Hi Sue, Cliff has been recording since 1958. Give Move It a listen from the very beginning. He is now in his 80s & still playing live.

I remember this one on the radio in the US. The video is new to me, since this is well before MTV or most of us even had cable. Interesting point about the relatively unknown Richard (here) being so popular there in UK. I wonder how big the popular bands like GFR, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Jefferson Airplane were over there in UK. Glad you brought Mom along.

Hey Willieboy, yes it is so true. I agree with you. There are lots of bands that just don't make in roads into other countries other than their own country 🤩

Yay, another Cliff track! It's from the 1976 album 'I'm Nearly Famous,' which injected a lot of momentum into Cliff's lagging career. However, his record company refused to release it in America, and Cliff was obsessed with getting a #1 single here. Luckily, Elton John was a big fan and released it on his own label. "Devil Woman" was Cliff's biggest US hit, reaching #6. I looked up the Canadian singles charts because I wasn't familiar with them. Cliff had two #1s in Canada in the 1960s. Later, "Devil Woman" hit #4, along with "We Don't Talk Anymore" (1979), and "A Little in Love" (1980).

Hi Wayne, great to hear from you again. Yes this was a big hit for him in North America and the only one I knew before hearing Carrie. I will have to react to the other ones you mentioned. Thanks so much 🤩

Terry Britton wrote this song…from the I’m Nearly Famous album! Cliff said it was a cautionary tale…to steer clear of the occult. Being a committed Christian he said he had to change a few lyrics to stay away, look out etc. 1976.🇺🇸 I’m no hero, Everyman, Wired for Sound, …check out his KZbin channel. Move it, living Doll, Visions, the You g Ones, Summer Holiday, Miss You nights, Suddenly ( with Olivia Newton-John)…fun fact she started out as a backup singer in his Europe tour one year, then when he had his TV show ( he’s has several series) in the 70’s he had her on 8 shows. She moved to LA and made it big. She made the Movie Zgrease with zjihn Travolta and then Xanadu ( her costar couldn’t sing), so she called Cliff and asked him to sing with her on the song Suddenly! The official video shows the wonderful chemistry they had. He was deviated when she passed away from cancer.

It is my understanding that this song was used in the movie “I, Tanya” the movie about the infamous figure skater Tanya Harden. I’m not sure but I think I saw that version in the list of videos on Cliff Richard’s KZbin channel. Unfortunately the song is blocked here in the USA. I don’t know if it would be blocked in Canada as well. I remember seeing in a interview on KZbin (forgot what show it was perhaps Loose Women) Cliff said he was thrilled that the movie had decided to use one of his songs (or maybe just part of the song) in the movie. By the way the song was written by Terry Britten who also wrote the Tina Turner song “What’s Love Got To Do With It”. Terry also wrote a song especially for Cliff called “Rise Up” after his ordeal with the BBC and that nightmare that he went through. If I remember correctly I believe I heard “Rise Up” went to number one on the British charts in 2018 or 2019. As I am not British I am not certain if that is true or not. If there is anyone from the UK who reads this they might be able to tell us more about it.

Thanks Barbara! I will have to see if I can get that video here. It is weird how certain places get blocked from seeing them. I will go on Cliff's channel and look for it. It is a great song. 🤩

Hi Barbara, so I looked online and I saw about 3 different versions of the song that featured clips from the movie not sure which one you were speaking of directly but it does seem that I can access them here in Canada 🤗

I checked Cliff’s KZbin channel again and the song is no longer blocked here in the USA. It’s just the song with a picture of the movie poster. I thought it was blocked because it showed the scene from the movie where they played the song. Not sure why they had it blocked in the first place. Other songs that had been blocked are now unblocked, but videos that I used to watch are now blocked. Hopefully they will be unblocked again.

I have always liked Cliff and especially his backing group the Shadows who had an incredible success as a separate instrumental group. Try Cliff's first hit - Living Doll (spoofed by "The Young Ones" (UK TV series) recording with his particupation!)

@@stephenhowell5611 Yeah, like Terry co-wrote "What's Love Got To Do With It," and Cliff was a little upset (in a good-naturedly way) that it was given to Tina Turner instead of him, since she had a huge hit with it. Cliff did his own version later, but as much as I like him, hers is better.
