He talks a lot about regretting never having a family, his mid-life crisis, and also that you're enough for him, but he wouldn't stop you from having others. It is wood elves culture to be in poly relationship, it doesn't meant they don't love and just sleep around. If you stay with him, he says in the epilogue he is content and found a home and doesn't feel the need to 'roam freely' anymore.

i wish they'd flesh it out a bit better, but it's better than nothing! in my first playthrough i romanced both of them and only got the astarion ending and saw halsin next at the party months later

So the game thinks you have duplicated and gone both with Astarion AND Halsin. I just finished my game with exclusive Halsin and got a broken ending with no waking up scene and game saying I went with Halsin, but Halsin saying he hasnt seen me for 6 months

When I did that playthrough, my ending was with Astarion and no comments whatsoever from Halsin... sad but maybe it's cuz I had a dark Astarion - the AA

I don't know, I did a play in which I ascended Astarion and I still had that same epilogue, the scene with Halsin and then the one with Astarion.

Play romanced ascended a starion and Halsin. There was a choice to live with both of them I declined Astarion, Accepted Halson and the kids.... Larion made me fucking walk in with Astarion!!

I had this bug too. In my case I said I would live with Astarion and said to Halsin that I would like to see that, but didn't go with him, but them I walked to the party with him instead of Astarion, them I reloaded it and had this epilogue of the video.
