I am a Nairo fan but this is a despicable comment section. I don't agree that Salem was "spamming witch time." I don't agree that Bayonetta is broken. We are such poor examples of a community.

I love how people say Bayo is boring. But like how many times have we seen a zss just up air up air up air up b. No disrespect to Nairo or Salem because they are both much more than their ladder combos. but people really should shut up about bayo when zss and even sheik combos aren't really that far off from it. I think in this matchup Nairo did really well when he chased Bayo in the air. Once he got under her, his up air strings connected and he got the kill. When he tried to stay grounded and tether grab without say a zair to tether he got punished and being punished by bayo hurts like a bitch. you cant throw out unsafe options because you WILL get witch timed or ladder combo'd.

The BlueAvian I like ladder combos of any kind, they're hype. I don't like frame 4 Witch Twist though, that's kinda broken, as well as Witch Time.

The BlueAvian The only difference is that they have higher risk and higher reward for Bayonetta. Sheik and ZSS don't have to react to SDI and don't get additional landing lag for using specials

Spyro Fury Zss has to go for a laggy grab, and her combos are also not guaranteed. Sheik is clearly the safest one of the three.

Dantiel Barbosa Salem won the most stacked Brawl tournament of all time with a high tier. He beat Mew2King's Meta Knight. You can hate Bayonetta and not like Salem as a player all you want and I can understand your reasons for doing so, but Bayonetta isn't carrying Salem any more than Diddy carries ZeRo or Rosalina carries Dabuz. Salem is an exceptionally and fundamentally strong player.

Ian Green nobody gives a shit about Brawl now, i dont hate Salem, he was actually my favorite player in Brawl, Bayonetta is OP thats why i hate her, Bayonetta is OBVIOUSLY carrying Salem, if not then why he never uses another character ? cuz ZeRo uses Lucina with succes, Dabuz uses Olimar with succes, Nairo uses Bowser with succes, why is Salem using only Bayonetta if he is that "good" ? cuz he knows he cant, he was mediocre in smash 4 before her release and he used characters that were actually pretty good back then (not as OP as bayonetta) like Sheik, ZsS, Diddy and villager (characters that require much more skill than Bayo). VoiD, Nairo, ZeRo, Leo are obviously better than Salem but none of them are using OP characters, thats why Salem is beating them. I hope the patch team realizes how OP she still is (the game isnt dead yet so yeah, patches can still happen) and nerf her or rework her completely, specially her OP counter and her OP recovery.

Dantiel Barbosa Thank you for not attacking me so we can have an intelligent conversation. While I respect and certainly understand your opinion (it was mine for a long time), I think that there's a different reason why Salem has gotten so far with Bayonetta. No doubt he wouldn't get as far as he would with another character, just like ZeRo and Dabuz wouldn't get as far if they mained Lucina and Olimar respectively. I think Bayonetta fits Salem's trademark defensive bait and punish playstyle more than any other viable character. I don't consider Bayo OP or braindead (though I certainly can understand why you do), though she is definitely an incredibly top tier character. The thing with Bayonetta is that her matchups are extremely volatile, as is her character in general. That's why literally every other non Salem Bayo is inconsistent. However, Salem's Brawl fundamentals kick in because he plays the guess or die and conditioning game much better than any other Bayo except 9B and Zack, and still better than them. That's why we see Salem clutching out games with these combos more than any other Bayonetta.

The problem is Bayo is a perfect counter to Zss by design. Nairo needs to try another secondary for this mu because it is not in Zss favor due to Batwithin disrupting so many combos and Witch time making her unable to use Nair and Zair in the nuetral well. However many other characters can counter Bayo playstyle wise by using smaller conversions or safer ones that will punish her kit more effectively. To those saying you can spike Bayo at low percents, Batwithin also disrupts the flipkick spike combo very often. She can also avoid Zero Suit's slowish tether grab with her special moves on landing. Finally she has an easy gimp on Zero Suits tether recovery with Fast fall Nair and Witch Twist to block Flip kicks returning to the stage. These are the reasons why a secondary would be better for the mu.

I mean, Salem double eliminated ZeRo in GF, Salem can beat Tweek, and won 2 S tier tournaments in a row. There are no such things as players better than one another if they are on this type of level. Smash is like rock paper scissors. There's always gonna be that one player you can beat, that the player you can beat could beat the player you cannot beat. Salem and Nairo are both one of the best players in the world, so saying Salem is better than Nairo, or the other way around is plain stupid. They're both incredibly good and ranked at the same caliber skill wise. It just so happens that Salem just beats him. Think of it like this.... Tyroy beat Nairo. Nairo beat Zack. Zack beat Tyroy. Tyroy beating Nairo is convincingly too because it was almost a 3-0.
