Ive saved so much money buying used 18-volt DeWalt and using a cheap adapter I bought off amazon. I haven't had a problem with it draining battery

The black and red Waitley battery adapter also works with Milwaukee batteries. That's what I currently use it for. I still use my Dewalt 18V tools.

Great video... nicely done! I have two DC 759 187 volt drills and the batteries are dying. I purchased off brand batteries in 2019 and they just aren't lasting. I wanted to try the adapter with my Black and Decker 20v batteries and I have a few of them. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be an adapter that goes from the LBXR20 B & D to the DC 759 18v drills. This video gave me another option to buy a new drill with the batteries and then get a converter. Thanks!

I use DeWalt, Bostitch and Milwaukee 20v batteries in my older 18v tools

Thank You very much. Your explanation was the BEST of all. You even helped me "un-stick" my Dewalt battery adapter from my saw. Thanks again... you should have 20,000 likes (19K reviews???? people can't take a second to hit Thumbs Up???)

Glad to hear it helped. Thanks for the like also. Most people just move on and won't take a second to hit the button. The "like" helps You Tube understand what videos to promote. Thanks again.

DeWalt needs to come down to earth and quit being so greedy. They have nothing that is worth paying that much for OEM batteries. Way too many high quality options for much cheaper today.

great thanks .. ask Santa for a wireless mic for Christmas.. the sound would be so much better
@FixItDepot12 күн бұрын
Yea sorry about that. The sound issue was due to the small 12x16 workshop I was in. I probably need to remake the video. I did get a remote mic after this video. Thanks for watching.

you didnt mention if you can recharge the 20v with the adapter in the old charger
@FixItDepot9 ай бұрын
You cannot charge the 20V battery in the old 18V charger. The 20V battery is not compatible with it. DeWalt designed the adapter so that it will not go all the way into the old charger. There is a problem with some of the cheaper Chinese adapters that will allow you to charge it in old charger. This could be a fire hazard and it is not recommended. I have another video explaining the different adapters if you are interested. Thanks for watching.

Too bad, I slowly switch everything to Milwaukee M12.

YES the dewalt 20V adapter will drain and even kill the lithium battery so you MUST change your habits and remove the lithium battery EVERY TIME you finish using the tool. This is not easy to remember as normally you don't need to remove the battery from other tools so you have to change your workflow or you end up damaging the battery by forgetting to remove it. Terrible design by Dewalt!!! the adapter should not drain the lithium battery but it definitely does.

The DeWalt converters are horrible. I can't get the battery off the adapter and I can't get the adapter off the drill. Horrible.

I like Dewalt products a lot, but they missed the target with the adapter.
