Wow, really well made Gabriel. Loved that, nice music mixes were good as well, Both dharamkot & Bhagsu look unrecognisable, but Dharamkot looks like the better place to stay now. Dharamkot still looks fairly pedestianised whereas Bhagsu looks noisier and busier nowadays. It was a great scene up there in the 90's. It looks like it still is pretty cool. I used to walk to Dharamkot every morning to do Yoga there. Last time I was there Tony Blair had just been elected.

That spot up the top of the ridge where you got dropped off. Well I remember there was a party up there one night, and everyone in the area was told about it, and they asked if everyone could bring guitars, instruments etc. Well I was still really just learning guitar at the time, and carried my guitar up there thinking i was going to be strumming in the background of 5 or 6 other guitarists only to find I was the only one that had brought any instrument and had to sing and play in front of 60+ people. I've had more relaxed evenings than that. Lovely seeing all that again, thanks.

It doesn't look so quaint up in the villages anymore!! Growth is very expected in such an amazing area so no surprises in that regard. I really enjoyed the mix of cultures. There are so many classes to take as a traveller. You are right say that it is a great place to spend some time. Been three times and stayed for at least 3 weeks every time!! Best pizza in India was in between those two villages! Happy Travels

Hi Gabriel, oh yes, the two towns are more inviting for Westerners Dharamkot and Bhagsu have more of a relaxed feel and great retreats for Yoga and camaraderie with other travelers. I see you mentioned some great trips and I'm guessing you're going to visit some new areas that you have in mind. Pleasant walking around these two towns with plenty of places to eat and cafes to enjoy live music. You should have kept a warm hat. You'll need it soon it's going to get cold in November and especially if you move further North.

Most of the foreign tourists who go there to that place are Israelis and since early October many have gone back to Israel 🇮🇱 as army reservists. Basically when you complete compulsory military service in Israel, you still remain as part of army reservists in case they get called up during wars, which Israel 🇮🇱 is now facing. Hence why there maybe not many foreign tourists (I.e. Israelis) you see, as many of them have gone back to join the army reserves.

Hinduism and Buddhism are brothers from the same mother. Both are non religions, have common origins in the culture of Ancient India. Buddhism arose in the eastern Ganges culture of northern India during the "second urbanisation" around 500 BCE. Hinduism is basically the yogic culture. Both have many shared practices, but also pronounced differences that have led to much debate. in both people wear Saffron clothes, say namaste, Chant OM(AUM). buddhist and hindu monks used to live in india and share same common language - sanskrit and both go hand in hand with each other and they do samadhi which buddhist too do. hindu and buddhist monk used to sit and learn together in one of world’s oldest and then largest university nalanda university. gautama buddha is considered as 9th avatar or reincarnation of lord vishnu in Hinduism.

Sounds like a crazy journey. I think it's all paved now. Not as much of an adventure. But you don't have to go far to find other roads that are more exciting, such as the one to the Spiti valley. I was planning to go there but decided against it due to reports of the road conditions combined with the possibility of winter weather. Hopefully I'll get the chance to give it a try another time during summer.

Many people in cities, my question is whether sewage treatment in these Indian cities is effective? A lot of people bathing in rivers, I worry about whether the water is clean. But one thing is interesting at least. A lot of people but everyone works, very different from LA or San Francisco or Portland and other cities in the USA, and this crazy world with a lot of homelessness and a lot of problems.

I went from Leh to Manali in July 2003, I went to Amarnath in June 2001, I thought the Manali Leh , although less so, was as spectacular as Amarnath, someone informed me that now, October 2023 thst route is only open for the local residents, hope you can make it any way somehow

Always enjoy your videos. Best travel Vlogger out there! You motivated me to trek in Nepal and now I want to see India. Do you think August would be horrible to visit India w the rains? Have you ever traveled in India during August? Thank you.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the vids. I've never traveled India in August but I think it would be pretty rough since it's right in the middle of the monsoon. Lots of rain and potential flooding throughout much of the country. I'd say better to wait until October. But who knows, maybe it would be an amazing experience anyway. Perhaps there are certain places you could go where it wouldn't be as rainy, though if it wasn't raining then it might be crazy hot.
