John - Thank you for the comments on President Carter. I look forward to each of your videos, and learn something new with each one. New music, new artists and new gear. Happy New Year and happy listening, Chris.

I worked for Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer right out of college. One day, President Carter showed up, hammer in hand, and helped us frame a house which I later learned would be the home for a poor woman with four children, He was a kind, humble and brilliant man who truly cared about his fellow man. R.I.P. Mr. President.

John- nice tribute to President Carter. Thank you for all the content this past year. Nice speakers as well! I’ve greatly enjoyed every model of your speakers I’ve heard. Wishing you the best for 2025 and beyond.

Hi John, nice tribute to Jimmy Carter ..... 🙏Requiescat in pace 🙏 As a German who was born in 1969 I didn't catch much of Jimmy Carter and his presidency. But to learn that he likely was an audiophile who had installed a high end audio system in the Oval Office and that he expanded the White House's record collection makes him a likeable person to me. My HiFi journey started about the beginnings of the 80s and it hasn't come to an end yet. One of the reasons why I'm really looking forward to 2025 is because I'm going for a speaker upgrade next summer. And very likely it will be a pair of Gibbon Super Nines. Since I always like to watch your customers's system photos I will proudly send you one of my system then. Thank you for your awesome work. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and thank you so much for creating those wonderful sounding pieces of art! The followers of your channel as well as the DeVore loudspeaker owners around the globe, the current and the prospective ones, we all gain from you. Please continue with what you do and how you do it, and have a 🌠Happy New Year 🌠 With kind and audiophile regards from the 🌲Black Forest 🌲 ..... Christian H.

There is a great photo of Jimmy, Roselyn and Charlie Mingus in the Rose Garden. Mr Mingus was brought to tears with the encounter. The expression on everyone face are so human and last a life time.

John, i love the comments on jimmy carter. He was such a nice man. I got to meet both he and Rosalyn at different times in the mid 70’s. Our politics were different, but i do agree with you that the principles that guided his life were not from himself. To think that his faith and his ideals made a difference is to understand the heart of his faith. I so appreciate your tribute, as well as your recommendation of palastrina. I have not listened to his music in some time, so am happily pulling it out for a listen tomorrow!

I didn't know that Pres. Carter was so interested in music & HiFi. I agree with your evaluation of one of our best Presidents!

Thank you, John, for all your insightful & interesting videos-as well as, being a wonderful person. We all need to strive to be like Jimmy Carter(regardless of your politics): intelligent but humble, give to those in need, be spiritual not judgmental &, of all, cherish the joy of music with good audio, of course. Happy New Year 🎊 to all. ✌🏼& 🎼

Jimmy Carter was a huge jazz fan - need we say more Did not know he did “Salt Peanuts” with Diz - classic As with any leader I didn’t agree with all his decisions (but mostly yes) - however, I always deeply respected Jimmy Carter I loved him and his humanity and decency is badly in need (on both sides) I wish I had a Billy Beer to raise in his memory

Having just watched the second series of the Wolf Hall drama, the life of Thomas Cromwell and his interaction with Henry the Eighth The music took me straight back to that marvellous program. I imagine this music to have been played in Henry’s court and I guess the timing is right, 1530’s onwards. Thank you for your thoughtful and insightful videos this year, I’ve enjoyed them tremendously.

Yes, Carter was a kind person with empathy for his fellow human beings. The thought of January 20th makes one shudder at what is now in store for the United States and the world. Western democracies are facing a breaking point, and not just in the USA. We will have to fight for our freedom and values again if the diehards take power.

The Palestrina blows the mind. And as for Carter’s love of music-“Just a minute, Walter. This guy is in trouble. Let me talk him down.” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2ebmoesnbyBeJIsi=Ay0wMHhE1NxKGFt1
