This was my first Yakuza game and had no knowledge of the others, I remember Nishiki being so valiant in protecting his friend and Reina sticking by him so well that I was quite torn up when fighting this battle. I think that is a testament to the game's narrative quality in that this was able to work so well for new and experienced players in different ways.

I felt really bad while beating up Nishiki as Majima. And yes, I know what he becomes after this game (I've played the series since the original on PS2). It just didn't feel right to wreck him at this point of the story, especially after what had just happened with Tachibana and the Kazama clan. Likewise, I did NOT enjoy beating the shit out of Kashiwagi. HELL NO. That one really felt bad if you've played the other games (especially Y3).

I’m convinced that it was intended to be a Nishiki/Majima game, but the Nishiki part of it is portrayed through the eyes of Kiryu, so you the player develop the bond with Nishiki vicariously Which is why when you play Kiwami after, it hurts so much more finishing this, cause you see why Kiryu held him so high in regard and how much he means to him
