I like how many things Devs changed from the original but they are still referencing almost everything from the original. Like dialogue and stances. I wished that they would have fought on a pyramid though. But this fight still looks hype as always.

Tazika if the game follow the manga, don't know if i'm wrong but i think(wish) this fight is only their first fight . So kenshiro will probably lose and there will be a second and final fight on the pyramid

@@njakatsifoiko I think this fight takes from both of their fights but it's definitely mostly the second. Kenshiro doesn't use tenha kassatsu the first time that they fight, and that move is what lets him beat souther.

Based on the way that Morinaga acted during the conclusion Nagusugai portion of Yakuza 5, it totally would've made more sense for him to be the final boss over Aizawa.

This is random and I probably sound like a broken record but after how well they pulled off their own story for Fist of the North Star. Sega should definitely try a Jojo ga Gotoku or CrowsxWorst Ga Gotoku (CrowsxWorst would be pretty cool since Hidenari, Majima’s VA actually voiced the first protagonist)

In the manga Souther says that Nanto Hooken "does not need a stance" since he is superior to everyone else in every single way. This mostly meant that he is too fast and too strong for people to actually hit him before they're dead and buried. But I guess they decided that's also how he's going to block. Just take it with open arms like a whore during Happy Hour.

The anime has an infuriating amount of filler (since it was created parallel to the manga's creation and had to create filler whenever it was about to speed past the canon story) but it has some really well crafted scenes, when it comes to emotions, use of songs and voice acting (which the manga of course lacks). The battle against Souther and his death scene (and the preceeding scene featuring Shuu) are some of my favourite when it comes to cinematography and pretty much every scene featuring Raoh is great as well. Maybe just because he is my favourite character of the series and one of my favourite antagonists in fiction, but still. Slogging through all the filler episodes, which really clash with the tonality of the rest of the series, is the really hard part. Honestly, I've never watched the entire anime either, just the most important battles and scenes. The rest I've read in the manga.

The name Nanto Hoohken translates to “Fist of the Phoenix“, which is why it is a nice touch that Souther crashes into the bird statue and has it crumble upon his defeat.

Yes, all of the Nanto Seiken styles are bird-themed. Rei is Suichou-Ken, which is a waterfowl (swan). Souther has Houou-Ken, that of a phoenix.

Also Shin's Nanto Koshu ken is an eagle. The fighting styles are based of the birds after they are named. Eagle/Koshu Ken : Stabbing motions with you hands, fingers and legs. Swan/Suichou Ken : Gracefull powerfull sweeps cause a swans while gracefull can pack a mean punch. Phoenix/Ho-oh Ken : Most powerful because the phoenix is the king of birds.
