BMW LED Radio Trim Retrofit (For No Cupholder Led) F30 F31 F32 F36

In this video I will be demonstrating you how to retrofit LED ambient radio trim to your BMW F30 F32 F36, this video is unique because in this video I will be showing you how to make the LED radio trim work even if you don’t have Cup holder lights equipped.

Worked for my 2017 440i. Thx so much for this video, very helpful. I got the wire off of eBay for $11 and used a plant holder stick to fish it through the opening. I also recommend using 2 trim tools when removing the button panels from the original trim to keep even pressure so it comes out easier.

By far the best tutorial I’ve seen, really detailed, you put a lot of effort into that. I’m in the middle of doing this mod, I’ve got the cupholder factory fitted ambient lighting wire,it has power but it’s not lighting up the cupholder led or the ac led surround led. Any ideas anyone?

whats the part number for that wire? you're probably going to need to code it with ISTA, I can help but I need that part number to get it as well

@@Ib3tr0lling it’s fixed, I used Ista to reset and clear the front electronic module memory which was full. all the lighting works now as it should

It’s factory fitted if you have the cupholder led and the led dash surround. You can run a wire from the footwell led to set it up. Plenty of tutorials on here!

Thanks for this tutorial! I tried it and the radio trim light works great when the door is open & the footwell light is bright. But when the footwell light dims after closing the door, the radio trim light switches off, anyone with a similar issue?

I have the same issue here. And also I cannot change the color of the trim between orange and blue. It keep orange color and when I switch color it seem to dim a little bit still keep orange color.
