Didn't eat it, I kept it in my fridge for +3 years but eventually had to throw it away because it had mold. I got Alien and Ocean Machine signed aswell so it wasn't a big deal =)

That's really funny, and goes to show his autograph is a mold inhibitor :) I probably would have eaten the autographed burger while he was signing the albums.

This reminded me of something that happened to me and a friend a couple years ago. I follow Anneke van Giersbergen on Facebook and she made this post about being offered to dj at a metal club, which was her first time ever djing. Well she posts the set list for the night, which she got to choose. 20 out of 20 songs were among some of my favorites. I shared it with my friend and he was like "my God... that's like my top 20 list!"

i've listened and played drums to metal, prog, etc. dream theater, opeth, soilwork, heard of hoglan via death, etc and just now getting into devin. i've dipped into some of his records but didn't like what i heard at the time - i was too into the catchy bad-ass intro riff's that you can blast with your windows down as you're pulling into a parking lot. devin is on a whole other musical level. his music is like a soap opera, you have to start from the beginning. the recent short documentary clips and the making of transcendence really got me into devin. I can listen to his latest song "Failure" and get lost... this man will really connect you with the music, thanks devin, how can i be part of your team?

What I would do to just be able to sit down like that and have a conversation with Devin. He is without a doubt one of my biggest role models. It’s hard for me to even think I would ever have a chance to be something in the musical realm considering how the industry is these days, but Devin never fails to inspire and give me hope. I too was never a cool kid in school which also helps me to say screw it when I’m playing my own music. Imagine how people probably look at him now. What a legend!

Cool thoughts from him on how once he's done metal, everyone relates his work back to that. "Oh but you started by doing metal, so yeah" Like Steven Wilson now, going back to pop stuff, which people are hating since it isn't the prog he got popular with.

As a metal fan and a MASSIVE Devin Townsend fan as well, I have to take issue with the suggestion that we are trying to figure Mr Townsend out. I have written to the man himself on this very topic before now, saying what I will say now. I am not trying to figure him out. I am merely honoured to be allowed to watch him grow through his music, merely blessed to have seen him live. We are being permitted to watch him figure himself out, and that is a journey that I have followed with absolute joy for many, many years, every moment of which has been a pleasure. One thing I wrote to him also, was that he does not need to explain himself to us verbally, or with a little set of pictograms. He speaks to us, whether he means to or not, every time he plays a note, every time he sings a tune, every single facial expression on stage, telling a story about himself, quite apart from the narrative he intends. We love the guy to death, because we know he loves what he does, and that is a beautiful thing to bear witness to.
