There is a VERY, and I mean "VERY" important quest in act 6 called "Fallen from Grace" where you are required to clear the Twilight Strand, location to the left from the main city of act 6. After that the NPC that gave you this quest - Lilly Roth - will allow you to buy ALL of the gems that are in the game (except for some special ones). She will be available all the time in act 6 as well as in your hideout if you invite her. Also about sockets, there are items with 6 sockets on them with white-ish/gray-ish background that you can sell for orbs that allow you to modify the amount of sockets on your items and items with darker background with 3 different color sockets connected that you can sell for orb that allows you to change the colors of the sockets on your item. Very useful if you find an intem with good stats but not fitting sockets.

If you want to fix your survivability pay attention on how much elemental ressistances you have its highly recommended to have them maxed out especially after act 5 (id say its even mandatory if you want to stop losing this much exp form deaths) you can check how much ressistances you have by pressing C and going into defenses. ( you get ressistances from items or passive tree usually). Also dont pick up every items filter shows you its good (and yes you can customise it in website to suite your own character) as my tip for you only pick up items that are good for you as an example if you are ranger using a bow its good idea to focuse on evasion based items (the most important mods for you on items should be: max life, elemental ressitances, evasion, chaos damage(ignore physical damage scourge arrow does not benefit as much as you think from it (also look into toxic rain skill might like it)), and always have +% mov speed on your boots. also you should stop using steelskin as damage taken setup while it might have been good early on the further you progress the more useless it becomes (because if back then monsters ware doing 200 dmg and you ware getting a shield for 150 that would actually make a difference but at this stage when monsters hit you through your non existent defense they are doing 1000 dmg but you still getting shielded for 150 and their damage will increase further while your shield will not) so ether swap steel skin for immortal call that just makes you immortal or take cast when damage taken out and assign steel skin as your left click so that you can use it as your walk button and you use it the momment it comes off cd (that way you can also level up the skill so it scales with you and monsters around you. There are more things to be said here but i think you will learn as you go (important thing tho is for you to use wiki because poe while it might seem to provide a lot of info it has a lot of things hidden that you need to figure out yourself and wiki helps explain how certain skills or items or stuff in general comes to play or functions) (Also there is this app/website you can use to plan your character " "poeb" path of building" that helps you plan your character so you dont have to respec or use orbs of regrets (you should aim to have at least 150% increased life from your passive tree and thats rly just the bare minimum required)

Higher level gear will offer higher resistances, higher life, and higher armor/evasion/energy shield modifiers. This game is very gem/link dependent, but also EXTRAORDINARILY gear dependent. Sorry if this is too much spoilers/guidance Gems like "cast when damage taken" can only trigger their supported spells (linked gems) if the gem is low enough level for it to be supported. You can basically out level the gems from eachother. Also the higher level cast when damage taken is, the higher the damage thresh hold is for the gem to trigger, and since you want steel skin to activate more, keep both of the gems lower level.

The spooky red place you passed over is called a Vaal Side Area. The Vaal are ancient people in the lore. They're all about sacrifice and corruption. The side areas contain a chest at the end that gives Vaal Skill Gems (the corrupted gems) as well as other things. All the items that drop inside roll as "corrupted" which means their stats can't be altered in most cases. Even unique class items can be corrupted. Corruption has a chance to add nothing, but can potentially do wild and wacky things like adding special modifiers or changing some of the sockets White which lets any color of gem be placed in it. Also in Vaal Side areas you can later find Fragments of At'ziri which if you have all 4, you can go to a special area and fight At'ziri, the Queen of the Vaal, and one of the first real big kid bosses in the game. She's kinda hard, and serves as a good benchmark for how good your build is for endgame.

*non-spoily tips* Mana tip: Avoid having your Aura gems connected to any Support gems (unless you REALLY know what you are doing). Support gems have a "Cost & Reservation Multiplier" which will increase the amount of mana an aura skill will reserve, and they do close to nothing in terms of improving auras, it will just bite a bigger chunk of your mana. Also, more available mana = more space for multiple auras 😎 Damage tip: Now, differently from aura gems, you probably want as many Support gems as possible linked to your main damage skill. It is one of the most efficient ways of scaling damage, to the point that, in many cases, it's better to wear gear with worse stats but with the right sockets amount/links/colors. That is why the filter was highlighting the glove with 4 linked sockets. The dream scenario is a 6-link (main skill + 5 support gems), but an item with 6 connected sockets is so rare that I doubt you will see one during the main campaign 🙃 Sure, your main skill will cost more mana, but then you can grab some form of mana regen or cost reduction and test how much your build can handle.
@velho6298 Жыл бұрын
Remember to utilize the crafting bench at hideout you can craft movement speed and resistances there also the simple approach to improve your gear to do more damage is to check the gem tag and tooltip. Gem tag is shown below the gem name. Gem tag might be something like "chaos" etc and you then pick items that assists these properties. The damage over time is a little bit different but there's damage over time modifiers as well. But the strongest way to achieve and easiest way to get more power is to use the support games

Watched the whole series these last 2 days. Love it so far! A little quality of life tip I didn't see in the comments yet: It looked like you're manually clicking on your currency and gem tabs to put stuff into them. If you instead right-click on your tabs, you can mark a checkbox to automatically put all currencies into your currency tab, all skill gems into your gem tab, div cards into your div tab and so on. This is for all special tabs. For regular tabs, there's multiple boxes for different kinds of items/mechanics, so you could mark one of your other tabs to, e.g., automatically get all flasks and jewels. That makes storing stuff way faster and easier, since you can just ctrl+click through your entire inventory without having to switch tabs in-between AND you'll always know where you put certain stuff.

It's good to see you're enjoying PoE, I'm having fun watching and reminiscing these fights as I'm watching you. Not sure if anyone already mentioned this but here goes. Some tips on bossing: Put/Activate a portal down after entering the boss room, this will help in the event if you died and accidentally clicked return to town. Also if you noticed that your flasks charges are empty, you can visit town through the portal to recharge them. Note to remember is that if you visit town via your portal it will vanish and you need to open another portal just to be safe. Also one thing about "picking/looting up and vendor them", by picking up items that are small like rings, amulets, belts and even with wands, daggers or blades that eats up to 3 inventory slots will help in managing your inventory and helps you with not portal-ing to towns frequently. One more thing, the instances of maps can be reset by holding Ctrl + Click on the door and choose a new one. Side QoL Try Ctrl/Alt on Vendor Shift on stacking item to unstack Hope this will help you in your journeys in the future. Hoping you will also join the Affliction League or continue finishing the campaign with this character. Keep up the good works dude.

A quick compendium of info: A Blacksmith's Whetstone and Armorer's Scrap sells for 4 and 2 Wisdom Scrolls, respectively. This is called a vendor recipe. (more on those below) Jeweller's Orb: Change *number* of sockets (It will not consume the Orb if the item has max sockets) Orb of Fusing: Change *links* of sockets (same logic as above, it will not work if the item has max links) Chromatic Orb: Change *colors* of sockets As you may have noticed, there is no gold in this game. The point of picking up items to sell is to obtain the various currencies in the game. These are called vendor recipes. Example being that Tomahawk you discovered (an item with 1 Red 1 Green & 1 Blue socket all linked together = 1 Chromatic Orb). You do not need to identify the item for this particular vendor recipe. Another example is an item with six sockets will sell for 7 Jeweller's Orbs. It looks like this was filmed in Ancestor league which ended first week of December. You will likely have to continue your ventures in Standard. Don't worry about it, doesn't really affect you in your current PoE career. (If you do get swapped to Standard, I have hundreds of Orbs of Regret I can throw you so you can respec) It is VERY important that you do *NOT* level up the Cast When Damage Taken support gem as the higher the level it is, the more damage required to trigger it. You typically want it at level 1. Anyone telling you to "check out" maps is stup- ...let's say overzealous, as you must beat all of the Acts first.

I've only watched up to the 20 minute mark, so you might have taken care of this already - but when you completed Act 5, your character was cursed to get -30% to all resistances so I think you're dealing with lower resistances than you had before. The lightning totems mod is brutal. You need to keep on moving because the totems keep warping to you, and since your scourge arrow is a channeled skill you can't quite move around quickly while also dealing damage.

the satin gloves are showing on your loot filter as special because they are 4 link gloves meaning all of the gem sockets are linked together allowing you to use up to 3 support gems for one active gem on that piece of gear alone
@deano4138 Жыл бұрын
Those Satin Gloves you were confused about were highlighted because they had 4-linked sockets. During the campaign the sockets/colors/links are usually more important than the stats on the item. You can use some cheap crafting options (like slamming 1 alchemy orb or essence) to add some decent stats to an item with good links. But adding the right sockets to an item you find that's already good is relatively much more expensive. When you start progressing through the endgame, you'll be using the items long enough that spending currency to add the sockets/links yourself becomes worth it, but leveling up youll replace the item before you get your money's worth.

Cast when damage taken support increases the required threshold of damage taken with levels. It's a rare case when you don't want to level it up because the threshold is more than your health. If you right click on the plus, it hides the gem level up. The supported skill gem also needs to be below level requirement of cwdt.

Dude, that glove at 11:52 were insane for leveling/campaign. They were highlighted because it was 4 links. Links are the things you care most on campaign because they're the most difficult thing to get early on. As you can see, you're lacking on orbs that change sockets on any way (numbers, links and colors). And more than that. That gloves rolled A LOT of life for the campaign and it had and empty suffix. Which means you could go to your hideout and add one resistance into it. Like, drop something with life, go to your hidedout, check which resisntace you're lacking the most (ignore chaos for now) and add it to the gear. Or get a item with good resistance(s) and add life into it. You don't need to be a nerd at crafting to create some usefull campaign items. Life+Resist is all you need and it is really simple to get it. Blue gears are really good for campaign if you can get life+resistance on them. So if you drop a white (since it has no mods) or blue (if it has Life or Resistance) item with 4 links of the colours you want. You can just go to your hideout, craft Life or Resistance and pray to get the missing of the two when you use a Orb of Augmentation. Yellow gear are also good since they can have more stuff. But a full set of blue items with good life and resistances is all your neeed to carry you through the entire campaign. If you have yellows with those mods, nice. But blues aren't useless at all. Like, white item has nothing on it. If you go to your hideout and add something with the bench, it will turn into a blue item with one mod. Blue items can have two mods, so you can use a Orb of Augmentation to add a new random mod. If you have dropped a blue item. It can have up to two mods. So if you got one good mod (like those gloves you got), you can go and craft another one, or use the Orb. But since the Orb adds a random thing, just craft on the bench since you can choose the mod. Just remeber that you can only have one preffix and one suffix on blue items. And by holding ALT on the item, it tells you if the mod is a preffix or suffix. For instance. Life is preffix and Resistances are suffixes. Yellow items can have 3 preffixes/suffixes. So if you have a gg yellow, you may be able to add something too.

Was interesting seeing the new player perspective and glad you're keeping at it! I'll post a few tips that you may or may not have seen: - At the end of A5, losing to Kitava caused you to have -30% to all resistances (it says this in the chat area but many people may not pick up on it). You can check your defenses in-game by pressing C and going to the defenses section, which may give you some insight about what kinds of damage you are taking more of. Side note, spells ignore your evasion, that's what spell suppression is for. - On the filter: it will show you 4-linked items of all kinds during the campaign, because the links are quite important in scaling the player power in the game. 4L is somewhat a very normal amount of links to have up until the 'start' of the endgame, for your main skill(s). Also, the filter may cull some of the items you don't want to pick up, but you also don't need to pick up something just because the filter makes it show up if you're annoyed at going back and forth out of town too much. - If you ever need more of some of the basic currencies (like more jewelers/fusings), you can buy some at the town vendors, the same ones that sell you flasks/gems. It's not a great exchange rate though. As others have suggested, crafting bench is also your friend to tinker with mods that you want to have. - For your stash tabs, you can right click them at the top to name them and such, but you can also set an "affinity". When you do this, when you add items to a tab, it will automatically redirect to the affinity tab. So a gem tab that has the affinity checked will always take your gem items, unless you manually drag them into the stash. - For mana/life recovery, one option you may want to look into is mana/life leech. You can find it as a support gem, on items, or on your passive tree. You can also use a "Lifetap" support gem, which lets you pay life instead of mana for the linked skill, and double down on life recovery.

Just finished watching all the episodes, really enjoying the series, you're making me want to play POE again :) A few non-spoiler noobie tips (not sure if anyone else has mentioned this): - Under options > UI > map, you can change the map zoom (game changer!). - If you haven't already done so, go back to part 1 and complete every optional quests. Those give good rewards, including passive skills. - Always pick up and identify rare rings, amulets, belts and jewels. Keep them if they have high resist. They are very useful for balancing your resistances when you change major gear pieces. - If your aura gems are linked to valid support gems, they increase the mana reserved. At lower levels when mana is an issue, I usually end up putting aura gems with other utility gems (like Dash). - ALWAYS have a dash, and get used to using it often! - Get any 2 3-socket weapons, or one weapon with 6 sockets, to keep on your second weapons slots (when you hit X). The gems you socket here also get XP as you play, so it's a good way to up-level gems you want to experiment with. - There is an 'auction house' but it's almost a whole other game to figure out and use successfully. If you're interested, go to the POE website > Trade. Good luck :p

Doing great! Tip for the STEELSKIN combo you got going on and why it’s not activating much: the Cast When Damage Taken Support is one the few gems in the game you need to Think about if you want to level it or not. Leveling it higher gives you the ability for the linked skill to also level with it. More damage etc if it was a dps gem. And more importantly, it increases the threshold for how much damage you need to take before it triggers. A bad thing. So, a common idea is to keep the gem level 1 (right click the + icon to stop seeing it) and put the gem it’s supporting at the exact level below the requirement. Which for lv 1 CWDT is lv 38. Looking at the wiki for Steelskin the max level you want it is level 10 not higher. It will give you a smaller buff but it will trigger far more often. Like every 600 damage taken for a 500 shield not every 6000 taken for a 1500 shield. Hopefully you got all that lol. If you want to get level 1 gems, the side quest here in act 6 gives you the ability to buy EVERY gem at lv 1 only, so you can buy another Steelskin too to relevel it not higher than 10

The pillars spawn far too often and do way too much damage. I dunno what Chris was thinking when he made that. They probably used the same code for the purple crystals that spawn under you when you hit the enemy. I dont mind the crystals but the totems can go fuck themselves. lol

Love the series! I know you don't want major guidance from the comments, so I'll just give some tips about the loot filter, selling items, and something you did before but might have just neglected, stuff like that. You don't need to worry too much about picking up and identifying every item to sell them. While the loot filter shows every potentially good item, like you noticed, you only really care about certain things (dexterity based items and bows right now), so don't worry about every energy shield hat you find. That said, some items (like the axe you found and looked up) sell for different things. The main ones to look out for will be highlighted by the loot filter, and are items with a G-R-B socket linked (sells for a chromatic orb, which lets you reroll colors of sockets) and items with 6 sockets, which sell for 7 jewellers (let you reroll sockets in items). 32:22 had 3 of items with 6 sockets (highlighted in white by the filter), which made me cringe inside lmao, but that's just part of playing while new and is great content for a viewer. That's always valuable to grab and sell. Some of the items the loot filter were showing you (that you were confused about) were items that had good sockets or links. Those gloves blue energy shield gloves, for instance, were 4 sockets with all 4 linked, which is the best a glove can have. Also, don't forget about the crafting bench in your hideout! Upgrading items with it right now is very cheap, and if you're gonna be using an item for a while is always worth it. Getting more damage or attack speed on weapons, or movement speed on boots, or life or resistances on armor and jewelry is always valuable. If you want to have dash on another button, or summon ballistas, I'd suggest remapping the keys to be things Mouse 4/5, if you have them on on your mouse. Finally, if you ever run out of scrolls of identify (the lowest currency in the game), you can sell other currency to get it, namely Orbs of Transmutation, and weapon/armor quality items. Shouldn't be an issue though.

regarding the lightning totem enemy at the beginning, it is important to remember every time you switch to new gems you will lose a lot of damage as they are not as leveled as the prior gems. If only there was a way to level gems you're not using, 'wink wink nudge nudge'

-You can sell orb of transmutes, armor/weapon stones for identification scrolls. -whenever you get new gear, ALWAYS go to your hideout and craft additional modifiers to them for additional damage/life/resistances. -PLEASE after you finish the "Fallen from grace" quest, buy a molten shell gem and put the skill as your left click. -The filter you we're confused about at around 12:00 The satin gloves, it shows the gloves because it's already 4 socket and all linked. -You can use alteration orbs in blue/magic items to reroll their modifiers (and chaos orbs for yellow/rare items) -get rid of your current orange/unique helmet as it's mainly for minions and you dont have minions so it's kinda useless for your build and for aesthetic purposes lol

12:07 its because youre at a lvl where looking at 4 linked items are a priority, so you can see all 4 linked items easily. And yes you can change options to focus more on certain items than others... but that takes a lot of time and is really hard, you need a lot of game knowledge for that. You could look up some other content creators that does a lot of bow builds and see if they have a link to a filter, but generally you should be fine without it.

Two things (since people already talked about elemental resists): 1. Changing multiple gems at once will drop your damage heavily because most gems rely hugely on gem level for scaling! 2. One very important note to keep in mind for when searching for a new bow and/or quiver for your chaos dmg (poison) build is to look for either Chaos Damage modifiers on the bows/quivers, or just damage overtime overall, since that can double or even triple your current damage. The physical damage on the bow will not scale your current skills' overall damage, since the skills' damage is entirely dependent on only its damage type modifiers (such as fire damage for fire skills, chaos damage for chaos skills, etc). The weapon's damage is viable only when you have any sort of physical damage conversion to whatever you are using (which is a really niche mechanic). Hope this helps when trying to craft or choose a new bow! (also you can just spam essences on random white bows with 4 links that you find, since those will turn them into rare items with new modifiers and you can get lucky with a super amazing bow, quiver, or any other piece of gear that you may need)
@BlueTemplar152 ай бұрын
Conversion isn't a niche mechanic, at least for 3 classes the very first skill gem they get has conversion on them. Also, Poison has inherent conversion-like properties, being based on both physical and chaos damage (which the game tells you, if a bit in a hidden way, in the Alt-view for Poison modifiers - it really should also tell that in the Ailments' Help page). But of course he was also unlucky to pick one of the most complex of damage types for a first character, since in addition of poison being based on two kinds of damage, there also exists chaos damage over time that is NOT poison, and so is NOT (directly) based on physical damage ! (Which you might be hinting at here, don't remember the specific skill gem that he uses exactly...) (Wait, hopefully all of *those* have (without cosmetics) purple rather than green effects, I should check on that...)

Also, the best way to use Blacksmith and Armor currency is to scour the item (Usually only if the item is blue/gold etc) and then use the currency item. Blacksmith whetstone currency gives 5% to grey items, which then can be alchemy orb'd back to a gold item with better tier roles.

The Satin gloves dropped that way because they are a fully socketed and fully linked gloves. Other than that they aren't special. Gloves,helm,boots, get up to 4 sockets/4 links. Two handed melee weapons and bows can get 6 sockets/6 links and body armor can get up to 6 sockets/6 links. Also on certain rings&amulets you can get 1 socket on them as well. 1 handed melee can only get 3 socket/3 link but you can dual wield. You just wont have the effects of all 6 of the sockets since they are separate weapons. If you want to reroll sockets and links use orbs of fusing and jewelers orbs. You can reroll one at at time or use your crafting bench to get a guaranteed fully socketed/linked piece of gear which you will want your gear to have max of both. Re rolls on 4 socketed gear isn't to hard to hit a max roll. Six sockets/links is a bit more tricky on the chance, its a 1 in 1500 chance for a fully linked 6 socketed bow(for example) by rolling it one at a time with fusings. But with 1500 orbs of fusing and putting it into the crafting bench its go to re roll the links on a six socketed bow guaranteed fully linked. You will need the 6 socket/link crafting recipes though. Also scrolls of wisdom drop a lot, you item filter might be to strict to see anything less than a stack of scrolls. I know that was a lot but hopefully this helps!
@evilstermegaman Жыл бұрын
People suggested a lot of things, but you seriously should start with looking up vendor recipes Another tip: since it's your first char, it's quite useful to sell everything, especially white items (they give you the shards for wisdom scrolls, so you can stock up on them). Not a speedrun strategy, but this helped me a lot when I started. On the other hand, you could just sell higher currency that you get from unidentified blue items, and check the filter if it filters out low currency.
@moozooh Жыл бұрын
_Most certainly_ not white items. A typical white item (not 6-socketed) sells for one wisdom shard. An unidentified blue item sells for an equivalent of two wisdom shards, so there's no scenario where white items are better for this. But that point in the game he should rather just identify and sell rares because each of them gives 1-2 scrolls' worth of shards at the minimum.
@evilstermegaman Жыл бұрын
@@moozooh yeah, if you take into consideration to sell currency for currency, you're right. I'm a horder, i don't sell currency for currency (except for Chaos with other players), so it did indeed work for me. But my point to just sell everything includes your point, so... Small win for me? 😅
@Asin24 Жыл бұрын
Honestly he shouldn't need to sell white items for wisdom scrolls at the point he is act being in Act 6. Plenty can drop that it shouldn't be an issue and it would just end up slowing you down. Just identifying items that can be useful for you as rares is all you should really bother with at least at that level until he gets to later on where you find more valuable rares.
@evilstermegaman Жыл бұрын
@@Asin24 I agree, normally on act 6 you drop plenty of wisdom and portal scolls. I wonder why he's short on them anyway. I just suggested to maybe farm up a little, and told how I did when I started.

About the frequent selling, stop picking up random yellow items to sell. Sell items with 6 sockets for jeweller orbs and items with 3linkeds(red, blue green) for chromatic orbs. Satin gloves were important because it had 4 links. Ideally you want to have 4 links for all your skills. Scroll of wisdoms can be gotten by selling portal scrolls 1:1 or scrap/whetstone/transmutation 2:1/4:1 The reason bosses are easier than yellow mobs is because there's no variance, bosses are fixed to a certain power level but yellow mobs have a random collection of mods/attributes that results in some yellow mobs you can one shot and some yellow mobs that one shot you. There is a chance to get completely unkillable yellow mobs etc if it rolls a certain unlucky combination of modifiers. Put Steelskin on your left mouse button to move instead of cast when damage taken.

Some feedback: *Like the others have said, you need elemental resistances, be it from gear or passives. You'll need them again when you finish Act 10 as well so be ready for that. *Expeditions (explosive setup thing) are a great way to make currency, so it's good that you like them! They're immensely popular for a reason! *The notable passive Hunter's Gambit would work well for you. *Elemental damage doesn't contribute to your poison DOT, so do keep that in mind. *Not sure if I missed it, but Lilly Roth in town at Act 6 (and your hideout!) sells all gems! Peruse her wares! And lastly, for funsies, see if Toxic Rain ballistas work for you. It deals chaos damage over time AND slows enemies down! Glad to see you enjoying your foray into Wraeclast, exile! Stay sane.

Very nice to see this sreries! If you are addicted to ballistas - you previously got a gem that turns your skill to be a ballista! It works nice with toxic rain (caos version of rain of arrows) or caustic arrow. Fight with your 4-linked G-G-G-G/B equipment with one and 4-linked R-G-G-G/B other anywhere else! Pick a yellow wand or knife (it takes 3 stash points only, do not carry staves or shields - you may lose up to 8 stash points) and vendor it unidentified = transmutation shards, vendor identified = alteration shards. Keep some alteration orbs with you, you'll need to craft a flask with bleed removal! (act 9 you'll do it in Bestiary) Vendor transmutation orbs to get wisdom scrolls. Keep going!

Great video ! About Steelskin, you're not necessarily forced to put a cast when damage taken gem on it to make it proc often, you can put the skill on your left mouse button (in place of move), it will let you move as usual and at the same time every time the cooldown is up, it will use the skill. That's a really convenient way to use Steelskin, and mana should not be a huge issue since its consumption is really low, just be careful of which supports you use on it since some can drastically increase the mana cost. All the other concerns you had seem to have already been talked about in the comments, I just wanted to tell you that some "utility" spells can just be put at the "Move character" slot and no change to your gameplay will occur other than having the spell cast periodically.

Enjoying the series Nyx! The reason your Steelskin skill is activating so rarely is the Cast When Damage Taken Gem you have linked to it requires more damage taken to trigger as it levels. e.g. A Level 1 Cast When Damage Taken Gem will require you to take much less damage before it triggers compared to a higher level Cast When Damage Taken Gem. Lower level Gem = More frequent casting. Alternatively if you bind your instant cast skills like Steelskin to your Left Click in the Hotbar your character will spam them off-cooldown while you move, it's really handy for maintaining temporary buff skills without having to think about them, like your Steelskin and Enduring Cry.
@snocone572111 ай бұрын

Just something you've wondered about: If you see an item pop up like the gloves, Filters often show items with 4 fully linked sockets, because the more sockets you have for a skill the better it gets (chest and bow can have 5 or later in the game 6 linked sockets which is really rare). But be aware, if you have more sockets linked the skills cost more mana. Be aware that items with a strengh base usually have more red sockets, dexterity more green and intelligence more blue. Items of the wrong attribute are hard to change into the right sockets (there are advanced tricks though). In other examples the Filter shows you items that you can trade at the merchant for currency, for example 3 different colored linked sockets on an item give you a chromatic orb, which can change the color of sockets on your items.

Awesome to see you continuing! One of the reasons you struggled with the rare right out of lioneye's watch was you'd just equipped a bunch of new skill gems; gem levels are *very* important so your damage was always going to suck for a little while until you'd levelled them up a little bit.

Super Quick, General Tips: 1. Check your character screen (hotkey "c") to make sure ALL of your elemental resistances are at 75%. If any are under 75%, you can craft resistances on your gear from the crafting bench in your hideout. You are dying alot due to un-capped resistances. 2. The game requires multiple layers of defenses, plus capped resistances, as the damage from monsters is balanced around that. For a Dexterity-based character, your layers of defense are: Evasion (chance to evade attacks entirely), Spell Suppression (reducing the damage taken from spells) and being resist-capped. If you focus on capping your resistances and grabbing the spell suppression passives on the skill tree you will find that you feel much more tanky. 3. A Rule of Thumb for building your character: You should be aiming to increase your life by 300hp every single Act, and after Act 5 your elemental resistances should always be capped. This means that for a character finishing Act 6, you would ideally like to have roughly ~1800 life and 75% fire, lightning, and cold res. 4. Currency in the game can ALWAYS be changed/swapped for other currency at the vendor. You can sell Armor Scraps or Blacksmiths Whetstones for Scrolls of Wisdom, for example, even if this is not made obvious by the vendor. Backseat Tips: A.) DO NOT spend so many skill points traveling to those life nodes in the center of the tree. You would have been much better off just filling in the Spell Suppression wheel right next to your starting area. There is another life wheel just north of that spell suppression wheel that you can take later. B.) Scourge Arrow is not an ideal leveling skill because it is a channeled skill. This means that while you can just press it quickly while zooming through the campaign, the damage when using the skill that way will feel awful. Your previous skills of Rain of Arrows and Caustic Arrow were literally perfect, and I don't know what butthead told you to change them. Rain of Arrows is perfect for clearing large groups of weak monsters and Caustic Arrow is perfect for chewing through tougher enemies and bosses. C.) For Auras, since you are still levelling and you do not have an optimized skill tree, I would suggest picking one small offensive Aura and one defensive Aura. Herald of Agony is perfect if you want to stick with poison damage and I would recommend picking up Defiance Banner to boost your Evasion and Armor. Grace is the larger defensive aura which provides a huge boost to your Evasion, but it reserves 50% of your mana and you can't afford that right now. D.) Your gear is pretty terrible and while I know Unique's look cool, the ones you have equipped right now are doing almost nothing for your build. The rare items (yellow) that keep dropping for you are items you should take and CRAFT ON to improve them. You need life and resistances on your gear desperately.
@mrcarebu Жыл бұрын
For a filter that considers your build, I recommend Tytykilla's racing builds. They're not necessarily noob-oriented, but they're not by any means dysfunctional for noobs either. They are based upon build archetypes and highlight bases for those archetypes, as well as certain socket combinations that are generally appealing. Ranger will highlight good bows and dex gear, mage will highlight good wands and int gear, etc. Bonus tip: Links are the most valuable thing in early levels (1-65); linked skills scale a bit multiplicatively when they synergize. Getting an early 6 link is a massive power boost, but 4 and 5 links are good enough as well. Sometimes it's worth taking suboptimal stat gear for ideal links.
@saltyrivers2211 ай бұрын
Hey man, good video! Since you move really well, specially against bosses, here are some my tips: I recommend you using alteration/transmutation/augmentation orbs on flasks to deal with "Corrupted Blood" status, if you get this status from some yellow mini-bosses you gonna bleed to death if you don't churn life potion really fast. I also recommend you rebinding a key to the "Spacebar" (my case it's the middle mouse button) and you set your "Dash" there to use almost like a "jump" in FPS games. Also, I've seen you missing to get some of the best sellable items from the ground: The six-sockets items (with 6 dots) you can get 7 Jewelled Orbs for each piece, keep an eye on those ;). And my last tip without giving spoilers, pressing "C" to see your stats and going to the Defense tab, pay attention to your elemental resistances. Your lightning res might be very low and you prob need to take care of that, but that lightning dmg from that totem is high nonetheless. Anyways, that's it. Good luck on Act 7!

If I remember correct you can put Steel Skin on left click (move button) and it will be active almost all the time. If you use CWDT gem with Steel Skin remember that the level of CWDT gem will change what level of Steel Skin it can support but also make you take more dmg before it activates. For steel skin I think leave CWDT at lv1. You can right click gem level up button to hide it. Your resist are probably not close to 75% why you take so much dmg, specially lightning resist :) You can check your defensive stats and enchant resists on your gear. Put the workbench in your hideout

Ok first of all, what I might say here might already mentioned by other comments: 1) The explosive thing is a league mechanic from Expedition. Seems u like it, once reach maps, u can allocate to its tree. 2) The fog thing is Delirium, it have counters but the more u away from the mirror, the longer the counter last. It can drop cluster jewel, which is a type of customization if you want to further min max your build. There are various type of cluster jewel and the one u found is minion damage one. 3) Yes, u can make your own filter!!! If u for example play a bow build and dont want to see any other stuff, u can hide it from being dropped, inside the filterblade webpage. But, it gonna take so much time, so what I wanna suggest, the further u in the game, u should download a more strict filter. The one u just downloaded I think is regular one. But the more strict the filter, some things like scroll also wont be shown. 4) Scroll of wisdom! Just vendor Blacksmith Wheatstone, Armourer Scrap, orb of transmutation, or orb of alteration. You wont be run out of them for sure. 5) Vendor recipe! On point 4 about the scroll, it is one of vendor recipe. 3 linked with 3 diff colour socket = chromatic orb. 6 socket item = bunch of jeweller orb. 6 socket 6 linked = bunch of fusing orb. At the beacon you just leave 3 6socket item hehehe. 6) The rogue marker thing is Heist league mechanics. U basically will go to rogue harbour and run some contracts. Run a contract, just open bunch of chest while on the way to the last mission's chest and take the thing and give them back to the guy in rogue harbour. But careful not to trigger the alarm all the way until the end or else the mission's item is totally locked. 7) Last not to forget, act 6 is the act you can buy most of the gems in the game in town from Lily. They cost currency as usual. 8) Last, I promise, check your resistance. Default max resistance is 75%. The spell suppression is important for bow build which dont have much life. Spell suppression chance capped at 100% so try to max it out. Spell suppression you also can get from Body armour, gloves, boots also via crafting. So its not hard to max it. Go for Evasion if u a ranger as more evasion around u on passive tree rather than armor which more towards the Marauder and Templar area. Sorry for the essay. Hope it helps. English not my first language please dont hate me :p

Been loving the videos on my lunch breaks at work. One thing I would recommend is looking into the different currency items that show up, crafting is not recommended generally for beginners, but since you are on a first character and taking your time, I wouldn't worry about trying to do anything with the economy until much later anyway. Primarily, look into chromatics, jewellers, and fusings for some of your gear that you are using to think about the opportunities. These will help your gameplay a lot and open up more skill gem combinations. Note: all currency items in this game are stackable consumables, so it may be worth checking on the value of those before using them

since you are into poison, i think what happened with the troublesome dog early in the clip was scourge arrow not triggering poison. if you hit c, select your main attack in the side-scroll and check the stats below it, it will tell you various things, chance to poison among em. you *really* want this to be 100% if its your main damage source. change to pois support, passive tree nodes with % chance and herald of agony are your friends there. thanks for a entertaining series! its interesting to see someone with experience with arpgs but not this particular one take on the information overload that is path of exile :P

One tip for understanding how to gear or pick passives, PoE functions on a system of flat and percent based stats. Flat is mostly on gear, percent is mostly on tree, and you'll want your choices on both to match. P.s. Spell suppression on gear is rare and very powerful. It might be worth hanging onto and using if you find any. P.p.s. 😅 please don't read this part unless you're curious to know nerd details about scourge arrow. Poison is applied on hit based on poison chance, and increased by mods like "damage over time" and "chaos damage over time", "poison damage", etc primarily. Getting your poison chance to 100% is really important. There's not a lot on tree, but those nodes are all really good. flat phys or chaos damage on your weapon will be the base that all your poison multipliers scale, so focus on that over elemental damage. Also poison duration is very strong since poison can stack, so making it longer means it does more damage P.p.p.s you can see poison chance on your character sheet if you select the skill on it. It's a wonky UI, but there's a lot of useful info there, press "c" to open it.

Kinda looked like that mob bugged out (4:45 or so in the video). It wasn't creating its totems at the end, and you were able to just stand and tank him due to that. You probably need to fix your elemental resistances (get up near cap), and I'd suggest picking up some life as well. Suppression is good to pick up, but until you hit 100% it is just a chance to reduce spell damage. A good rule of thumb for life is (300) * (the act number) to be comfortable, so 300x6 (act 6) = 1800 life. Great series, thanks for the content!

things i noticed: - you can right click a tab in your chest - turn on affliction (for example for currency) and then you can use ctrl + click on currency in your inventory and it's automatically sent to your chest into the tab that it has to go. Also make sure you check premium normal tab right click ;) - there's a maximum of 6 links on 2 handed weapons just so you know. you can pass the acts with 4-5 easily, with 6 super easy. but getting a 6L is pretty hard. - get your elemental resists man high up. when you press C you can see your character sheet - make sure all ele resists are 75. get 3k hp and 75% resists and you won't be dying. golden rule of POE is - get good defense then invest everything into offense (at least for acts) - crafting bench! - just so you know. some rare monsters are harder than unique bosses. - your helmet (the tricorne) has 4 L green. you have a helmet unique that's for minions. you don't have minions. do the math :D - if u used 4L skill and go down to a 3L skill because of some higher damage on bow, you will probably have less damage output. Links VERY IMPORTANT! (not always the case but hey) - make sure you notice the difference between increased damage and MORE damage. Whatever gives you MORE damage is WAY better than Increased damage, but it's also more rare to find.

The red areas (17:20} are vaal side areas, you got so incredibly lucky on the very first one you did (back in video 1), you got 2 vaal gems (the ones that give you skills that require souls to use) that were decent for your class! I was shocked when you got 2 green greens from your very first one.

Binding your dash skill to space might make it easier to use. Awesome video again!

Your doing really well! You don't need a build guide or anything just remember these few things. Are your dying? if yes get more HP and resistances on gear and tree. Are enemies not dying? if yes get more chaos/poison/bow damage on gear and tree. Unique items mostly bad. Brace yourself for this one. To get high damage you need to get multipliers like flat #chaos damage and %increased chaos damage with DoT multiplier. The game get a lot easier when you only focus on what you need right now and not learning everything that has nothing to do with your build. Keep it up! Also im sure you've heard it 100 times but new league is very fun started today.

So on the filter stuff. Reddish background items are strength based, green is dex, int is blue, etc. This is so you can get an idea of which stats the items lean towards generally. That item you saw at the very start that was kind of a weird brown/faded gold color was a triple colored item, that one can be sold to a vendor for a chromatic orb (Which can be used on items to reroll the socket colors). There's alot to all this, the important thing is Currency = Gold/White depending on rarity, Colors loosely match the base item's main stats, and brighter more colorful items usually indicates better items. Same with bigger box. Bigger box = better item.

12:05 these gloves are highlighted because they have 4 links (and maybe life mod matters). You are expected to have some socket pressure when levelling without twink gear and stopping to farm

A few Tipps: Use Steelskin with your left click. Or use the Numlock "trick/macro". Spelling while taking damage can cause problems later. The higher the gem, the more damage you have to take for it to trigger. From act 6 onwards resistances become very important, you should try to reach 75% as quickly as possible. There is mana leech, which should help somewhat with mana probs. If you need identification rolls you can sell Whetstones or Armourer's Scrap. That helps at the beginning.
