Nero is even more worse than DMC Reboot Dante.

Won't lie, I really didnt enjoy this game. Some bits of the story are cool...but the story was so "meh". The combat was slow and clunky, and the characters were "blah". I much rather prefer DmC's faster combat, platforming, and more interesting characters. I'm sad we got this instead of a DMC sequel

It's a short inclusive casual romp of a game with lax difficulties. It's has exceptional gameplay and minimal to no replay value. It's aesthetics goes against the previously set ones in 4 an are more in line with the reboot. The gross uncanny valley characters are not very pleasing to the eye. The story truly a dumpster fire. It has mangled lore filled with inconsistencies. It makes you curse the day you ever got invested with this series. Expectations have been crushed.
