Thanks for the video and support of Diablo II ! ) There is a way to increase your damage and effectiveness, but it's expensive: you can use "Dual-Dream" setup ("Dream" runeword in helm and paladin shield with high all resistances). In this case you get level 30 Holy Shock aura (not 15, because due to the mechanics both auras stack) and you free 20 skill points, which can be invested in Fanaticism (more physical part & attack rating + big help to your merc) or Conviction (more elemental part and -% enemy defence). "Dream" has also very good and useful stats, but needs a good roll, though. Both "Dreams" give +40-60% Faster Hit Recovery, so you can easily swap your boots for Gore Rider or Goblin Toe for more Crushing Blow, and if you put free skill points in Fanaticism, then you don't need IAS on weapon and belt, so you can swap belt for, say, String of Ears (much better safety variant), move mana steal on rare ring, if you need it, and free a socket in your Azurewrath for +20% Chance of Crushing Blow with Ber rune. Then you'll be cool even for higher player setting difficulty. )

I did this build (dual dream) using a 15% lightning ormus with a 5% facet in it, a grief with dracs+string of ear (Life steal, you can get more lightning damage with a 6 facet PB but won't leech at all), then Gore riders with Raven Frost+Metalgrid (AR+ resists). Aura is always Conv, i ended up doing 13k lightning damage with zeal (+grief hidden damage) The synergized lvl 30 holy shock aura mixed with conviction was dealing so much damage that it could clear an entire pack of Oblivion/Doom knight in 3 shocks from the aura in a P1 game, most lesser mobs were dead in 1-2 shocks and tough mobs in about 5. I also used an act 1 merc with faith for attack speed (Fana.). Never seen anything as devastating for PVM and anything surviving more than 10 sec usually get the Confuse curse, so crowd control is also insane.

It's kinda expensive, but you can use Dream helm + shield and they would stack to lvl 30 Holy Shock and also get benefit from synergy with Lightning Res. That way you can run conviction, never worry about immunes and focus on CB and good phys dmg for leech. Most OP build I ever played, but as said, not cheap :) That said I love your setup, every few years I pick up D2 and start playing single player. It's just amazing how satisfying it is in SP how your builds work themselves out.

As many people find it boring, i always loved the hammerdin. Great overall build which is really good for farming hell. I used to have a beastly hdin who had over 3500 health and dealt nearly 18k per hammer.

Bro I run the SAME EXACT build on my Tesladin. The only thing i run different from you is that I do run Marrow walks and then laying of hands and cast the life tap when I need it. Otherwise you can run a magic find build with a shako, upped goldwrap (10%attack speed) and war travs, then obviously enigma. Azurewrath is so underrated man. I ran 2 on my frenzy barb with Gface and Goblin Toes (don't need Faster run with frenzy) and it was amazing man!

@@luizricardo4493 For a holy shock zealer? I think basically if you're using a phase blade w/o fanaticism, you need 75% ias to get to max zeal breakpoint. CS has 20% on it, so you'd need 55% off-wep. I'd say if you need to use nos coil to get the ias, then use it. If you don't need it, use a dungo's. If you're using exile then you don't need dracs, so you can use ias gloves and it might be pretty easy to get the 55% without using nos coil. But anyway it all depends on your gear.

I use a Doom Berserker Axe, Chains of Honor, 3 Offensive aura ami, Spirit shield with 41 resist all, raven frost ring, bk ring, Nightwing Veil helm, Dungos belt, Laying of hands gloves, and up'ed Tearhaunch boots. Merc uses Infinity weapon, Treachery armor, and Vampire gaze with 15 is jewel. This works really good with the aura stacking as Merc has might aura and conviction, pally has holy shock and holy freeze. This way paly has 12k damage and walks through just about anything.

Why not shael the weapon? You have a lot of life steal before the perfect skull, life after each kill and life tap. Crescent moon is nice because of the ignore target defense for all the normal monsters.

The other build I saw was similar, except instead of Holy shock they dumped points into conviction. Not sure if that worth the change though for lightning resist monsters. They also use Dream helm and dream shield, but that's expensive.

Super expensive, and extremely worth it. Double Dream grants a level 30 Holy Shock, and still gets your synergies from Resist Lightning for example. You do more damage with a strong Conviction aura to all monsters, reducing their resists by 100% or more, causing double damage to those who were 0% immune, and for example triple damage to those who start out with +50%. Conviction also makes the enemy defense minimal AND if the foe is a Conviction aura monster, you cancel out their aura, unlike the merc with the Conviction aura polearm. Consider an upped nightsmoke belt. It can help with mana problems, gives a little resist too. I used to use one for a pure smiter to do the ubers. Even if you're totally surrounded and there are some mana burn enemies, you'll still get enough mana to use your skills. Your mana will be refilled by taking damage from ranged attackers since the mana burn bug only effects melee attacks.

Word thats a cool idea actually. Only thing is right now i'm reliant on the 10 ias from nos coil to get to max frames. Plus enigma has 15% damage to mana, so I've got some of that effect goin.

Nice video man, I was looking to make a dope pally build and was trying just a basic zeal + fanat but when I switched up to a tesladin I was just crusing in my runs with very little effort and also I was a able to kill dclone with it in about 15 seconds. It's kidof like a dual tree sorc too in how you have a decent amount of physical dmg from your zeal but you can also crush physical immunes and even lightning immunes were giving me almost no trouble with this either (reapers on the merc seems to help a lot also).

I'm guessing that under pluggy, adding infinity on merc brings up your dommage output quite a bit right? Plus it can break a couple of immunes. I'll give it a go in the next couple weeks! Thanks for the share, great build!!

On vanilla SP ladder only gear drops, but you can't make ladder only runewords. And I play vanilla SP, so if you have the standard game you can get this gear. Anyway, I have a new vid of this character up where I use the crescent moon phase blade as a wep. So that's a good substitute. Or Stormlash. Idk your budget, but honestly any normal decent melee wep will do probably

I mostly just level by playing through the game, then i do baal runs. In Normal from levels ~25-45ish, in NM from ~55 to ~70ish, then onto hell. Typically I hit hell ancients around level 80. Across all my characters this has been remarkably consistent.

yeah since i made this video i found a near perfect azurewrath and put it on him.. it is truly among the best weapons in the game in my opinion. It really is one-stop shopping for physical immunes, its fast as shit, its very balanced i think, you can really take on anything with it

With mine, I have equiped exile on a 42 all res shield. I can take the set gloves 20ias 350 damage to demon instead which gives me alot more physical damage on demon (half monster in the game almost). I use thundergods for lightning survivability. Crescent moon instead of azurewrath. I gived an infinity to my merc. Lightning immune monster are not a problem even on players8. I use gorerider for boots for a little bit of crushing blow and co. Same armor, same helm, same amy Crescent moon gives alot of damage with the -35% lightning. Its very noticable on immune monsters that infinity break. This is my favorite build so far. With charms I can reach 16k

Cheapest version would be: Helm - Any, Amu - Angelics, Weapon - crescent moon Phase Blade, Armor - Treachery (fade,venom,IAS,FHR), Rings - Angelics, Shield - Rhyme (allres,cannot_be_frozen), Gloves+Belt+Boots, well the lowest would be probably Sigon's + some AR,resist,FHR charms and a might (or holyfreeze) merc :-)

I would use “shaeled stormlash” and gores, so you would get decent CB, boost lighting damage and physical damage :) No need a magic and cold damage dealing with physical immune monsters as you have holyshock already

Hmmm very interesting! Actually I did switch the boots to gores after I made this vid and that was a big help but for some reason I never thought of using stormlash. That might definitely be a big boost.. provided a shael'd stormlash gets to the fastest bp, which I'm sure it would right? Maybe the only benefit azurewrathe would have is the aura, which does help with souls in particular and other undead as well.

It's not as hard as one might think, though still very impressive. The short answer is by magic finding a whole lot. The drops aren't intractably low, and if you keep at it, you'll get some decent items fairly quickly (Oculus, War Traveler, Shako, Arachnid Mesh, stuff like that is not too difficult to come by). Still, this guy tons of nice items, and obviously he's invested a lot of time into it.

You make a meteorb sorc. Cheese kill mephisto a billion times. Once you find occy it helps a lot. You get way faster. I don't use arachnid mesh myself. Goldwrap is the way to go. 2 mf rings. Skiller circlet with ptopaz - I had +3 fire skills circlet which gave nothing else. Vipermagi with ptopaz. Vipermagi is really common btw. Rhyme shield. Rare mf boots. I used to run hell meph with a pure fire sorc until i found Shako. You cant get your character to hell act 3 with a single element build ofc. I respec after reaching act 3. Gheed's charm is also not so rare.

It also comes down to chance. I have been looking for gore riders for more than a year. I found an IK armor the first time i killed pindle. Then i found tal's ammy from a stash in act 3 etc.

I've found that pure blizzard works best myself. Pretty sure I made it all the way through with just that. I've found dual element builds to be really weak. Better to skip over immunes IMO. Goldwrap is a good alternative to Arach, but hitting that extra breakpoint can pay off in time saved more than the magic find increase. Eventually you'll want to aim for places like Ancient Tunnels and Chaos Sanctuary, where that extra damage and cast speed can really help you survive, or at the very least, get the job done more quickly.

Well fcr doesnt really help with blizzard but i do keep a wand shield combination on switch that hits the next fcr breakpoint for teleporting. Pure blizz is probably better for playing the game through and farming those areas. I switched to pure blizz as well. Though i'd argue that pure fire is faster at killing meph as at some point all i did was farming meph and tried a few builds. It might be the gear i had at the time being more suitable for that build. I also find blizzard annoying as it tends to bug at some places. Playing the whole game with that skill gets boring over time. Also Arach has high level req. Then again if you found one you are prolly capable of equipping it heheh. You are right tho blizz is definitely better overall.

I never said I believed the term "Tesla" originated with the car... I simply said I knew where the term came from. My comment in the video about not knowing where the term comes from was imprecise (can you imagine that?). It is obvious that the "Tesla" in "Tesladin" refers to the original Nikola Tesla (spelled with a k, btw), but it is not as obvious how a particular build in Diablo 2 (that being a zealot that uses Holy Shock as its main aura) came to be branded a "Tesladin." Certainly there are other characters in the game (javazons, light sorcs) that use lightning damage, and yet they are not called "Teslazons" or "Teslasorcs." Having said that, I would like to congratulate you on your successful seizing of the opportunity to provide me with a poorly written, and yet condescending, lecture. You sure showed me.
