Yeah Devon's just too big for that class. Oleg was probably a lot closer to actually being 105kg at the table, and Devon was probably closer 110-112kg. I honestly don't like when people severely dehydrate just to make a weight class, whether it's wrestling, UFC, or whatever.

@@user-wl2md5kz7k Because in reality, the advantage goes to whoever can successfully dehydrate and rehydrate the most successfully. Devon is really good at making weight, so you get a situation like this, Oleg who is a very dominant 105er getting absolutely demolished by someone much bigger that just happens to be able to cut enough to make 105, and then rehydrate for the match. It's nothing against Devon, I don't like it in general. I think they should make weigh-ins closer to match time, to discourage that.

Oleg’s face looked so much more puffed up during the event, I’m estimating he was also around 110-112 during match time. Devon was probably closer to 115

The only reason they didn't allow it was because they didn't know how to and probably didn't want to because thought it'd somehow was unsportsmanlike. But nothing about it was illegal, you can hear Neil and Travis saying during that itr was still within the rules, and if you watched the rules meeting this was brought up. That had no argument against it because it's still within the rules, but they had no answer as to why not which was the point Devon was trying to make about the rules.

Devon has a choice. He can either continue dominating the lower weight classes or he can return to SHW where he can hope to rise to #2. I think it would be better for him to compete in SHW so he can leave a legacy of a fighter not a underachiever.

@@jhonnyaska9391 When he retired from SHW division a few months ago. You can't be inactive in a division and expect to hold your ranking. The SHW division athletes are actively competing, improving and reestablishing rankings. Devon must be actively competing and defending his ranking, otherwise he is removed. That's what happened to Levan when he got injured and was placed as "unranked." Devon was awarded the interim title till Levan returned and reclaimed his title.
