Reminds me of my grandmother. She was 96 year old, just two months before she passed away. She wasn’t feeling well and pushed herself to get up. And you could tell she was in so much pain but even then she still shows concern for her daughter. Told her daughter not to burn herself in hot water for her swollen ankles and still referred her as her baby. She even took care of her son in law before he passed away.

My mother who is 82 has taken care of me the last two years while I fought an aggressive cancer. I’m 63 now. She flew out to KY twice and moved me back to her town because they said I was dying. All is good now I’m in remission and living on my own again. Real mothers and fathers are always mothers and fathers. ❤ to all parents out there. We ‘children’ couldn’t live without them.

I think one reason that parents age is when they feel like their children have become independent and their be purpose is limited. They don't understand that it now the children's turn to return that love by taking care of the people that had always taken care of the. Families are forever.

agreed, I feel so bad for him. I have seen many an elderly couple taking care of older children with disabilities. It's really sad because it should be the other way around, at that age they should be cared for. Children with very severe disabilities have nobody left when the parents die, and this is a thought that just keeps those parents up at night. I know people say disabilities are blessings but they I think as both parties age, it does become harder.

Sir You are the one of best Dads in the world. You set a goal for younger generations, how to be responsible towards their children no matter at what age you are. Hatsoff to you.😘

Such a Great Dad, yet so humble! "You are a good man" just what Judge Frank Caprio(another great person) said. This is what we all fathers aspire to be. May Victor Colella and his son be blessed greatly. There is still hope in this world when one encounters stories like this. Gorgeous Kim, great job jumping on this story! awesome! Thank you!

Wish I still had my dad - he was born 1926 but died in 2012. People of that generation can teach us a thing or two. ❤. Lovely story.

Breaks my heart seeing this father's love. I have a disabled son. I worry how long I'll be around to take care of him. He's my whole world and depends on me. I hope I'm as lucky as this man to be around for my boy. As my son's father doesnt care about him. ❤

Is there a go fund me or something for this man? I've been looking everywhere. I would happily donate something.
I checked on GoFundMe.com, and as of March 2021, the page for Mr. Coella has apparently been taken down (was listed as "Campaign Not Found").
