I've been a Luthier & on the road guitar tech since 1980. I've been able to keep Gibsons & even old Strats quiet. If you have a EMG humbuckers, try the BTE controller. It boosts bass & treble and dips the mids. Gives an almost acoustic clean tone. I really like EMG Single coils, they really are EMG's best PU's. The Gilmour set is amazing. But that 81 is like a spike going through my ears. The BTE helps a lot & it gives you a tone control that actually does something.

There's a meditation center a few minutes away from where i live, and though it's a public medication center, it's mainly full of monks, like ACTUAL practicing monks(robe, shaved head, etc) - And when i went there, they actually heavily enjoy his music, especially GHOST for obvious reasons. Although I've enjoyed his music for such a long time, it's really amazing to see him branch so much, especially so that even all groups and types of people enjoy him. He went from a heavy-extreme industrial band to a solo project that in the end is celebrated well among the underground community. It's good to see how far he's come. He's earned his jelly donut in my book :)

I think because he uses the Axe-Fx live and in ear monitors theres not a huge amount of volume on stage. So that would make feedback much less of a problem.

I agree completely. They have some advantages on stage though. Very quiet, long cable runs & you're disconnected from potential ground faults. Les Paul himself invented & swore by low impedance pickups. But I agree, they lack tone. But Framus' play extremely well & they are built to last

I got one of these when my Grandfather passed away 10 years ago. He as a country musician back in the 50s to the 80s. just took it out to play it for the first time. I don't much about the guitar and I'm trying to learn more. It looks similar to yours but has a sunburst finish. I know my grandfather bought it before I was born, so It's at least early 70s, but I think its from the 50s or 60s. Is there a good reference for these type guitars, and where do you find the model number on these?
@FramusWarwickOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, Serial Number can usually be found on the inside of the instrument, on a sticker, for those old models.
@IndyRockStar3 жыл бұрын
@@FramusWarwickOfficial Thank you! I took it to a Luthier and he found out it's a De Luxe 6 (5/121T). It still had strings on it from the 70s. I'm having the guitars electronics checked out, cleaned, and the guitar set up this week. Thanks again for answering.

Framus makes a great guitar. The one he's playing is probably $7k. They have $3.5k Korean made guitars. You could put those pickups in a boat oar & it would sound the same. Why waste the money on a Framus if your going to install EMG's? Oh, he's not paying.

"Very quiet" From my experience, Gibson SG's (or perhaps ALL Gibson solidbodies) have very noisy wiring. I had an SG Special that hummed so loud, I put EMG's to negate the noise. After putting the EMG's, it was silent enough to hear a pin drop. Distortion was great; however, the clean tone (or lack thereof) for R&B/Funk comping was driving me up the wall. I now have a pair of high-output Dimarzio's that sound 100 times better overall, and I'll just have to deal with that annoying Gibson hum.
