Such a great song. Like you said, it's almost an anthem, or a battle song. This song always feels to me Lord of the Rings inspired: RM: "A day may come when we lose But it is not today Today we fight!" Aragorn: "A day may come when the courage of men falls. But it is not this day. This day we fight!" Also when J-Hope says "what say you?" sounds very much like the famous line from Aragorn "what say you?". Even the "But still part of this world" reminds me of Merry saying "But you’re a part of this world! Aren’t you?" or Tauriel "Are we not part of this world?".

Don't know if you noticed how cold it was in the garage, in the third version, you could see the icy breaths coming out of Jungkook (21:21). Besides being their opening number for their Wings tour (Not Today), I remember this fit [from the MV] on SUGA being iconic and one of his most memorable. I mean, BTS have had a LOT of costumes and clothes for so much content, but this styling on SUGA is one of his best.

Honestly, "Not Today" is the only BTS song that I like. It goes hard, and I'm here for it! I feel that Ateez is constantly trying to embody the energy and aggressiveness of "Not Today" in their songs. Thanks for your reaction.

One of my favourite BTS song and MV(s) and choreo (even if RM has purple hair, I can handle it, yes I can xD joking of course I couldn't care less about their hair color), glad you reacted to it and analyzed it ! As I Often say, I'm sensitive to this kind of topic even tho they actually talk about themselves, it still the "being together and get through what's trying to block us" ... it makes me cry sometimes xD .... Witch is ironic 'cause I'm quite a loner .___. They all slap on this track but RM and Suga especially catch my ear.

Thank you 🙏 19:54 I think it's more like bts are fighting bare hands against the tank (dancers moving their hands like a tank tracks) it might be a metaphor for higher-ups in the music industry. They're still underdogs back then in 2017 so this song is so impactful to me.
