Dharavi Slum Mumbai India Skin Fade Barber Experience

The first of a small series of videos we filmed in Mumbai, India in 2017! Filmed at a barber shop near the Dharavi Slum of the "SlumDog Millionaire" fame!
We filmed at three locations while in Mumbai, India. We were excited to film the emerging young generation of barbers who truly enjoyed what they are doing and eager to share their skills. The skin fade haircut, we were told, is very popular in India now!

I thought the same thing, then I met someone from up North that actually changed my opinion on it. When we hung out he'd smile and be open, but in public he was akwardly almost statuesque. One day I asked him why he was like that, and he said it's because I only like to show real emotions and I don't trust people who don't. Kept that advice with me and I've understood it ever since.

Quite the opposite, as good as he is, Indian culture, at least from the videos and all, seems to be quite into barbers and looks. So many of the street barbers have amazing skills beacuse they have to rely just on scissors, they master blending and fading too. Its amazing.

I don't know what is about Indian barbers, but they are outstanding. There aren't that many classical men's barbershops left in the US. Indian shops come in at an extremely close second. And the head massage many offer is always amazing.

The Barber was definitely confident. Started with a horseshoe and clipper over comb attacking the bulk on the sides. Could have used some foils to give the cut a bit more demension. A little rough on you Harry nudging your head around a bit. I got a bit of a kick out of it though...lol. Solid scissor work. A little bit longer in the back for my taste. I was waiting for the trade mark Vanilla Ice Cat Scratches on the eyebrow....but I wouldn't mess with the Zohan!! Overall a good cut. Finally I did like that he took charge and committed to the cut he wanted for you. Great work! Looked like fun. Keep it up Harry!!!
