Very helpful! Couldn't figure out why my relay wasn't working and realized my Router1 had no clue about the other network (the reason you setup RIP), so it had no way to get that Offer back to the client. I felt so dumb haha. You're so right that if you don't have a good understanding of IP addressing/subnetting, good luck on the test, let alone in the real world. Appreciate the video!

Does this work if we implement NAT on both LANs? I configured the DHCP server with a static NAT map to a public address. Also, the clients in the other LAN were configured through NAT with the overload command. The IP addresses wouldn't get assigned. Any help?

If Router R1 & R2 is replaced with a layer 3 Switch, will they act as same as router does. Will they not pass the broadcast? in that case, is there a need for IP helper in Layer 3 switches as well?

I hope you're still active..... can you make a vid about 1 dhcp server connected to a switch and the switch has 2 routers connecting to it? please, im dying to know to learn about this one (if this is possible), because I tried doing it but only one router gets the IP from the DCHP server, the other one was assigned by the APIPA. Thank you in advance!!!

If you have multiple vlans, you will go into your router, then into your vlan interface (Could be vlan 10) int g0/0.10 and write ip helper-address (then the ip of your dhcp)

MY QUESTION IS THIS : DID U PUT AN IP ADD TO THE SERVER BEC I AM HAVING ISSESWITH THE APIPA
@thenetworkingdoctors3 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure that when you create the IP Helper address, that it is pointing to the DHCP server and that you configure the IP Helper address on the interface that is facing your LAN.

My audience knows me and the way I teach. They are used to it. The most important thing is weather I give out the correct information. The audience can always lower the volume.
