If I never played d4 I would definitely not be planning on playing POE2, and so d4 will always hold a place in my heart. I played Diablo 1 back in 1996, so I'm a veteran Diablo franchise supporter.... until D4. Blizzard has disgusted me so much with their lazy designs and shameless capitulating to all the whining players asking for mythic items to be made common,etc. Did not buy the expansion and now waiting to pour all my money into POE2 (I also played POE).

I played D4 at launch but the only season I've played is Loot Reborn. I found out that Mephisto doesn't return in his classic form so that killed my interest in VoH. D4 has a solid open world but they need to give us more incentive to roam around it. Summoning the same boss dozens of times in a row in a cave is really silly. It trivializes the bosses. They should do this instead: after every 1k kills in a region a random boss spawns and then after 10k kills ALL the game's bosses spawn throughout the region. Then we move onto another region if we want to and do it again. It would give us incentive to party up so we clear regions faster.

Fun fact. When Diablo IV came out, it was my first Diablo. Then I heard of POE. So I double dipped. I just uninstalled D4 for good, waiting for POE2, and figured modded out console BG3 is a better way to wait for POE2. So… after expansion… I quit D4. That being said, D4 is way more fun than COD has been. So I’ll give Blizzard that. So my next year is auto mechanic school by day, and then go home and console mechanic in POE2 by night. Lmao.

I think for some this is not tribalism. They were promised something and wasn't delivered. That's why most players enjoyed pre-release and not after. Some poe players may like it now but it was marketed as D2 Vibe-ish and turned into D3. It's just way off on how it was marketed and thought it was not worth the hype. PoE players do that in PoE too like the necropolis league . So it was not a D4 only feature. It's ARPG in general. Even Last Epoch, it was hyped, PoE and D4 players liked it for a few weeks, it was not hated but not celebrated that much now. Disappointed, most likely but not tribalism.

i would actually say, by removing skill gems from the gear, and with the new quality of life upgrades as well as having crude gems you can turn into any skill, they removed a lot of the worst parts of the gem system end created something pretty intuitive now. Also seperating mana and removing the manareserve system by replacing it, removes another pretty unintuitive part of the game. Of course the skilltree remains and the double weapon system is actually pretty complex, but d4s paragon does a pretty good job of taking the fear from large skilltrees away. I think the hurdle is not that big anymore. regarding the other game parts, not so sure if it will be that different - POE1 at least was the epidemy of 1 click builds, screen wiede aoe clears and facerolling content. At the moment POE2 looks to take back on the player power, but so did d4 in the beginning. balancing armor, resist and damage is now properly integrated in d4 too, so thats nothing new, but usually was way more punishing in poe. I think the biggest differences will be in the non class gameplay, the way more complex crafting, and some of the more unintiutive parts like triple element conversions that need external tools to calculate or split up droptables where you have to search different sources to find out what drops where.

Hi Benjamin! I agree with you regarding the spiritborn. Don't be scared about poe2, they're concerned with new players and make it more 'user friendly'. Regarding the performance in a PS5, from the gameplay showcases i saw so far, the game is really good. You've several videos with gameplay in PS5. You should take a look and make your decision. I tested PoE2 at BGS and i can tell you without any doubts the game is amazing. I am positive sure if you give it a try you will not regret it, but the final decision is yours. Even the streamers are switching over to POE2. Blizzard will have to pull off a miracle and playing the S7 PTR, that is not going to be it, unless there are a ton of changes, as the rewards are very minimal and the Ancestral drop rate STILL sucks, and there are no real rewards for killing any of hte new bosses. The witch powers are good for T4, but not good enough for anything in the end game. I will not be playing S7, and along with others, I will be switching unless there are drastic changes which Blizzard will not do because that would be admitting that they don't have a clue about game development.

What frustrates me the most about Diablo (and I say this as a huge Diablo 2 fan) is that they have an incredible foundation-great storyline, iconic characters, breathtaking cinematics-but they veered away from the path that made D2 so legendary. They’re sitting on a pure diamond with the Diablo franchise, yet they can’t seem to deliver a truly satisfying product. I’ll give Season 7 a try since I already own the game, but to be honest, I’m not very excited. The truth is, I’m having way more fun with Path of Exile 2 right now.

D1 was my first pc game at home. I mostly missed D2 because I was overseas in the service at the time and WOW, DAOC, and UO took over my gaming life. 😆 D1, and the BNET hijinks, was one of my happiest gaming times though.

Is not a remaster of the 1st one. PoE1 and PoE2 are separate games. If you like D2 you will Love PoE2. I tested at BGS and I love it (and i am a Diablo players since Diablo 1).

I play D4 and I cleared Pit 150 first try not even flinching. Game is okay but just way too easy and always end up with nothing to do and feeling bored within LESS than 2 weeks and having all 3/4GA top end gears. POE 2 just might be calling my name which is ironic because I tried POE 1 few times and I just couldn't get into it (Only spent like maybe 5-10Hours each attempt and never gave it a chance)

Dudes obviously never played Poe but I'm wondering if he's ever played d4. Having played plenty of both and taken multiple ssf hardcore characters into late endgame on Poe, I'd much rather do that in Poe than D4.

I played original Diablo 1 and 2, Diablo 3 (including Diablo Immortal) and D4 since day 1 and all the seasons. D4 is difficult for be, because monsters scale with your level. I have to bash at least 4 times on a regular mob before it dies. Its boring. I have tried different seasons in D4, and I can't play how I want. This makes me go back to Diablo III much more, and play that, its more free to express and try out builds. Poe 2, if its more difficult than D4, I wont touch it. I need a simpler game, I enjoy those. I like progress, and if I am stuck at a boss for more than an hour, I feel its a waste of my time, which I really do not have.

Path of Exile 2 brings a totally different vibe than Diablo 4, feeling much closer to the classic Diablo 2 experience. Playing PoE2 at BGS was incredible! The devs are also focused on making it more approachable for new players, which shows their dedication to the community. And here’s the best part: after Early Access, PoE2 will be free to play on PC and Console! So why not give it a try? My advice: dive in and see if it’s for you-you might end up having a blast! 😊

I love how PoE2 will save D4 atleast all the QQin nolife pros will go to the PHD side. I dont have the hours to learn PoE so i hope the game is good and take the "good part" of playerbase of D4. I can only wish you luck if you think having D4 "pros" playn your game is a good idea xD
