People hate him because they can't understand him. People now are just too soft I guess. They are overlooking his sacrifices in making the Sport great and showing to people there's more to armwrestling than two guys who just want to pin each other down. He's proving to everyone that there's much more to armwrestling than what other armwrestlers think it has. Petrenko surely has reflected and learned things from their match and will come back better and stronger. Devon does so much for the sport, yet people are ovelooking this just because they're pissed off at what he does on the table and how he promotes the sport, yet they still watch every single video of him. You can hate him all you want, but can't deny that he's done so much for the sport and if you love Armwrestling, you should learn to appreciate what he does. He does 5 or 10 good things for the sport and yet people only notice the 1 or 2 bad things he did. Imagine the sport without him. Engin: ''what do you think the chance he beat you?" Guy 1: "50-50." Engin: "Okay, how about you? Do you think he has any chance to beat you?" Guy 2: "No." Engin: "... How about you georian boy? He said he will bury you to the ground." Georgian boy: (speaks 10 sentences in georgian) Translator: "He said he will bring the shovel.'" Engine: "And lastly you Kazakhstan boy, do you think he'll beat you tomorrow?" Kazakhstan Boy: "We'll see." Engin: "Okay thanks everyone make sure you buy the pay per view!" If you can keep up with that good for you. But Devon and some others are the only one who know how to talk, entertain and sell it. Hey, you can even say Armwrestling is still great without him, but it would not be this great without him. The sport needs money, new people, young people, sponsors, etc. to be able to operate and be great. And Devon has done the most in making this happen, and will continue to do more in the future. If you think that's not true then who's the one who's doing it then? Who's the face of Armwrestling right now then?

how come so many opponents other than likes of Levan and perhaps Vitaly fail to understand that Devon's fight does not commence on the table but already the moment a contract for a fight is signed - he is a wholesome warrior - he does not attack the body alone but begins by chipping away at the opponents mental resolve, there's a reason he tattooed 'give up' on his hand haha I find this tactic not as honourable but sure is entertaining and is used in real war - Devon does consider sports games to be equivalent to war but where nobody dies so ... :D go figure - to fight Devon you gotta either understand him and not allow his games to get to you, by understanding it's his tactic only - or parley and instil doubt into him by trash talking back, using various strategies where you investigate your opponents weak points and exploit them actively, relentlessly, without mercy :D During Levan - Devon match, what Levan did, from what I understand - is he truly did not care about Devon's talk, as he understood it's just his fear-mongering tactic, which allowed him to retain his confidence in himself - it was soon apparent that Devon noticed he's not getting through to Levan's mental resolve and was on many occasions confused looking for a way in but saw none so he just gave up, which was made quite apparent by his less vocal attitude whilst awaiting the match day. end of the day, if you don't got the strength, physical and mental, but physical strength first somehow, then no matter the trash talk or how mentally you are stable or wrecked - you ain't getting nowhere against a stronger opposition :D
