Just got one and instructions on how to fit the guard are really confusing. I worked it out myself, but your video covers all the confusing bits. Glad to see how to replace the line. Thx Peter

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

I’ve done exactly the same, I bought this a few weeks ago as a bare unit as I have about 6 x 4/5ah dewalt batteries already. It’s great so far, very impressed
@mrs98486 ай бұрын
Nit really great if you need 6 battery's. I would expect a battery to last at least 30mins on full power. Less than 10mins means I wouldn't buy a battery powered strimmer. Doe what you spent on battery's and the strimmer you would of had a top of the range petrol strimmer that would last all day with a couple of pounds worth of fuel

Why the instruction book still describes the unit as arriving fully assembled and omits details of how to fit the guard is beyond me - thanks for the video!
@KarryKarryKarry7 ай бұрын
There’s a couple of pages with pictures in the start of the manual instead of putting the picture next to the relevant text like you normally would. They did however plaster warnings in between the assembly instructions to make the whole thing a bit more unorganized and confusing.

I've had mine a while now and I'm always struggling to unscrew and release more flex during use, is there something I'm not doing, it can't be this difficult?

Must admit I use mine a lot and always struggle with it. Not a brilliant design unfortunately

@@lords-electrical I’ve found it often is unwindable and the only option is to remove the cap, take the flex off the wind on again.

I brought one. I having issues with it. Just like two of the older version. The older models had burnt wiring which forced me to replace twice, then i jumped to this model. I do not know what is causing the issue with the new model.

Hi, I’ve watched your video twice but still cannot get the line on. Maybe mine is a different machine, although it looks the same. You feed the cord through the eyelets, wind it up. How do you get the cord out the eyelet?? I’m so confused. I bought this because the stink is so hard to load, and now this is no better. Please help?

I watch all of your videos, and while I do like your in-store presentations (and in-home on occasion), your recent "beyond-the-store" videos are a good compliment to your other helpful and informative material. Nice! I bought a Dewalt trimmer last fall and it is doing a great job. I like the dual-press on/off lever system for safety and I like its long reach.

All I really want to know is if it works good. And how long the battery last
@lords-electrical2 жыл бұрын
It works really well. I still use it and each battery lasts around 20 minutes. Ideally you want a couple of batteries fully charged if you are strimming a large area

Would have taken 2 minutes with a decent petrol strimmer, when you store your strimmer for the winter, make sure it is completely empty of fuel including the carburettor and you have no problem starting it for Following season
@kodzoman7 ай бұрын
i wanted to buy it before i saw this video. I agree with you. I have a low end Einhell trimmer and store it the way you say and it lasts 7 years already. Yea, it's heavy and i hate petrol but it would do this in few minutes. I regularly get 300m2 of this so this battery one would probably burn 30 batteries since he burned 2 with this

Very useful! The instructions were absolutely rubbish - and required things that were not supplied (flat bladed screwdriver) and the supplied Allen key didn't fit the guard screws.

I got one of these for our church grounds. I currently have 5 x 4amp batteries, I think I burnt out my first one in 2 days. I went through all my batteries back to back without a break and it gave up. Screw fix replaced it and now I give it 5 - 10 mins between battery swaps and haven't had a problem since (been using it for over 12 months now)

You don't seem to have used this product much if you were struggling with the guard, perhaps use a little before jumping to a review.
@regregan57553 жыл бұрын
Are you saying strimmer?? You don't even need a screw driver to put the guard on, just hold the silver part and turn. Only needs to be hand tight as it turns against the thread so will not come off.

very hard to fit the guard. you need large hands and some strength. they obviously pack these units unassembled to save money on shipping, but I'd rather pay an extra tenner and not have the struggle. Its bordering on dangerous as people who cant fit the guard, and there will be a few, will use it without the guard. no instructions either.

I hear DeWalt replaces them their trimmers readily when they fail - but not mine, 14 months old. OH NO. In a period of LaNina and we're getting 1 to 2 inches a DAY - one night we got 6 inches of rain, and my trimmer motor died. MUST BE BECAUSE I'M A WOMAN. Because they want to replace the motor, but haven't sent the motor. SO I think it might be a month or two before I get it back. Grass is growing 5 inches to hip height (I'm short) every week. I should have bought a cheap Chinese model - I could have replaced it for less than the DeWalt. On top of that, I bought the battery operated calking gun - and it keeps exploding the cannisters. (3 so far, unless I cut half an inch off the tip - then it works, but not what I need it for). And it's been a week since I asked for specs and they don't respond to women. IF YOU'RE A WOMAN, DON'T BUY DEWALT - sexist company.

DeWalt offer a 3 year warranty on all their products, register it on their website and provide a proof of purchase and they will replace it I'm sure
@brendamatthews44352 жыл бұрын
@@w00x360 No. They refused to replace it. I had to wait almost 4 months - our entire summer - for a new motor. The motor was eventually fixed. It needed more parts than just the motor so that was another couple of weeks. I appreciate that DeWalt couldn't get the parts to Australia, then Melbourne (where they consolidated their services shortly before COVID) was shut down due to COVID. But 4 months is unacceptable. During a la nina summer.
