At 18:45 I had the same idea years ago, not for a sander but just tools in general. It’s just so practical in certain situations. Another practical application for it, is with like a 15 foot cord so you can hang a light on the ceiling and change the battery from the wall. It’s a safety thing, you don’t have to climb up on the ladder continuously to change the battery from a work light. They can even sell it as an adapter, to work with your existing lights .

I love the new sanders, but I really need Makita to make a tiny sander for small space detail work. The Bluetooth connection on the router is nice, but I did notice that the time it takes the vacuum to stop after you shut down the tool is a bit long in comparison to others. The storage containers do need a drawer box choice and it needs a bracket or slim box to store the tracks for a track saw.

As nifty as that XTG Programming Module seems to be, if someone absconds with a tool or battery, and it is PIN-locked and non-functional for them, they’re not going to return the pilfered item; instead, they’ll just discard or trash it. Either way, you’re out the tool or battery. What would be far more purposeful would be to infuse a technology compatible with or similar to AirTag or Tile, so you can track the item down, and hopefully demonstrate to the thief what that grinder he stole can do.

Makita needs to create more XGT tools for construction. Like why do we have a million grinders but we still don't have a compact 40v Bandsaw? Or a 40v drywall cutter? Or a small 300w or 600w inverter? They keep making circular saws but there's tools that don't even have one version out.

16:04 The Makita's base is NOT well designed on WEIGHT LIFTING...Meaning you have to pick a full toolbox from the FLOOR up to your WAISTE to push toolbox... If any one has any type of back issues they in trouble... lifting that weight from the floor.... Other than that, the took box are well designed.. the way they connect and double hinge... Tell them to come up with a standard base...No need to invent something that's worked for years...PULL DOLLY BASED ESIGN. Great work guys presenting all the tools!!! Keep up the great work!!!
@KahluaBombАй бұрын
Plus you have to bend down to grab the handle all the way at the ground, which, doing over and over and over, is really gonna mess people up. The boxes seem really cool, but going for a flat box was a bad call. To keep them in the truck all the time maybe, but to actually take your tools to the job site, terrible design. Plus, if you want to stop, say on the elevator, you're going to keep it in the upright position, which means all of your tools in the boxes are now 90 degrees and are gonna fall all over the place in the boxes. Really weird call on the design for actually using them outside of the truck/van.

I think the Maktrak is an interesting system. I don't think it's a Packout killer, plus the Packout system offers the large base if you want to go horizontal. But anyways, the problems are always going to be the same, organisation and weight. There is no need to make absurdly large boxes if you can't organise them... I think where Makita missed the point, is lacking the compatibility with the Makpak system, which would make Maktrak compatible with all systainers, something Packout lacks, and it would have set Maktrak appart from the others, but they haven't. Oh well... I do also think that at some point, you will not be able to load your tool carrier by yourself, it gets way too heavy very quickly.
