This is not the New Tristram theme. Please change the title as it is incredibly misleading and is causing people to go apeshit in the comments. He was simply playing a improv song using the Diablo tuning.

Yea.. of course it's not THE theme track. Although how would anyone NOT implicitly understand that a live performance at BlizzCon would of course not be the exact "original" composition from the game soundtrack, but either an improvisation or separate composition based ON the soundtrack. They don't let random bobtails play on their stage, so unless someone clicking/tapping the video link seriously never heard of BlizzCon and/or somehow has only limited general understanding of diversity/improvisation concepts, that someone has no reason to get confused by it.

Fuck the haters. This is an inspired performance by a skilled guitarist. Yeah sure he doesn't go into the main melody or play it exactly as it is laid out in the track, but Juber does start off with a very memorable motif of the Tristram theme at 0:12 (a variation of that same riff appears in the Wilderness Outtake), he jams it out twice, then just goes off into an acoustic rampage on the overall theme. Sure one could argue he gets a little carried away by playing the hell out of that 12 string guitar, and I think he may hit the limiter/compressor a bit, but he does revisit an element of the motif a couple times within his quick and powerful jam. I think Juber did a good job rocking out on Matt Uelman's piece. Obviously this doesn't have the exact same slower dark and brooding vibe of the original Tristram track, but I don't think that was the intent here. Seems to me like Juber went for a dark but much more aggressive sound. Like as if Hell is rising from all around you kind of feel. I would love to see elements of this jam and the motif revisited in other tracks or maybe some boss fight themes. My 2 cents.

+Rizz Bot i don't like it, why it's simple, not hate on the guy, but ruined the Diablo mood of slow and creepy song, of that fear we had when we were little in that environment and made it into a happy old man jam style of song, not bad made by any means but avoids the mood the game required to have all around.

The fact that people are complaining this doesn't sound like Diablo, your right, it doesn't. However, this title is misleading as well. He was simply showing off his skills. And its further evident that the title is wrong because this music never showed up in the game.

Excellent performance, really great. And it has moments where it sounds amazingly like Tristram! I think the main reason people love the original theme is because it's more brooding and evocative. "that guy" is Laurence Juber who not only was a member of Paul McCartney's band 'Wings' touring and writing and recording albums that are still famous today, but he'a also gone on to a successful solo career as a finger style guitarist recording complex new versions of songs and writing some of his own too. I've no right to criticize his style unless you can play like that and you've been chosen by a Beatle and other large companies over plenty of other wannabes.

The original Tristram song was meant to create a lamenting and desperate feel vibe, this one is more in the line of "We live, we like to live, we like to live good and party, and we are more prepared than ever to fight the evil!". Just because slow and dark songs have the advantage of sounding better, it's a mild illusion, and this song fits just well to the game. D3 never failed, you failed to comprehend a totally different period in the Lore and shining new game, talk to me in 10 years!
