Tips for anyone going for this: 1.) you can get the Darmuluwan mission complete by walking around the native lands of sulawesi. 2.) The mission that converts your tribs to vassals will allow any number of tribs to convert to vassal. SAVE THIS FOR AFTER YOU GET SHOGUNATE. 3.) For the reason above get as many tributaries as possible (it doesn't count towards dip relations), and if a nation has tribs (e.g Malacca) full annex them to steal them. 4.) Make sure you form Malaya BEFORE becoming shogunate, otherwise you wont get access to the CB against the world. Happy WCing everyone!

why not form siam instead and get their +2 diplo rep and -15% diplo annexation cost, combine with influence ,admin, quality, ideas/policies, estate privilege, and parliment debate you can get 85% diplo annex cost reduction and diplo annex the whole world

I use the CB just to facilitate a much faster and care free traditional expansion (as opposed to a vassal swarm). Once I form the Malayan Shogunate, I centralize and start rushing west as fast as I can, only using the subjugation CB to destroy nations and take limited provinces to increase my coring range or trade network. With the large nations, I just concentrate all of their dev then release them to burn off AE. I basically have to waves of conquest, the first to destroy the nation and increase my range in my race west, and the second to actually mop up and create trading companies once I have the time and admin points to core provinces (and occasionally actually vassalize and integrate). Since I am also releasing the nations in between, AE basically stays at zero the entire game no matter how aggressive I am. Once the age of absolutism hits, you can then take the Chakravarti mission to switch off of Shogunate, and start tag switching to pick up diplo annexation and province warscore modifiers. Whether you go with the full on vassal swarm, or my tactic to just spread out across the map quickly and burn off AE before stacking modifiers, I think Majapahit is the easiest nation to complete a WC with. A horde can be quicker overall, but taking any country in one war in the early game and having a get out of any coalition free card makes it much less of a hassle.

It would, however only works for HRE member subjects. So you'd have to convert them, and only the smaller ones could join

2 things I would do differently in the early game 1. Choose Surya, it gives you chance of an event for an insane heir if you do not have one 2. No cb Sunda, youre gonna lose the stability anyways might aswell gank Sunda while they have no allies and get the free powerprojection by rivaling them just before attacking them

There is only one problem with this strategy, by not conquering the land directly there is so many small nations in the game that the game will be unbearably laggy by 1600. That's why Mughals or Oirat or something are still the best WC nations, you have to micro a bit more but at least you can click buttons without every click processing for 10 seconds.

I think the best ideas would be influence and merc. Influence because infinite money and force limit and merc to have infinite manpower. You dont have many provinces so not enough manpower and mercs are probably the best option. You can ofc also just let the swarm kill everyone but its not as fast as using mercs because the vassals get tons of autonomy from being constantly at war

Btw good idea. Mercs can be used to quickly capture wargoal, because vassals prefer to mindlessly carpet siege.

Basically you just need to move your capital to Japan, accept Japanese culture, conquer Kyoto, and then just start finishing your mission tree. Getting to Japan is a tricky part, but aside from this everything is simple

Good question actually. I guess there won't be much difference with shogunate, they work quite similar. But forming HRE will only annex HRE vassals, I guess.

After 1.35 Japan has tendecy to be united by Ashikaga before 1500 pretty often.

1490 is safe date, if you take longer, Japan might unite and you can forget about shogunate. Also by 1490-s there should be some OPM daimyos left to enforce peace.

eyelets give you a MANPOWER and money ! while vassals dont. however, all vassals participate in war while its impossible to micro adding all eyelets to participate in your wars. if you want less siege micro and conserve your manpower siegeing provinces, vassal is better. if you can micro wars well on your own, eyelets are way better. they are 25% cheaper to integrate as well

@@CheezeLord you're right . vassals do give money. but they do not give manpower. that is the gamechanger with eyelets. with ottomans, you can reach 60-90k max manpower by diplovassalizing+eyelet all arabian minor nations by 1450s. its really really op. when i was in 1540s,i was getting 7-8k manpower per month or something

Would it not be better to diplo annex the tiny nations using the reduction in cost as soon as you can? They basically don't contribute any soldiers/money and it would help you become stronger reducing the liberty desire of the vassals that do benefit you.
