Love when someone tries to answer back to the ref and their Captain tells them to shut up
@starskunk
@starskunk 4 жыл бұрын
It's 'cause in rugby, far as I understand from other videos, a team can be penalized for a player talking back to the ref. So part of the captain's job is to keep control of their players, that's why the captain of each offending team when a penalty is called are called to the ref as well as the offending players being binned, sent off, or otherwise penalized.
@PropBoyGinge
@PropBoyGinge 2 жыл бұрын
The Captain is responsible for their teams discipline. Also he's the only one supposedto talk to the ref. When other players start chopsing at us as well, especially if we're trying to stamp out niggle between the teams. Also shouting at us and trying to influence a decision will usually have the opposite effect.

As a football / soccer referee it's great to see the interaction and MUTUAL respect between the officials and the players. Both parties appear to be equally willing to talk and LISTEN to each other - the referee explains what law dictates and the reason for their decision, but also listen to what the players have to say as there may be something the referee isn't seeing or hearing. Great stuff devinZA, thank you for uploading. Could you upload Compilation #10 again please? Thanks :)

I love this game and one of the most astounding points of difference is the quality of Ref the IRB and the various unions keep producing. One man, a whistle and two and a half assistants to control 30+ hyper-aggressive men, with a recalcitrantly shaped ball and some arcane Laws, at speed, for over an hour of devious chicanery. No they don't apply every Law, every time but what they do is incredible. Try it some time. At 15 I tried to ref a bunch of 12 year olds, J.... F...... C......! Probably still scarred.

That's because the captain is responsible for his own teams discipline... for instance continuous penalties, call the captain over and ask him to have a word with his team to cut it out. If that doesn't work then we warn him it has to stop, or the next player goes in the bin. If it happens again, the next player's in the bin. Funny how it stops after that.

It-s about time football referees got tough. Zero tolerance should be the name of the game. Anybody back chatting or haranguing the ref should be sent off. And all the diving should be red carded imnediately. Neymaier would then be out of a job very quixkly. I guarantee that after one season, football would become watchable again.

can anyone explain what happens at 2:27, I don't get what was that player doing behind the ruck, and the referee says tackle only no offside, what does he mean by that?
@stewartbrodie1720
@stewartbrodie1720 3 жыл бұрын
You cannot be offside at a tackle breakdown because the offside line only comes into being once the tackle becomes a ruck. (Up until February 2017,) a ruck is not formed until a second player from the defending side joins the breakdown. Since no defenders apart from the tackler were involved in the breakdown, there was no ruck. Hence the defenders were free to dance around and obstruct the attacking side on their side of the tackle area without being offside. This law was changed in the aftermath of the Italy vs England match in the 2017 6 Nations, where Italy did the same thing and completely confused the England players.

I think 90% of the reason why soccer doesn't have the discipline like this is the referees own fault. They have let it come way to far. Swearing at the referee? BOOM That's a yellow card. Acting like you fall when no one even touches you ? BOOM yellow. And then they say: yea but than there will be no players left at the end of the match. No it won't. If they know they will get yellow it will take just minutes before they understand. It's really embarrassing the sport the way the players in soccer behave. It's a bad example for the children watching the sport and see their hero's go mental towards a referee. Or simply trying to cheat by acting like they get hit or whatever. If they would announce tomorrow that from now these kind of actions WILL result in a yellow card with no exceptions it will just take a week and maybe a couple of strange matches and then the sport would be totally different.

This is a rugby video so no need for pot shots at football Rugby fans are blind by their hatred of football their 2 different sports with different cultures the fact they can't go a single video without mentioning football is irritating rugby Is a great sport but the fan's attitude towards a different sport isn't right yes diving is a problem And the standard of officials is awful football is more of a flowing game where the referee has one glance and call it rugby is different the referee can stop the game give his reasons to call a decision

Are you talking about the girl who gets a yellow card? If that's so and if you're still interested to know who she is, she's Caroline Boujard

8:37 is the wrong call, the ref has called it based on what he's seen in real time but the tackle clearly starts at chest height and slips up because the player is holding the ball against his chest. It's a yellow card and nothing more.

Hate to correct you but the arm being high and hitting the head neck area is really dangerous, even clothes lining someone like that is definitely a red card

@@johnathonwaggoner358 Love to correct you, but you're allowed to tackle at chest height. The arm slipping up is dangerous, hence the yellow, but never a red.

He might be not a top tier but still, coming to the conclusion where you have to hate him, I think that's too far. He is a decent enough player.

Good job they don’t have yellow sin bin cards in football, there would only be the ref and the two goalkeepers left on the field. Rugby a mans game played by hard men who respect the refs unlike the overpaid soccer powder puffs who fall over at the slightest touch and scream in the refs face at every decision they don’t like.

Terry, this is a rugby video, so why bring up football? By spouting this sort stuff you are actually putting people off rugby and impeding the sport's growth, so please stop.
