Apologies for the lack of uploads! I’ve been busy working on site, then one of the huge trees blew over in a storm. It’ll be months before I get the other garage rebuilt, so I have very limited room in my other garage. If anyone has ever dealt with an insurance company, you can imagine how annoying and time consuming the whole process is! I hope everyone has a great Sunday 😉

Sorry to hear about the damage caused . I've got the same saw . Its very handy . I bought it when a friend was quoted £650 to take down a dangerously leaning tree . The pair of us spent a day together . Me cutting , he fetching and carrying . It's a lightweight tool , we ran it on 5ah batteries . It spurts out a fair amount of oil . Easy to dismantle and clean . My friend paid me £275 so got the tool for free

I forgot to mention about the amount of oil that it uses! It’s really noticeable when compared to a Stihl chainsaw, as the saw dust is much drier and contains much less oil! I like jobs like that, where I get the tool for free 👍

I have this. It’s reassuringly solid and can cut decent sized logs (manufacturer states 26cm) but can obviously do broader with multiple cuts. Reasonably fast for battery powered and noise not too bad. Great for light home use and some car camping. With anything battery is the main drawback

Insurance companies behaving badly. They should be compelled to deliver within a reasonable (for the insured) period. That is quite a potent little chain saw!

Bloody ell Chez.... looks like squirrel sabotage on that tree before it went down... shame you do not have a log burner... you would be set for life... I got one of those handheld chainsaws.. its pretty good always worrys me though its not the saw its maintaining/sharpening the blade.. good to see you back we all will stick around no problem..vids or not N x

Hi Neil, Yeah, that poor squirrel must have needed a new pair of underpants after the tree fell. Most of the wood has gone to friends with wood burners, the larger stuff is going to the wood carver, who is cutting up the tree 👍 Thanks for the comment 👍

Yeah, it was such a shame. The tree is probably 300+ years old, but the sodden ground due to the vast amount of rain and the high winds just blew it over. The insurance claim is still ongoing, I’ll be glad once it’s all sorted! Thanks for the comment 👍

Great chainsaw, and great to have a new video, was just wondering how you were doing. I hope your insurance company gets things sorted. I had to make a claim a few years ago for a damaged garden wall. The concept of time or deadlines is non-existant with them, had to phone again and again for months to chase them on their progress. Looks like some nice timber anyway!

​@Puremaintenances I have the Milwaukee M18 with a 16" bar. I purchased chisel tooth chains for it. It cuts fast. FYI: If you are an average "homeowner" guy without a lot of experience, please do NOT buy a chisel tooth blade. It can cause serious bodily damage. Also, the Kolbalt 40 and 80 volt saws are BEASTS. Yeah, absolutely! If the tree had fallen a few degrees in the other direction, it could have killed a few of us. The tree probably weighed 60-80 ton in total! Thanks for the comment 👍

No, I should have mentioned in the video, that I check the oil level each time I swap batteries. If it is run with no oil, it can damage the chain and bar- it will probably start burning first, due to the friction! Thanks for the comment 👍

@@ultimatehandyman is that because of problems with the claim or getting someone who actually wants to work for a living, although good outfits will have work booked months ahead, so anyone who can do it straight away is not going to be that good.

@@H4rleyBoy It’s mainly the insurance company! Originally, they told me to get a tree surgeon out to make the tree safe around the garage and conservatory, so I phoned a tree surgeon, who attended quickly and removed the dangerous bits. The surveyor turned up a few weeks later, then said he could not survey the damage as the rest of the tree was in the way of the patio, so I had to get most of the tree cut up, then it took another couple of weeks for the surveyor. I must have asked 4 builders, only one of them gave me a rough cost for the price of rebuilding the garage, the others either were not interested or did not turn up. The conservatory part of the claim has been settled! Yesterday the insurance made an offer for the garage, patio area (which is smashed badly) and the railings. To replace the railings you are looking at £3500, yet the offer for the garage, patio and railings, would only just meet the lowest price of just rebuilding the garage- the only quote I could get. I have rejected the offer and asked them to send out their approved tradesmen to sort everything out 😉

@@ultimatehandyman I had similar once and the ins loss adjuster rhymed with banker, so I Googled it and looked at the reviews and the one I used tripled the other so I went with him, all sorted to my satisfaction, it did up the ins by £45, bovvered, not a jot.

No. It will react with the metal and harden into a thick gel which might seize the gears

Those saws are a piece of shite. Got one exactly the same and it ran for about 20 to 25 minutes and it stopped altogether. Nightmare getting Dewalt to fix it. Was not worth the hassle. When looking on line how to fix it i saw loads of posts of people with the same problem. Very unreliable product.

No, I just wanted to see the back of it all. All the logs have gone to the guy that is cutting up the tree (Chase Pritchard), he’s a wood carver and will be making chairs, tables and benches from it 👍 Thanks for the comment 👍

I have a log burner and wished I was near you.I have a Bosch electric chainsaw and not impressed with it at all. I’d definitely buy the DeWalt next time round.. 👌
