The Stihl is two stroke. The Stihl also needs sharpening... creating a bunch of dust instead of chips.

As soon as I said it was a 2 cycle, I immediately started to question myself. Little voice in my head said “they do make mixed gas 4 cycle small engines…Bulldog.” I really should have used a new chain also. But in my head I wasn’t trying to do a head-to-head comparison as much as a Similarities and Differences. However I think I missed clearly expressing that small point 🤔. Oh well, I’ll get better at movie making someday 🤣. Cheers from the Bulldog 🍻

any word on the long term use of the 20" bar by chance??

Thanks for asking! Yeah I have been using it for a long while now. Happy to report it is still holding up well. With the understanding it is still a “light duty” saw. But I do run a small commercial stump & forestry mulching company. It does get thrown around and put to commercial projects. Although I only lightly use it, when it does get used. She runs hard and strong. The electric torque is impressive for what it is.

Is the chain a .043 gauge? .050 gauge?

0.5 gauge 👍. It grabs well and for what it is, seems balanced.

The chainsaw comparison is inaccurate, it's like comparing a rake to a backpack blower. I agree for the average homeowner a 20 inch battery powered chainsaw is a solid solution with minimal maintenance. The top handle saw's primary function is a lightweight, compact, limbing saw in a bucket or climbing a tree, regardless of brand.

I hear what you’re saying. I used what I had to try and show similarities, and differences. The nimble top handle, is awesome for its intended purpose. But if I grabbed a big saw and tried to compare similarities. Well, I my head I really didn’t know how to help navigate such a video 🤷♂️. Not my best video, just threw it together. Cheers 🍻

No worries! Compared to the big box store's pro saw the DeWalt seems like a fantastic alternative!

If that Dewalt is the 16 saw then you're going to hurt both the motor and probably even the battery running a longer bar and chain than what it's rated for.

You think? Me and the sales person couldn’t find any issues 🤷♂️. The head unit on the 16”, 18” and 20” kit all have the same part number DCCS676. I’m not positive, but I can’t find anything different on motors or batteries between the different bar sizes. But hopefully you follow along, i plan to work this little guy fairly hard.
