Great video, Darnell. I have an iGrill 3 that I need to install/set up on my Weber Genesis II grill. Your videos will come in handy! 👍🏾

darnell silly question where did u store the probes when not in use - do the attach to the igrill box somehow?
@DGrill4 жыл бұрын
I wrap them around each of their storage holders and put them in a drawer. I hope you didn't throw away those black plastic things each one was wrapped around when you unboxed them.

Hi D Grill, do you think the IGrill 3 is a useful tool to perfect the cooking of large cuts or a typical push in thermometer is suitable? gust asking as i am unsure of the advantage other than live temp screening, Many thanks.

I think only you can decide what works for you 🙂 I have lots of cooks here on the Weber using it and you can decide for yourself.

After installing, the device beeped and blinked a couple times, and now it won't turn on. Do you just press the button to pair?

Figured it out, wasn't getting power defective battery pack connector. Drilled into the holder under the cover, and pushed the terminal all the way into the connector, now it gets voltage.

Any connectivity issues with the Bluetooth when moving away from the grill?

+Drew Dukes Please see this review of a later version for other details including testing for that. The current version is functionally the same as the one in this other review kzbin.info/www/bejne/npK8ZoaVaa91mqs

Does the iGrill 3 connect to the propane tank to alert you it’s low?

Yes

Nice video. Thanks. If my phone screen is off, will the app still give me an audible alarm when the food is ready?
@DGrill6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will still give you alarms. But be sure to check out a review of a more current version of the software. This video is from an old version that is not what you get today. See this video I did just a couple months ago, although it's an iGrill 2 review, it's a much more current version of the exact same App used with iGrill 3. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZyQc3WkZcd2mck

Nice Bridge (Erasmus Bridge, Rotterdam in the Netherlands) have you been there? I'm from the Netherlands and i like your videos keep up the good work!! I just bought the Genesis 2 e-310 gbs model (today). And i have not decided yet if I go for the IGrill 2 or 3. They told me in the store that de IGrill 2 is easier to use on other bbq's (because it is not mounted on the bbq) and the function are the same. What do you recommend?
@DGrill7 жыл бұрын
+Martijn van der Bent I have never been there, but it's a sweet looking bridge. Regarding iGrill 2 vs 3. The iGrill 3 has a few things the iGrill 2 does not have: 1) Propane tank level gauge. 2) 50 more hours of battery cooking time. 3) Knob light control for LX models. Really only the first 2 of those apply for you. The iGrill 2 does work with any grill. So of you're using more than this Genesis 2 over the next 3 - 5 years, get iGrill 2. But I am only using the Genesis II for my next few years. So no need for an iGrill 2 for me. And I have come to like the tank gauge and it's alerts for low propane. I would hope, that in a few years, they make a WiFi enabled iGrill. So Bluetooth is no longer a concern. I just hope it has good security from hacking.

I just got the normal version not the LX. I was looking for the Propane tank level gauge, I even called Weber, they told me there not for the European market. So the only difference for me is the extra battery-life. I think I will go for the iGrill 2 just because it's easier to take with me or for using on other grills. i'm with you for the wifi-version. Thanks for the info! Tomorrow i will try out my Genesis 2 (if they deliver on time). I Enjoyed your videos keep up the good work!

+Martijn van der Bent iGrill 3 has its own tank level gauge. I have shown it in my videos. The only thing you won't have from iGrill 3 if you get iGrill 3 is the knob lights. iGrill 2 has no tank level gauge.

Hey D, thanks for the videos. My question is that the grill2 has a display on the unit itself, would that not be a plus in case the bluetooth went down?

Hi Darnell! I've enjoyed watching your videos. I'm thinking about getting one of those grills and had a question about the iGrill. Do you recommend the iGrill for Android users? Seems like all the reviews in the play store are saying it has a lot of issues. Main issue people report is disconnecting from phone a lot and the notification bar still seeming like it's connected (showing temperature). Interested to know your thoughts. Thanks!
@DGrill7 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Collings See the video I posted yesterday, smoking a whole chicken. It discounted on me and it common, When You Get Out Of Range. When you leave Bluetooth range for a moment, it will disconnect and continue showing an old temp. So as I recommend in the whole chicken smoke video. When you want to know the temp, just be sure to open the iGrill app fully. I totally recommend iGrill. It makes cooking so much easier. No more running in and out the house, just to check temps. And I have an ambient sensor now too. So I don't have to run out to see the temp on the dial outside the grill. I get it all on my phone. The disconnects are just a BT range issue. It would help, if the app gave notification when it loses BT signal. But it's common for BT to drop connection with anything at a certain distance, especially between walls. iGrill would need to be able to use WiFi, to better maintain connection. Maybe that will be in iGrill 4. But putting iGrill into the "Internet of Things/IOT", also presents security risks.

D Grill Thanks! I was wondering: does the widget also "space out" like the notification bar about disconnection?
@DGrill7 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Collings No idea regarding the widget. If I am going to unlock the screen, I may as well open the full app. Just pulling down on the lock screen notification and clicking on it will open the full app. The most assured way to go.
