I think there should be an item that lets you convert your overflow damage into an explosion

This does work well with the weapon you unlock for killing lots in a single swing. It scales with negative attack speed and does huge damage for swinging so slowly.

The spiked club needs such a buff. It’s possibly the worst weapon in the game and by a wide margin. 80% scaling on melee with the attack speed it has is insane.

I wonder if getting a cursed anchor with super low attack speed would be good? Attacking once every 5 seconds or so but wiping the entire screen with a giant chain reaction with every hit? Also, I think taking different weapons with different attack speeds would be best, because it would cause your attacks to be more staggered.

Problem you might run into is when enemies spawn in between attacks. Definitely need something to keep from getting swarmed in between the long cooldown of anchor.

I think dex should really consider picking up bricks in the early roll downs sure it's annoying that they break but when they do you get so good value out of them and you really don't need 6 weapons in the first 4 stages to survive either

Sigh ... It was good until minute 9 ... from then I've had 4 ad blocks at minute 9, 10 12 and 13... each one a single ad. Why it was going so good.

I got my plank run to wave 42 or so, the passive explosion fell off around that time and I wasn’t able to keep up anymore

Hi Dex, in case you don't know, flashing lights can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. So if you could reduce the explosions light in your future videos it would be very helpful.❤

Man I tried this guy and I didn't like him. He is only good if you are already one shotting everything so I just don't see it... like, if he started with an item that did more damage to full HP enemies maybe that would help. I so want to try a run with him that is all tridents though, since they do a lot of damage to full HP enemies.

I think the way you want to play him is having a weapon that is very strong. I first had the same mindset you have of "Why would I care about the boom if I kill anything either way", but take something like the Rock for example. Very high damage but super slow attack, so with a hit you kill anything that gets hit, but the problem is you don't attack fast enough to kill the rest. So I viewed it more like having an explosion attached to my weapon and that kinda helped me

@@DexTag Yeah that makes sense! I think what happened is that i had bad luck and the enemy HP kept outscaling my damage output so by like wave 15 I felt like I was just a below average melee with low attack speed lol.
