Oh my god that is cruel and unusual punishment from the game. Dangling your weapon in front of your face for so long, finally revealing it to you, only to kill you before you can buy it. DPS=Atk spd x (%dmg + _f_ ), where _f_ = ((melee dmg x wpn scaling) + wpn dmg). Basically, your DPS is the area of a rectangle and the side lengths are attack speed and damage per hit. To maximize the area, you want a square; focusing on just attack speed or just %dmg means you've just got either a really long or really tall rectangle, which has a really small area compared to its perimeter. So to maximize your DPS, you need to have approximately equal investments in damage and attack speed.

range is so slept on as a stat for these ethereal/thiefdagger type builds if you took the early +60 range levelup it would have been so easy to approach the crowds and then breeze through them dodge cap + range + consumable heal is the way to do it let's say 50 range over base makes you attack like 10% slower from the drawback time on the weapon, but instead of chipping away at 1-2 outer enemies on the blob you hit for 4 or 5.. now you can find a safe path in faster or clear spellcasters once you're in the blob, you chew through more of it with each attack (again you hit like 10+ instead of 3-5 at a time), so the blob dies fast enough for you to be safe. less chance to be hit as you pass through, because you're able to clear "enough" ahead of you. same idea as javelin/spear etc you make way more money when you can kill the whole blob and not die, instead of attacking faster with short range and only chipping away at the edges of the blob (which is risky and you're more likely to die trying to dodge all the spells/big chargers that get built up) the crazy character is meant to show what a difference this makes! people are too wrapped up in wanting minimum range to speed up attacks. wait until you find a hoodie instead.

You should check out Druid again now that you've unlocked Pearl. Druid in Endless with cursed Improved Tools and cursed Retromation Hoodie means you start getting thousands of damage % per wave even with no pruners, just Gardens and Flutes to clear. (pruner start is still best, transition lategame)

Its not really a good thing since you need to hit milestones for the +1% Atk Speed, e.g. the red one needs 12. Meaning the more weapons you have, the more will have leftover kills at the end of the wave, which resets on the next wave

I got my loud run to wave 58, thief dagger build, swapped to 5 drills towards the end. I got the stone skin cursed for 2 hp per armor and the anvil to 5 armor a round. Also padding cursed dunno what the scaling was but I had like 40k material before my game lagged to oblivion and I died out of nowhere lol

If dex didn't buy the shackles there was a good chance he could've survived, though I'm not sure about the enemy damage at the end but it looked like roughly 1300, with hp uncapped dex would've survived.
