instead of shift right clicking a potion on your belt, you can hold shift and hit your potion hotkey, 1-4 in your case, and it will give the potion to your merc.

I'm genuinely impressed that you get all the item pronunciations right, since everybody gets them wrong. All the other Diablo 2 guys here on youtube either pronounce visage "vaysage" or ethereal "eth-E-reel" or annihilus "anni-heelose", but you just get them all right. It's just one thing, Guillaume's is pronounced "gee-um's". As you can tell this is something that has been grinding me gears for some reason, so I had to ventilate my frustration hahaha. And of course to applaud you. Anyways, I love your videos! Keep 'em coming. Also one more thing. Since you're playing singleplayer, I would suggest looking into installing plugy. Increased stash capacity, easy re-spec, shared stash for all your characters and overview of your character's stats like how much magic find you have, hit recovery, fcr etc. Much love.

I used to play a magic-find sorceress, then later on, a magic-find summoner, and still later on, a magic-find barb. But one day, I made a hammerdin. He really cut down enemies quickly. But yeah, he'd sometimes get his butt kicked in by that Lord What's-his-face in Chaos Sanctuary. He didn't have much magic find. A P-gem with a shako, an Ist in his HoZ shield with some magic boots or something. How much magic find do you have on this guy? I should have been patient and saved up for an Enigma. That would have really made my hammerdin rock n' roll. I should start playing again, but there's some notorious lag where I'm at. I might have to go the single-player route.

you know i got this map because I was just trying to find a map w/ 2 special chest areas in lower kurast to do some chest runs... it took like 15 or so startups just to get that (even though my LK map isnt that great). So i tried doin that for a bit but i got bored and went and did a full mf run... and this great map just unfolded before me. It was very lucky.

Now i finally know what's meant with the _hammer_ in HD . Awesome . I never play Pals coz they're so decent , but i definitely like that hammer ! But how the hell can playing be fun with so much inv space crammed with charms ??? I only went to Hell once , with my Champion 103 Necromancer . That was a very short visit , the minus 100 was too much : i didn't stand a chance against Corpsefire in the Den . Mind you : you couldn't buy Mana then , and my Nec depended heavily on his Bone(r) Spear .

What i would really like to see in a patch or mod s an eighth character class , where you could select your hero's tabs from each of the three tabs of each of the seven classes . A lightning sorc with pal's auras and nec's summons for instance . Whoa !

Hey, nice video, but I'm currently getting my hdin through A3 hell and I keep having the most insane near death close calls, are there any feesable ways (in SP) of getting around the fact that the hdin seems a bit defensively weak? (I'm thinking of getting a CTA but that's pretty expensive and I probably won't have another for a while).

not sure i have any suggestions beyond the obvious. Keep up max block, get some points in HS, keep popping redemption to get your life/mana back up, mad points in vit, life scs, gear with dr % (shako, or put on a dungos). Beyond that I would say just play more defensively. If you run backwards while casting hammers, most things chasing after you will die before they get to you. Or, once a monster is on screen, just stand and cast hammers and wait for them to walk through them. Your hdin may be a bit weak now but once you get through hell and you start leveling into the mid-80's i think most of this should be solved, depending on your gear of course.

ladder-only uniques drop on single player, even though you cant make ladder-only runewords (unless you get plugy or other stuff)

Yo man i play pretty similarly, but i havent found that many high runes just yet. I thought about installing plugy many times but i decided not to since i consider some of the cheap runewords to be gamebreakingly strong. It just feels like cheating to me. I use gomule though. As i could have had a million level 1 characters to keep the items on and transferred them whenever i played on LAN with friends which we sometimes do. That doesnt feel as wrong at the least. I recently found a unique sacred armor from the second wave of baal and it turned out to be templars might with the shittiest roll possible lulz. Anyways you got just the kind of videos i have been searching for. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I feel the same way. Everyone recommends PlugY but the main reason I resist is I think all those ladder-only runewords are overpowered. For instance Fort/Grief require only 1 Lo.. I mean its nuts. Plus other weps like Oath and stuff.. it's just crazy. I kinda wish I could do Ubers tho because I think the work/difficulty/reward ratio is pretty decent. Also I do that exact thing where I have a bunch of lvl 1 mules.. I think I'm gonna make a video of my muling system soon. That's why I make these videos really--how to build characters within the constraints of vanilla single player

+Kruggers13 you can disable the ladder-only-runeword in plugy, simply change the .ini line from 1 (YES) to 0 (NO) and you cant make them ^.^ Plugy10.0 is pretty much 100% modifiable...

@@kruggers1329 you can make ladder only runewords in single player. Look up youtube vids to see how. Alara Shade has a pretty good video explaining how to do it as an example. No mods, just changes to the executable file and a text file download. That said, I play my Hammerdin like you do I use redemption for mana as well. Awesome vid. Thanks for posting

Hmm that sounds pretty cool, but I must say that I also don't use them because I think a lot of the ladder-only runewords are a bit overpowered. Then again! seems like i'm the only one who plays without them these days lol so even though I like the game my way, perhaps my videos arent very useful to most

Hard to say. One answer is that it has taken 3 years... but that is 3 years of occasional playing, including periods where i didnt play for months at a time. (One reason I play single player is that I can pick it up and put it down). Also, I started single player with a frost zealot, which makes mfing pretty dang tough. I'd say that with a decent amount of play time and some smart choices (e.g. start out with a MF blizz sorc and cheese kill meph like 2000 times, then do pindle/ancient tunnels etc) you could gear up a whooole lot faster than that. The best MF is sorceress with maybe 350+ mf ,120 fcr, 34k lightning clear everything faster than other....... so many professors !!!!! no need mana pot or anything. The only thing is Inf weap on merc thats it

Enigma is number one game breaking item. I hate it so much I stop playing D2 15years ago when I saw all the char flying around on bnet. It gives you everything you ever need, even frw and mf which are totally irrelevant in the runes. Also the strength per level is broken too. It overpowers literally anything else in the game. What blizzard was smoking when they designed such a stupid runeword. IMO teleport skill with 2skills and one more resist mod is already overpowered a bit.

With and without Enigma basically players are playing two different games, build consideration, stats allocation, survivability etc etc. With or without CTA is another threshold but nowhere near as imbalanced as Enigma. Infinity is somewhat broken but only impacts certain builds and chars.

@@frankluo230 It definitely is crazy, but maybe the sorceress's teleport skill was broken in the first place and they wanted to even the playing field a bit. But, true, they didn't have to give the runeword all those amazing stats on top of it lol. It's a top-tier item for virtually every build in the game, even javazons use it lol. Having said that, in the single player context, these runewords are very hard to make. By the time you find the runes, you probably have beaten the game w/o engima 100 times over. And when it comes to dueling and pvp it doesn't bother me quite as much.
