Dharma doesn't translate to religion. Religion is a political ideology to which santana dharma is an antithesis of. You can be a follower of christ under the tenants of santana dharma and co-exist without needing the sham of "secularism". To be truly Dharmic one has to descard the fundamentals of the construct of religion. Santana Dharma is the source of the concept which has been hijacked and corrupted in the west as "spirituality" due to the limitation of language and worldview. Instead of finding "equivalent" words in English with completely different fundamentals one must use the original term and define it's meaning in higher/proper philosophies. And completely dissassociate it with the term/fundamentals of "religion" infact it can be described as antithesis of religion and a higher version of "secular thought"

Fantastic video explaining Hinduism vs the Abrahamic religions. As an Ex-Christian, I must say that the description of Christianity as a belief is spot on. I LOVE the Dharmic religions - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. ALL are native and emerged from to the very spiritual land of India. Compared to the violent Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) which were created in the perpetually troubled Middle-Eastern desert region.

gulag I didn’t say ‘Arabic’, I said ‘Middle Eastern’ and ‘Abrahamic’. All 3 religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) are Abrahamic ( NOT Arabic). All are from the Middle Eastern region. Language wise Judaism has Hebrew roots, Christianity has Hebrew, Aramaic roots. While Islam has Arabic roots.

Dharma Speaks You say that Hinduism accept many paths to the truth and you sight a part of the Rig Veda support this however if you read the entire verse you'll see that it is referring calling the same thing by different names and has nothing to do with other religions here is the first what you did not tell where we can find it (Rig Veda 1.164.46) "They call him Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Agni, and he is heavenly nobly-winged Garutmān. To what is One, sages give many a title they call it Agni, Yama, Mātariśvan." the same concept is considered by Islam and Christianity (as both Christians and Muslims have different names for God) and it's interesting that you talk about Krishna because he said that everyone is following him but some people do it in the wrong way (Bhagavad Gita chapter 9) "Even those devotees who, endued with faith worship other godheads even they, O son of Kunti, worship me alone, (though) irregularly." In fact the reason why Hinduism does not preach to other religions it's not out of respect in fact it's because they believe that their priests are the only ones who can understand truth (Mahabharata 12.188) "They amongst them are not Brahmanas that are incapable of understanding that every created thing is Supreme Brahma. These, falling away, became members of diverse (inferior) orders. Losing the light of knowledge, and betaking themselves to an unrestrained course of conduct, they take birth as Pisachas and Rakshasas and Pretas and as individuals of diverse Mlecchaspecies." Also you say that religions that promote violence are not True Religions I guess this would mean that Hinduism is not a true religion considering that Krishna said fighting (at least for the warrior cast) is a duty and to not fight incurres sin (Bhagavadgîtâ chapter 2) "But if you will not fight this righteous battle, then you will have abandoned your own duty and your fame, and you will incur sin." Krishna is also described as a very violent man (Mahabharata book 7 section 11) "Krishna, consumed in battle, with all his troops … Krishna, vanquishing all the kings at a self-choice, bore away the daughter of the king of the Gandharas … the lord of a full Akshauhini of troops, to be slain through the instrumentality of another. The mighty Krishna also slew the valiant king of Chedis, that leader of kings, as if he were some animal …" As for discrimination the Hindu text say that the duty of the servant caste is to serve Brahmans (The Laws of Manu 9.334) "But to serve Brahmanas (who are) learned in the Vedas, householders, and famous (for virtue) is the highest duty of a Sudra, which leads to beatitude." To me this sounds like discrimination based on a person's heritage. In fact study's have shown that India is the second most intolerant country (Map shows world's 'most racist' countries (and the answers may surprise you), www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2325502/Map-shows-worlds-racist-countries-answers-surprise-you.html ) "The country with the highest proportion of 'intolerant' people who wanted neighbours similar to them was Jordan, where 51.4 per cent of the population would refuse to live next to someone of a different race. Next was India with 43.5 per cent." Now to be fair I'm not trying to say this to mean I'm just trying show what Hinduism teaches based on my studies and if you would like to defend your position please leave me a response and tell me what I got wrong.

Now you might say that anyone of any religion can do this however the Hindu scripture makes it very clear that only brahmins can achieve understanding of God (Mahabharata 12.188) "They amongst them are not Brahmanas that are incapable of understanding that every created thing is Supreme Brahma. As such anyone who is not a Brahmin past 2 be in the Assemblies of the brahmins in order to end the cycle of rebirth (Katha-Upanishad 1.3.17) "And he who repeats this greatest mystery in an assembly of Brâhmans, or full of devotion at the time of the Srâddha sacrifice, obtains thereby infinite rewards." And since it is very hard if not impossible to achieve the level of understanding required by Hinduism it is safe to assume that very few people have actually achieved Moksha meaning that religions like Christianity has far more people saved than Hinduism does.

Also Moksha is incredibly rare for a person to achieve so it does not seem to be more accessible than an abrahamic concept of the afterlife but rather appears to be more constructive.

Hinduism was simply known as Sanatana Dharma before it was coined as "Hinduism". I recall it being called this by migrants who moved into the Indus Valley thousands of years ago. The only name they could think of to describe them was "Hin-du" - "Indus-ones" (I think that's the vague translation).

Christianity doesn't "frighten" people the way Islam and other religions do. I'm sorry, but I disagree with your argument. It's more of a social issue with religious ideologies. RSS has nothing to do with the main teachings of Hinduism, beating people and forcing them to say "Jai shree Ram" is never acceptable. The great science of consciousness and the mind donated to the world by Siddhartha (AKA Gotama Buddha) some of his teachings are yet to be proved by the modern sciences. There is more science in Hinduism than beliefs. Hinduism is the most diverse religion in the world with respect to its followings, cultures, traditions and values etc. It incorporates the different cultures from north to south, from east to west and the centre. The best thing I love about Hinduism is that it doesn't want you to change anything inside you or what you follow and who you follow, you can be a Hindu even when you don't go to the temple or any religious places, no obligations but to be nice to everyone and to yourself, and the last to know yourself. This is the knowledge of those who know. 13.2I am the Knower of the field in everyone. Though it dwells in the body, it neither acts nor is touched by action. 13.4As akasha pervades the cosmos but remains unstained, the Self can never be tainted though it dwells in every creature. 13.5As the sun lights up the world, the Self dwelling in the field is the source of all light in the field. 13.6Those who, with the eye of wisdom, distinguish the field from its Knower and the way to freedom from the bondage of prakriti, attain the supreme goal. 15.1In this world there are two orders of being: the perishable, separate creature and the changeless spirit. 15.2But beyond these there is another, the supreme Self, the eternal Lord, who enters into the entire cosmos and supports it from within. 15.3I am that Supreme Self, praised by the scriptures as beyond the changing and the changeless. 15.4Those who see in me that supreme Self see truly. They have found the source of all wisdom, and they worship me with all their heart.

As a matter of fact, Christianity and Islam are just RELIGIONS and cannot be called as PHILOSOPHICAL SYSTEMS! Religion is concerned with some rituals, prayers, beliefs, a code of conduct and ceremonies, and nothing more. But these cannot be called as "Philosophy"! Philosophy involves a range and variety of questions, debates, dialectics and so forth. What philosophy is there either in Bible or in Quran, except normative-deterministic statements of the kind "thou shalt do or shalt not do"!? Philosophy doesn't begin until Religion ends!

Sanatan Dharma has freedom to worship any God outside of its religion not unlike Christianity & Islam which have strict rules of praying & worshipping only to their own God😊 People following Abrahamic faith fail to understand that Sanatan Dharma is completely different from their religion & have no comparisons! I disagree with some of the things you said in the video. 1. Sanatana Dharma is eternal truth. It is not only an religion which have a founder and have rituals but actually it reveals truth of nature which had been developed and revealed slowly by our great saint and sages in our past. It's root is so spiritual and deep, which bounds everyone. Its the path through which everyone can attain enlightment. Needless to say, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism are the sub parts of this. I know a State called Odisha In India, there is one group of Hindus called Alekhas who believe on Formless and stay detached from the world. ISKCON are not hindus... they marketed a sect called Goudias and made it more like Abrahmic making Krishna only god. There are SAIVAS.. where Lod Siva is supreme and also SHAKTAS where mother goddess is supreme.. its kind of all in one Religions.. somehow the ancient Rishis kept then Bind. ... And out of all.. Taps In vedas, there is something called "Ishta devata". it means cosmic allegory of your liking. Yes, hindu gods with forms are cosmic allegories which represent 3 natural qualities of everything (including non living) in the diverse universe. The 3 natural qualities or characters or gunas (in sanskrit) called as Rajas (Brahman/creation), Satvik (Visnu/balance) and Tamas (Shiva/destruction). Everything and everyone in this universe has different combinations of these 3 gunas or characters or qualities.

@@trafalgarlaw7142 see at old days almost every house had cow, which provided sustenance and care by giving her milk from which varieties of products could be made or sold on which most families survived, not only that cows are inteliigent and emotional creatures as much as dogs, if a person dies in the household and used to care for it that cow could be seen tearing up that shows the humanity in cows that even some humans lack, this animal is as innocent as it gets. So we honor it not only because of its nature but also because it is one of the main domesticated animals that has helped this cvilization to egt through hard times. tell me would you kill a dog that you have cared for your whole life? when we say worship we mean honor the cow because of its very nature that i talked above it is symbolic to uphold that we should learn from this creature and also cow is considered symbolic for all animals and the message is to respect every living being.
