My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article kzbin.infoUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

Make no mistake, the real problem here, with T2D, is the modern industrial diet. It causes glucose adaptation of all cells as the body desperately tries to rid itself of the toxic level in the blood. Because of the refined and inappropriate diet, nearly everyone has become a "sugar burner," whether exercising or particularly at rest. That is why there is too much hepatic glucose production in T2D. The liver has been adapted to delivering glucose when it isn't needed (which is most of the time). We need to train our bodies to burn more fat when at rest. That means eating less often and with less refined carbohydrate.

you have a very good point. It could also be that a high carbohydrate diet even when unrefined may not be very good for the body. Especially the modern day grains that are hybrids and industrially grown as you had said. We are not eating ancient grains like the Einkorn, teff, spelt, kamut, fonio etc. The cattle is mostly fed the same unnatural grains with and the cycle goes on.

My insulin resistance was absolute in the evenings. It is influenced by circadian rhythms. Anyway, no amount of insulin could bring my glucose levels down - well, no amounts of insulin up to 26 units anyway. But within a couple of days of changing to exercising in the afternoon (40 minutes of resistance training followed by two hours of moderate cardio), I rarely needed insulin in the evening and when I do, 6 units do the trick.

Intermittent fasting/ time restricted eating will take care of Insulin resistance. Refer to Dr Jason Fung & Dr Mindy peltz. Good guide lines will b made clear.

i find that very interesting with the exercise pathway. after being a few months on a ketogenic diet my diabetes type 2 is history but there is still some insulin resistance left. one of my problems now is that the weight loss stopped after losing about 25kg in total. that seems to be a common problem with all diets where you are on a caloric deficit for a year or so. i guess the reason is that there is not enough stimulus to grow new mitochondria due to the reduced food intake. so on one side i want to increase the glucose uptake but of course the cell is not a waste basket for glucose. it only takes glucose in, if it can use glucose. and i think this is where HiIT or SIT comes into play. with this extreme intense exercise a very low state of energy is created and therefor some AMPK pathways are activated. on one side for sure also the AMPK alpha1 for activating GLUT4. but there is some other effect in the cell that increases the mitochondrial growth. so maybe that kind of maxed out exercise somehow also activates the mTOR pathway to increase mitochondrial growth. for me something important to select the right exercise is: "if you want to look like a marathon runner, you have to train like a marathon runner. if you want to look like a sprinter, you have to train like a sprinter". well, i have at lease again 20kg of fat to lose but i don't want to look like a marathon runner, i want to look like a sprinter. and that kind of extreme exercise in the area of 10-20 seconds also leads to a maximum mitochondria growth. and of course i need that mitochondria to burn glucose/fat/ketones. i guess this is the way for me to speed up my metabolism, weight loss journey and get ripped as fuck. and get rid of the rest of my insulin resistance long term. thanks for that wonderful nerdy lecture. my brain needs that :-)

Is it possible to gain weight with Keto diet ? Many videos on diabetis seem to advice people to loose weigh to reverse Insulin Resistance. What about people who are not overweight but still got T2D ? First of all if one get diabetis when they are not overweight is it Type 2 or can it be Type 1 ? Why doctors dont test for Type 1 when they are above 40 years but continue to assume its type 2 and start with metformin ?

@@ramanakumar2082 If one is T1 diagnosed after 40, can they really be able to control their T1 without insulin, but only metformin? Can a T1 survive only on metformin? My physician told me if I was a T1, I wouldn't be able to control the D by just using metformin, exercise and low carb. I lost 20kg since diagnosis.

T2D will not, and can not, be fixed with a drug. It is simply reversed by getting the inputs right.

I think when we exarcise like the heart beat increases the same way the pancreas also produce littile more insulin thus lovers the blood sugar when we exercise the body cells need more energy if the glucose goes inside the muscle then what will give the energy to cell and insulin is very important to produce energy in cells

Two major factors! One, little to no activity. Two, eating too many grains in our diet. And lastly, no one seems to be educated on proper health care for the human body including DOCTORS. They just encourage all diabetics to take medication and settle for being sick till they die! Shameful and very sad😔

The muscles are also made up of cells they also needs energy and depends on insulin and glucose
@maschinenraum

the cool thing is that if you eat fat instead of glucose the glucose and insulin levels are going down to prevent further damage. also the fat that you have in your system does not get pushed into cells by the insulin that is rising from carbs. so when switching into fat burning mode that fat in the cells is getting oxidized and cleared out. so you don't have your cell clogged up by fat and glucose. i suggest that these two fuels in a certain ratio in the cells cause the insulin-pathway to take in more glucose is inhibited. it makes sense for me to use up the fat in the cells and then the glucose transport system does it's job again. also some autophagy inside the cell maybe in order to clear out organells that has been damaged by that glucose/fat mixture. throw in a little bit l-carnitin to speed up fat oxidation in a caloric deficit or fasting and you get rid of that junk very fast. and after that it is time to boost mitochondrial growth with some super high intensity interval training completely maxing out the muscles for 15 seconds.

I was still having big spikes in the morning with Keto. I did zero carb for months. Lowest fasting number I got was 130 on either of those diets without fasting for more than 24 hours (115 after fasting 27 hours) So it’s not all about diet. Hormones like cortisol have a big influence on when your liver releases more glucose, and it happens whether or not you’re eating carbs or not. Cortisol spikes in the morning when your body naturally wakes, triggering more glucose to be released. I’m going to try to exercise consistently in the evening and see what happens.
