That is not a power broker, it is simply a variable speed control. A power broker will reduce the vacuum's speed depending on what you plug in tool is drawing, automatically.

Great machine and great video. You did a good job showing everything it can do. I especially like the auto on/off feature.

I am sorry to say you have a wrong impression: is is a MEDIOCRE machine and it is prone to suffer a failed outlet.Mine failed son and DeWalt only sells a complete module replacement at an outrageous price. I had to go to an experienced electronics repair shop that substituted the failed part (don't remember excactly if it was a Triac or a Thyristor) and used a much beffier part, and more importantly, added a better protection against the inevitable voltage spikes that ALL electric motors produce when stopped, including the very electric tool that this damn unit shoud have been designed to power!

Have you tried it with a drywall sander, and do the have bags to fill to protect the filters make them last longer?

Been doing so much work in my shop with a dust cloud leaving all the doors open. I have a Stihl Se122 shop vac but it still doesn’t really do anything for the dust. Was really wondering how well his would work. Thanks for the review have you tried the DEWALT DWV9402 Fleece Bag for DWV012 Dust Extractor. It didn’t look like you had a bag in there in the video just something to save on the filters

DeWALT says it supports DeWALT Wireless Tool Control but I do not see how since it does not have the DeWALT Wireless Tool Control logo. Can you explain?

Great video John, however a word of warning for users of the M class version in the UK . I have found this vac does not work with any small tools with a small aperture i.e tools such as jig saws sanders etc of say 25mm apature or lower because the M class model features an alarm which goes off because it thinks the hose is blocked.

@sleepymoose1 Жыл бұрын
@@markdeane3115 Hi, from what I can remember I found and unscrewed the area where the alarm is housed and just disabled it, I have never had any problems since doing that and it's a fantastic extractor particularly with my Thine baffle and dust collector which means I only need to change the bag around once a year!

That is a nice vac. It is expensive but it is HEPA rated. Thanks for the review John.

All the 8 dust extractors that another video tested here on You Tube are HEPA, but all seven other brands were way better than the DeWalt. Look for them.

Great review John!! Seems a lot better than the Festool vacuum.
@alfredomarquez97775 жыл бұрын
Seems? IT SEEMS You are WRONG. The Festool is much more expensive BUT much better too. Look for a test comparison of eight different dust extractors in You Tube, the best ones were very expensive but effective. The Makita was very close to the two best, and had a much affordable price. the DeWalt was the worst of all them. I regret having bought the deWalt without searching enough You Tube... and to really screw me, it failed its outlet leaving e with a mediocre and expensive vacuum that required an expensive repair (albeit not as expensive as DeWalt´s replacement module) that revealed that the damn DeWalt's circuit is NOT well designed and is prone to fail.
@pomonabill2205 жыл бұрын
@@alfredomarquez9777 Maybe instead of knocking the Dewalt, you should use a filter bag as a prefilter, and read the reviews about the Makita! I almost bought the Makita, but when I saw the quality of the hose, the fact that it is tall and falls over, that was a deal breaker for me. And also the weird HEPA filter they use and the cost. AND the Makita is NOT a HEPA vac. You have to BUY the extra filter, at $100, to make it a HEPA vacuum! The Dewalt IS rated for HEPA/RRP. It is the only one of the 7 reviewed you talk about, that moves MORE than 150 CFM which is needed to get the HEPA/RRP rating. Ya have to research all of it before you start slandering the vacuums.

You really need to see a video comparison of 8 dust extractors to find that DeWalt came in LAST among them. I did the REGRETABLE mistake of buying DeWalt without searching enouh in You Tube... Now not only did I buy a mediocre one, but it failed soon its electrical outlet, so I had to learn the hard way that DeWalt designed wrongly the oultlet circuit, and that the repair is expensive as they charge a high amount to replace the entire module, and that the module was badly designed so it is prone to fail again.

What is worst: it is a mediocre performer when compared to another seven models from other brands, and it is prone to fail in its electrical outlet. Please see my comments above.

Thanks for your effort and hassle in putting out this video, BUT; please go and see by yourself another video which compared the DeWalt to 7 other brands and models: the damn DeWalt came in LAST among the eight!. And I'm making this comment because I have a DeWalt and its performance is NOT what I desired or expected. And what is worst: the damn automatic tool power outlet failed soon to power any tool that is plugged into it. Now (too late), I've learned to my dismay that this is a common problem with DeWalt dust extractors, it seems that the Triac or Thyristor used by them is just too delicate (Read: TOO CHEAP) and/or too unprotected to hold against the amperage draw of common electrical tools and their inductive loads (its not only the amperage, but the voltage spikes that ALL electrical motor tools produce every time their motors are stopped. To really f*ck the owner, DeWalt only offers the entire failed module replacement at a huge cost, so be warned: unless you want a mediocre vacuum that has a failure prone automatic tool outlet, keep away from DeWalt's. BTW, Apart from the expensive (and much better performing) other brand's dust extractors, the MAKITA one was NOT expensive and ran very close to the very best of them, making a good example of how SHOULD DeWalt design and price their tools. Be warned that this DeWalt dust extractor is a mediocre vacuum when comapred to oher brands (not as powerful vacuum, and vacuum drops off as soon as the filters get half loaded with dust), and that it is also prone to fail its outlet, so in the end you could end up with a mediocre and expensive vacuum only. As DeWalt´s local repair shop charges a too high amount to replace the badly designed module that fails, I went to an electronic repair shop that fixed it: their opinión is that the part that fails is too flimsy for the job and that the circuit lacks a proper Voltage Spike Protection elements they had to add, as they told me, they don't want me to return soon to replace that part again and again.
