I brought this and it's awesome. What a gamechanger when it comes to pruning branches from small trees and bushes.

Bought one of these recently for work, really good for tree pruning from a ladder. Battery life is excellent. Non stick coating doesn't last long though, a good bit came off after the first job. Not too bad though. I am really wary about using it for situations where my other hand is free, it would take a finger without hesitation for sure. I still like to use loppers for ground level work because of this.

I can echo the other comments, after a full day of pruning live and dead Maple, 1" is the real max for single cuts, and whatever black coating they have does wear off, but I didn't see it have much impact on it. I am going to sharpen the jaws myself and see if you can maximize its cutting performance. Handy for sure, my wife used it for 3 hours and it saved her from last year when she did the same job with hand shears and had a blister at the end of the day.

So, I haven’t tested, or tried any competitor to this. But I did buy this one. It’s a great product. But use it properly. Don’t constantly hold the safety switches down or the tool will stop working for a time and you’ll have to take the battery out for a second or so. I, and others, assume it’s a safety thing, but the manual doesn’t mention it. It will cut really think branches, but may take several bites for really think wood. If you have to multi cut, try to keep the branch pressed up against the bottom jaw. It cuts better that way. For safety, I carry it but the hand guard so I don’t press the safety switch down unthinkingly, which is easy to do if you’re carrying it and not thinking about it. Otherwise, it works really well and makes work easy for my 74 year old wrist.

I personally think that pruner is safer if you keep one hand on the camera or in your pocket - I am wondering what the injury reports are going to be 1 year from now - it also needs a holster
