Well done Freya! When I first started learning at 17 I was not ready and found it terrifying, so I gave up. At 29 and after having my son, I wanted to learn to drive so that I could take him to different places and pick him up when needed (especially when he got older). That was my motivation. When I passed at 30 years old, you'd better believe I cried. One of the greatest achievements of my life. Driving is not easy; it's a skill we take for granted. Congratulations to anyone reading this who has passed. And those who are trying and maybe struggling with anxiety - keep going. You can do this!

I was 30 too. That was 10 years ago now. When I started learning in my early 20’s I was far too nervous, so decided to try automatic, I passed that first then passed my manual a couple of years later.

Well Done Freya! This just shows you need to find a good instructor who can teach you a lot in a short amount of time rather than a bad instructor who takes 40+ hours

there's no way you blame the instructor if a student has taken 40+ hours. That's in line with what the DVSA recommend. I've had students pass with 20-30 hours and some who are close to 100 hours and haven't manage to pass yet. This is part of the reason why the pass rate is so low in this country, and why the backlog is as bad as it is. Learners have friends or family who passed in X amount of hours so they think they should do the same. Everyone is different, take it at your pace. Trust your instructor, they're the trained professional, they'll let you know when you're ready for the test. Whether that takes 30 hours or 80 hours, everyone is different. As a disclaimer, of course there will be instructors who take the piss, as there are in every job, but taking 40+ hours does not mean your instructor is bad.

How you fail a driving course and blame it on the instructor unless the instructor purposely failed her which is not the case the world doesn’t revolve around her and that's her fault for failing maybe next time she should come more prepared

My pregnancy was my motivation as I knew I needed that licence to be able to drive my baby wherever he wanted or needed to go! Luckily I passed in February and yea it’s deffo a great achievement ☺️🙌🏽.

Congrats Freya. I failed twice and passed on my third test. If you fail the first time, take in the feedback and work on it for next time. Remember, once you pass the test, you don’t have to do it ever again, NEVER GIVE UP! : )

Well done Freya, I'd be the same. I've had a nightmare learning journey I'm guessing similar to this lady, I'm on my 4th instructor now, 4 grand out of pocket because of a nightmare experience with a driving course company. I'm still just now starting to wonder if my current instructor is taking me for a ride too. My test is 5 weeks away now and my instructor keeps letting me down and rearranging lessons. I haven't had a lesson for 2 weeks and during my last lesson my instructor said my next 2-3 weeks of lessons will be the decider as to whether I should move my test or not. I'm so scared he's going to tell me to change it when I see him next. But at the rate I've been having lessons I'm going to fail and my theory runs out in November too, it's a nightmare. So happy this girl passed after her rubbish experiences. I'm hoping for a happy ending like hers 😅😂

One thing I don't understand was you get taught not to mount a curb when parking left or right next to a pavement, but you see everyone else doing it, and once that learner has passed they too will do it in the future. so isn't it better to allow curb mount parking and teach learners how to at least do it correctly cuss it's inevitable, and sure it's illegal but no one enforces that driving law anyways, especially in a country with tight roads and households with 2+ cars most drive ways only fit 1 at most 2

I’m 16, from Australia, just started driving (we can start at 16 by law). Also by law, I have to record 100 hours in my digital logbook, have my L’s for at least 12 months and be at least 17 years old before I can take my P1 test. I might be wrong here, but I have the feeling 100 hours is a long time compared to the UK.

The parallel park is so easy when you have at least 1.5 car lengths of space. In reality you don’t need to get in the perfect position in one maneuver as usually doing many corrections is possible.

Passed today, used ur driving course and it helped me pass with only 15 hours experience. You literally made it so I needed far less time with my instructor as I used the lessons to practise what u learnt from the course. 100% reccomend you literally saved me so much money thank you so much!! Only two minors two!!
