I've followed the story since the rockfall but had no idea it was basically still there...amazing footage but you're very brave walking in that incredibly unstable area!

Tragic...... it was one of our most favourite go to places when visiting the island. I have one of the Wiggly plants from the forest, at that spot, in a pot on my kitchen window cill. Every time I water it I remember the marvelous Devils Chimney. Very brave to venture among it, but thank you as it has eased my own curiosity.

You cannot walk down the Chimney Steps I would advise you for safety reasons or anyone not to.

Extraordinary! Very intrepid to get there. I knew that the old cliff face and nearby features were still identifiable but didn't expect the rift itself to have have held on so well. It's all gone down like an elevator, but back-tilted - textbook rotational slide. What future rock features will there be to explore?

You can see the trees at the top have been pollarded, so they (the council, not the illuminati) were probably doing maintenance and keeping the area clear prior to this happening, ya know so it doesn't get overgrown and so people could have still used it without being killed by a widow-maker. There are no fresh woods shavings around them either. Cutting trees makes a lot of mess. So, unlikely to be a big mystery yet here we are on the internet having to have common sense.
