Simple fix for keeping water on the lid from running in to the box is to tip the box back and let the water run off before opening it. Worked for years with tools in tool boxes in the back of an open truck and learned that pretty fast.
@MongoHunts3 жыл бұрын
As far as the lid "popping", yours is the second review I've watched, and the other reviewer stated the same exact same thing. I believe that's DeWalts answer to the lid staying open.

They have the half size boxes at Home Depot for 20 a piece right now. They work really well and have 6 bins in them. Great for job specific parts bins. The were a little stiff to latch at first but after a few uses they are fine. Also just like Cesar stated the lids pop like that to keep them falling while digging for tools.

welcome to youtube! milwaukee packout sure is pricey, and it's all plastic just the same. they especially need to upgrade their new dolly to maybe a "Fuel" metal version. But the back of their dolly is great for fishing rod, pipes & benders!

Bro the lid is supposed to pop like that. It’s a feature they integrated to allow the lid to lock open so it doesn’t fall while you’re searching for your tools inside.

When you watch the online DeWalt reviews on these boxes. The big box on the bottom does not make the noise, but all the rest of them do. That’s just the way that they hold open. It’s made into the hinges. They even talk about it on the DEWALT page when they launched the product.

A Milwaukee box will dump water into the box too. Just turn them over if it has rain on them. As far as the click on the DeWalt just put a dab of silicone grease on the 4 tabs, smooth as silk.

I was surprised to learn that the Dewalt 2.0 is able to support more weight than the Packout system, quite a bit more. The wheels are said to be much more quite as well. I just ordered mine about an hour ago, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. My main gripe will be that problem with the water collecting in the back. That was ridiculous and Dewalt should have caught that.
@LastKobold3 жыл бұрын
For what its worth the packout will do the same thing if you dont get the water off before you open it. If you have a smaller box on top jist flip it over and then open it.

The 1.0 handle is removable to all you have to do is take out the locking blocks in the bottom of the vertical rectangle metal tubes.
@ryansutton43793 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing, they advertised the 2.0 as if it was a new feature
@atrainace1143 жыл бұрын
@@ryansutton4379 no problem. I cant believe no one has done a vid on it. I couldn't find any info on the fact that you can do this anywhere. I think just because it's easier to do with 2.0 because it's just little levers or whatever you manipulate to get the handle out. Once I took the blocks out of the 1.0. I just set them to the side it doesnt hurt the tubes structurally. You just have to be aware where the notches are so you dont pull out the handle everytime when raising it. I have been hauling it around like that for about a year with no problems. The rolling box fits in the bed of my truck with a cover no problems.
