Part introduces the universe of Devil May Cry, telling the story of the legendary dark knight Sparda, who stood up against a demon king and saved humanity. His half human, half demon sons Dante and Vergil inherit his powers but take very different paths, after suffering a childhood tragedy and losing each other. Subscribe, like, and enjoy!

And many people always like to "LOWBALL" my boys Dante, Vergil, Nero, and our rest of our Demon Hunters. Sparda when Chuck Norris mode against a entire Universe and seal it away, and by the time of Devil May Cry 5 Dante have surpass Sparda by stomping Urizen even after he ate the fruit. Not only that Dante alongside Vergil mange to seal the Demon World again, proving that our boys Dante and Vergil are at Universal level.

@@BlackenedAngel Dante surpassed Sparda by the dmc2 novel. Even though he sealed his power into the Sparda and the yamato/rebellion are considered 2 parts of his power remember those were his devil arms, not that he sealed his power in them kinda how rebellion is called a representation of Dantes power. Sparda still can hang with his sons, but they've undoubtedly left him in the dust by 5

@@vergilurizensparda644 He got wrecked by Nero (DMC4) because he never took him seriously in their first fight. Same with Urizen. His biggest weakness is cockiness. And with Nero and Urizen he was able to defeat them with much less effort during both their second battles.

@@The-Beyonder just remember that sparda beat mundus after he ate the fruit. People lowball sparda a Lot and forget that sparda sealed his own power in force edge, rebellion and Yamato. If anything dante and Vergil still use their father's power.

@@Metalgearfox2000 I know Sparda is downplayed a lot and yes he split his power into all three swords by an unknown ratio while still keeping himself alive and functional. You can definitely argue Sparda still keeps up with early-mid DMC5 Calibre characters like Pre-Fruit/Post-Fruit Urizen with 5's new scaling and info. The issue I've seen others have were discrepancies in evidence involving the statements in 1, anime, 2+ novel, and 4 included of Dante surpassing his father in skill/fighting(strength too) already made it seem Dante overcame the entire verse by at least the point of 2 having him stomp out multiple godtier demon Kings ala Void Mundus and Argosax's Despair Embodied like nothing.

I'm so happy you're going to be covering Devil May Cry, my favorite game series, in the same awesome video format you covered Castlevania! That being said, there's one piece of lore that you might want to double check about Dante and Ernest. Ernest specifically mentions that "Anthony" AND his mother were driven from town after the fire, so it had to be before Eva's death. Dante also repeatedly claims that he was not "Anthony," and we're never given direct evidence that he was. We see that the chest Anthony and Ernest buried is blue and gold, and the name written on top of it doesn't say "Anthony." While it's hard to see exactly what's written on the chest, it has Vergil's color scheme and the writing looks a lot like "Vergil," certainly more than it looks like "Dante." It's also mentioned in 5 the Vergil writes his name on stuff to show that it is his, since his twin brother claims ownership of many of his things otherwise. We never hear of Dante doing anything similar. Interestingly enough, if Dante does claim a lot of Vergil's things as his own, then him stealing Vergil's fake name after Dante needs a new identity and thinks his brother's dead could possibly explain why he goes by "Tony" later. tl;dr Anthony is likely Vergil, not Dante & it was also before Eva's death

Damn it, we should have a game about Sparda named Devil May Cry: The Legend of Sparda. It would be kickass to be playing as Dante and Vergil Father, we would be able to see how he talks and it would be awesome as well to see how they explained the magic system in the Devil May Cry Universe. I imagined that Sparda world and story would be like GOW 4 but with gothic style and other reinvented part instead. Come on, Devil May Cry team try to do one about Sparda already. I am sure a lot of fanboy would scream to their pant if they did announced that.

Fortuna is an area in Temin ni gru and the place where Nero lives. (No idea if there’s a Bayonetta equivalent.) Enzo however is originally Dante’s agent before Morrison from the DMC3 prequel manga. Enzo is later moved from the Devil May Cry series to Bayonetta’s, that I do know.

I'm regretting not being much of a comic book kinda guy cause I learned some other things from the video after this one, they do a good job bridging the gap between each game(and giving extra scenes like the one where Dante finds Nelo Angelo in the basement after their first fight but before their last). I had barely any clues regarding what happened with Vergil after DMC3(but before 1, just what you learn in DMC1 which was next to nothing save the fact he's Dante's long lost bro) so this was new to me despite being a fan ever since playing the demo back back on PS2. Oh hell yeah, a prequel has so much potential especially if it takes place before Sparda took on his human form. I really don't understand why this hasn't happened yet. Another one I'd like is one focused on Vergil taking place either before his visit to Fortuna or from the end of 1 to the start of 5(there's a story to told there imo). These are the best DMC uploads I've seen and might be the only ones I've seen that go into detail about the story and lore, the others were just short recaps. Edit: I really hope they add Vergil as a playable in 5, I'd seriously pay $15 just for that. He's so fun and interesting to play as I'm 4 so I can hardly imagine what he'd be like in 5 considering how damn amazing the gameplay is(and how his DT, or SDT, finally looks great imo)

Excellent video. One inaccuracy those is the fact that we don't know that it was actually Dante who lived in Morris Island as Anthony. In the 8th episode of anime, he frequently says that he is not Anthony and has no memory of any of the events. It is speculated that Vergil was in fact the one who was there, as there is a picture of a white haired child with the client of the week and a box with faded text that says "V--------". However, neither theory was confirmed and both have HUGE plotholes (If Dante was there, he was have memories of it and if Vergil was here, he probably wouldn't have a box with this name on considering his house burnt down, he changed his name and the guy wouldn't assume Anthony's name is Dante if he saw his best mate with a box with his name on)/
