I knew someone at my old school who was selectively mute and he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. When I was sad he would try and cheer me up even if he didn't talk, he would play games and so on. But he didn't get the support that was needed, and moved schools. I miss him so much.

Selective mutism is something that is not often looked at. I am autistic with selective mutism and I also have an extremely high pitch voice. I've had so many people get annoyed at my voice, even my own family. I rarely speak, especially in public. I get panic attacks when I do speak. My only support I have is some online friends.
@Truepurple7 Жыл бұрын
Well, girls have really high pitched voices especially when they are young. It will get deeper overtime if it hasn't already. Also, if you are being bullied because of that, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself or tell someone you trust.

For someone who is an introvert and a quiet / socially anxious. At times it can mostly be hard for me to trust people because on the outside when they are talking to someone they seem nice, but I feel unsure if I approach them they might come off as rude. But I'm trying to get myself to learn to have trust in people, though I usually prefer people to come talk to me but at the same time I don't get why bullies always target kids like that and it's messed up. for people who in this video that are mute that lack self confidence, I want you to know that you are mighty and strong.

I know exactly how it felt to have selective mutism. My voice was high pitched until I turned 14. Up until after I turned 21 in March, I was way too shy to meet new people, especially girls, so I would always go into self isolation. But now I talk a little bit more because of the spring break to DC. That really brought me out of my comfort zone.

I also know how it feels to have selective mute. I was traumatized by a girl in 5th grade making fun of me for multiple reasons and that caused me to completely froze up on people. I also have a high pitched voice and I still do but it got slightly deeper during puberty. I still prefer to have a high pitch voice than a deep voice because people could barely hear you and you probably need to repeat yourself.

i have selective mutism and I've been suffering for it for years since elementary, middle school, and for my whole life I've been bullied for not talking to my classmates, my teachers would also force me to talk and call me out all the time. it gotten so bad that my parents started yelling at me and my grades would drop. I cried if I had present in front of everyone, 7th grade was my lowest time, my mom was so abusive to me and my dad wouldn't do nothing, because that's how they "cared" for us. I wouldn't even talk to no one in school either, I would cry and stay in the school bathrooms because I had no friends, then the next year of 8th grade things started to get better at school but worse at home, I stopped talking to my mom, I made a friend in school for the first time I was so happy, I talked to her all the time, and she made me feel like it's okay to talk to people. and we been friends ever since 8th grade, 9th high school but it was junior high for where I live, it was okay I was still friends with that one girl, I would talk to her, and there was a teacher who I would talk to, everything was okay, 10th grade I'm getting better I'm so glad I got better, I'm getting better by talking to people, I'm not as nervous I would be talking to people, I feel more comfortable talking to my classmates,, little by little I'm getting better, I made 2 friends in my new high school, my friends helped me by getting better but they don't know it, I'm so glad I met them, selective mutism is not easy to control, I would always get suicidal thoughts by the age 8. but now I'm okay I guess, I'm 15 turning 16 in Jan. thank you for reading this, good luck to those who suffer from selective mutism. trust me it gets better by its a long progress. talking to a friend does help

I have history of childhood selective mutism as well I didn’t know I had it until my psychiatrist helped to confirm it back in 2019. I can relate to Marcus because I feel more comfortable talking online and also more in details online than in person depending on situations, and what kind of social environment I am in. If I am at a church community I at times share things in details in person in Bible group settings. Even though this is a show I believe the therapist did a great job of helping to diagnose Marcus of selective mutism it help his mom and Marcus have better understanding, communication and relationship with one another and also with his friends at school.

I used to have selective mutism when I was a kid, man it was awful. Not being able to speak is just what people notice, there's other symptoms like memory loss, mood swings, anxiety obviously lol. Then there's the social problems like not being able to really get close to anyone. Though it never really went away for me exactly, thankfully you can work round it and adapt as you get older. Still kinda hard for me to make conversation in certain situations to this day though lol.

I had it also but most people didn’t know what it was back then. I wonder if more kids are developing this now because they’re accustomed to socializing on-line rather than in person? As a person who has selective mutism and feels insecure about my voice this encourages me so much. I speak at home and only bit with close friends and when I'm school ill only to during really crucial moments but i mostly use body language. I want to become a streamer too but I'm too embarrassed to tell my mom. She says i need to focus on studying (which i love to do) but i think i can balance both. (I'm not making this up the video was on point) Ironically i love voice acting too. Hope everyone has a great day i just wanted to share this. God bless ❤

When I first went to school at the age of three, I refused to speak. I got a diagnosis of pure selective mutism. I didn’t say a single word for almost two years at that school until I gradually started talking more. Considering how young I was, my speech therapist said unless this was caused my a traumatic event, I won’t remember why I did what I did, and she was right. I have no idea why I refused to speak, I’m just glad no one shamed me for it. Watching this made me want to cry and at some points I did. Keep up the amazing and inspiring content!

People who have a high pitch voice stop listening to people who hurt your feelings and focus on the real things that you want to do because that’s what matters the most nothing else should matter if someone bullies you or copies you because they think you’re stupid then don’t listen to them and focus on your future😊 5:08

As someone who's a selective mute, this actually describes how life is for me, (I'm also a genshin player, funny enough). I'm always quiet and refuse to speak in person but I'm basically a whole other person online, constantly talking. Seeing this actually made me happy, not a lot of people actually realize how hard someones life is when they have selective mutism, it gets difficult and I've even been made fun of for it. Thank you for making this

a lot of people dont know what selective mutism is and i have it and it can be really hard for someone to talk in public (especially at school) like for example if you were about to be sick at school you feel like you cant do anything or if someone tries talking to you your throat feels like its being tightened up. i have started a yt channel and it has really helped and i am able to talk normally in public like in a restraunt
