Dewalt DW321 saw repair

The saw would not actually cut anything. The fix turned out to be quite easy. I made this video just in case it helps someone else in the future.

Bought the same saw years ago when I was trimming. Would never cut straight working on cabinets. I'll be tearing mine down after seeing this. Mine won't hold the blade anymore either. Nice vid! Was about to buy a Bosch.

Helped me! I had gotten to the point of working the gear cover loose, and it was hanging on something.

Mine was just a little loose, so that I was slaloming across the work piece, just to try to cut a straight line!

@@DavinDesborough On my saw, the motor leads are connected with long spade terminals, so I pulled them out and put the handles and cord off to the side.

Anyone have issues with the Chuck jaws not opening fully? I’ve got it fully unlocked and can’t put a blade in. Tried separating the jaws with a flat head screwdriver, they won’t budge. Thinking I’ll try removing the shaft and seeing where that takes me next, but suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

@@DavinDesborough Follow up: I thought the two tabs on the blade were supposed to go up inside the chuck as well. They do not. All is well. Thank you for the prompt response!

Hmm... If you pull the top of the blade lock mechanism out like I do at 7:56, perhaps you could push the broken bit out with something long and thin? I didn't look down through the shaft to see if it was open all the way though, so I am not sure if that will work or not. Good luck!
